He's still working on the kit. We've got a facebook messenger chat going with everyone that preordered, that he updates us on pictures of the progress. Great communication on his part so far. Honestly not expecting till sometime after the beginning of the year. I think the arms are mostly done and the helmet is coming along.2 points

Hello Daniel, I already have the requested modifications: I have placed the snap in the corner that you have requested: According to the mailboxes, so that they are always aligned with the ends of the ammobelt, I have sewn the rubber to the belt so that they are always in place and prevent them from moving: I have cut the cover of the thigh that was bigger adjusting it to the measure of the other:2 points

Looking good! So, yeah... what Mario said in the previous post. You are close - you don't need many tweaks for Centurion from what I can see.2 points

Amazing what a bit of a rant can accomplish..... Doesn’t look like the cleanest of casts but I’ve nothing to compare it to. Lenses were included, but what do people typically use?2 points

The back plate and TD plate are separate pieces. I stood them up together for the photo. I have no idea if I’ll fit into this thing without any seams. I’m leaning toward needing to cut the back as you said. I went ahead and trimmed off that excess on the chest. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk2 points

It's finally here! BBB day! Everything seems to be in perfect condition. I still need to get the grey PVC for my TD. I'm thinking of starting with the helmet and then moving on to the rest. Specs: Armor: ATA boots: ImperialBoots soft parts: AP Strapping: ImperialBoots Comments and suggestions are very much welcomed as I try to put this thing together! Dear fellow Staff members, Troopers and future Troopers, As Sarah mentioned in a previous post, it is with a heavy heart that I am stepping down in my role of Executive Officer of the FISD. Over the last few months life has thrown me more than a few curve balls, including personal issues, 2 deaths and a hurricane to boot, which in my opinion have precluded me from having the time to effectively perform my duties, and for that I add my sincere apologies to you all. Those of you who have known me over the years know that this Detachment and the people here have honestly meant the world to me, and it has been both an honor and a pleasure being a part of such an incredible group of folks. Although the dust is finally beginning to settle (at last), it will be several weeks before life allows me to get back into the swing of things here 100% as in recent years, but I promise I will get there. After speaking with Sarah, she has graciously offered that I step back into my previous role as Deployment Officer. This will allow me the chance to serve the FISD in the area that I know best, and I look forward not only to returning to assisting future Troopers, but helping those aiming for EI and Centurion attain their goals as well. A big THANK YOU to all of you for bearing with me. Your kind thoughts/comments and personal PMs have helped get me through the recent months more than you will ever know, and an extra big thank you to Sarah for her understanding and keeping me on as part of the Staff. Also, I'm sure that you will all join me in welcoming Brien as our new XO. He is a true treasure here, and I am sure he will continue to go above and beyond to make sure that this Detachment continues to be the best one in the 501st! My very best to you all, and I will see you on the boards a LOT more. Troop on, Joseph1 point

Hey everyone! I apologize for the long break, I fractured my collarbone and life got insanely busy for a couple weeks, but now I am back for another update. First off, my black Testors 1139 arrived, and I was able to paint the black details like the vocoder and the Hovi mic tips, as well as the black outlines around the gray. I'm quite happy with my paint job, but it could still use a little touch up. I also applied the S-trim, although there are a couple wrinkles in it. (Also you can see some blue tape in there holding the lenses in. Still figuring out a way to permanently attach them) Next, neck seal from Darman's Props arrived (thanks Justin for the link!). It is very comfy and looks great! Also, near my house there is a fair, and since I consider my armor "Halloween-Ready", I decided I'd take the armor for a quick test drive. (My brother came with me as Kylo Ren. Future 501st member? We shall see...) It was a huge hit, and I had 35-40 people ask to take pictures with me, and I was only there for about 40 minutes! I enjoyed most seeing the other people's reactions. I do need better gloves as I am using cheap costume gloves, but I will order those soon, probably Nomex flight gloves on Amazon. And that is pretty much it. Until next time1 point

Did you get 501 membership already? If yes you need to post in the 501st access thread for getting the right user permissions.1 point

Hmmm...paint as a last option? Which was normal on HIPS armor (e.g. TE2) but rare nowadays. This is always a danger when you mix/match or need to get replacement parts. I'm unsure why they would have a different color unless he is constantly chasing lowest price from suppliers using reground material. I know ATA uses only new plastic and has a very specific color he gets from his supplier, though I know not all do this.1 point

I finished my T-21! It's lightweight and has an adjustable strap. I honestly never realized how big T-21's were and I was surprised when it started coming together! Here it is! I'm having a few problems with the way my pauldron is laying, but I should be able to fix it. The pack is getting closer to being finished too! I just need to add a few details! Here's what I have so far.1 point

Once you have your TK ID you can apply for EIB Expert Infantry Badge befor you go for Centurion. This link can be usefull. https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/forum/95-expert-infantryman-program/ In this section you can review approved EIB applications and take some ideas what you must post and the common issues. https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/forum/19-request-expert-infantryman-status/ Heres another usefull info I have copied from the Detachment 's Newsletter So what exactly are EIB (Expert Infantry Badge) and Centurion levels? These programs were designed for those who choose to take their armor above and beyond the minimum requirements for basic 501st Legion approval. It gives you the chance to show a level of dedication and pride that takes your armor closer to being as "screen accurate" as possible, without as much extra work as you may realize! It also works on giving a better look to the Legion as an entity, and you can bet others will take notice of your hard work. The 501st has a list of detailed requirements for Basic approval, (level 1), EIB, (level 2) and Centurion, (level 3) which can be found here in the Costume Reference Library, (CRL) http://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:FISD_CRL Here are a few of the questions people may be wondering about: 1. "I am a (tall/short/heavy/thin) Trooper. Can I still apply? Of course! These programs are open and encouraged for all sizes of TKs, as long as the costume is correct and meets the guidelines. There are many specific build tutorials to every option, as well as a vast network of fellow TKs on the FISD to help you out and offer suggestions. 2. "How much extra will I have to pay for extra items"? The cost is actually quite reasonable, considering the few extra supplies you will need, which are listed in the requirements area. While it may run you a little more to implement these additions to your costume, they will go a long way to improving accuracy. All needed items can be found for sale on this thread: https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/forum/16-ongoing-sales-project-orders/ While blasters are not required for basic approval, for EIB and Centurion levels they are, and may need upgrades (also listed in the CRL). 3. "I haven't even got my kit yet, is it too early to start planning"? Actually, aiming for Centurion is easiest to do right out of the box. 4. "I have my basic TK approval, can I still get in these programs"? In a word... absolutely! 5. "Are there any "perks" to this extra work and cost"? Besides knowing that you have a great looking set of armor, the 501st and FISD believes you should be deservedly recognized for your achievement(s), and allows you to wear the appropriate embroidered "rocker" badge of rank (available for a very minimum cost) on your shirt, helmet bag, etc., as well as rank decals to put on your armor bin. You will also have access to select "challenge coin" runs, receive (free) a cool certificate for your new rank, and have your title posted below your name in your FISD signature. Plus, once you reach these levels, you will have the extra knowledge to help out those who are looking to apply as well. 6. "Is it hard to apply, and what happens then"? After basic approval, all you do is make sure your armor is up to the standards set forth in the CRL, post a thread with the required photos in the appropriate area (see below), and wait a bit for the D.O.s (Deployment Officers) to address it. (Hint: Studying other people's threads before you submit can be a GREAT help). These are also listed on the main page of the FISD site. While waiting for approval, you will get some comments from others who will offer suggestions and constructive advice to help you out. If you should need any changes, the DOs will let you know, so you can adjust accordingly. Don't be dismayed if you do need changes... it's all for your benefit! After you are approved for EIB, then you can submit for Centurion. EIB https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/forum/19-request-expert-infantryman-status/ Centurion https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/forum/72-request-centurion-status/ Just remember that the FISD is here to help you every step of the way with whatever other questions you may have, but if you can't seem to find what you are looking for in your research, just ask away here on the forum. hope this can help. cheers1 point

Yes, to maintain the return edge at the elbow, Trim the wrist. I would recommend not trim till you have tested the complete arm asembled. this would prevent the forearms to be short and give you a bad look as if you were waering a small shirt. Cheers1 point

First off with posting pics some people use a third party like imgur or tapatalk. I’m sure there are a few more but you get the idea. As for the armor maybe it’s me but I’m confused where you want to trim the arc. At the wrist or elbow? I’ve seen it done at the elbow and I’ve also seen some people leave it uneven. I’m fairly sure if you look you can find examples of both within the original movie. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

You might get away with it see how it looks mocked up on you. I've taken way more than that off on a trooper and it passed, but had to because of body type1 point

Online image host free such as Imgur, create an account, upload the images and then copy and paste them directly into your post NOTE not that I think you'll need pre approval with Daniel's @CableGuyhelping hand Good luck1 point

Unless you’re looking for something to melt down to create ABS paste, I’d stay well away.... ;-) Seriously though, the quality of the moulds is poor. The plastic has a blue tint which looks nasty against higher quality kits. 3 piece helmet is hard work, plus the faceplate isn’t very well moulded. Check the vetted sellers list as suggested above and you’ll end up with a much better suit of armour to treasure. :-)1 point

Hola José! I love how happy you look in your photos. *Great* job with fixing the teeth on your helmet. A couple small issues before we continue with your Centurion application. First, the L3 CRL states: There should be a minimal gap between the shoulder armor and the chest/back plates. Your shoulder bell gap in the EIB application photos actually looks a lot smaller so it might just be the way you are holding your arms, but the rear photo is showing a pretty big gap: Can you post new photos from the front and back showing minimal shoulder bell gap? Reference Images: . Next, your belt is still a little low. The L3 CRL states: The top of the ABS ammo belt should sit at or just above the bottom of the central and vertical abdomen button panels. If you look at the reference photos, you'll see that the top of the plastic belt should be touching or even slightly overlapping the bottom ab button. . On my own kit, I added a little velcro to my belt to keep it from sagging. You're almost there! Just a couple small fixes. Let me know if you have any questions.1 point

I must say this kit looks very nice and clean, the pulls look reasonably sharp too, I'm impressed. Keep up the great work Pat, so glad you finally received your kit.1 point

Another question I had was about the helmet. Do you typically replace the black mesh looking material with actual mesh to make it breathable? Don’t fancy drilling out all those holes1 point
-
If they fit the helmet. Fan sculpt helmets can change dramatically. Worth a shot I guess, I have a KB helmet, I buffed the lens due to some blemishes, all and all not too bad considering.1 point

Also, the biceps look like possible trouble. I tried to reshape them but I’m worried how they’ll look once the inside is attached. They were really shallow when I received them and the detail very soft. And rough cuts on the bells Probably going to do the yoke/back/chest next, can’t wait.....1 point

Nice work so far Pat. Question regarding the Ab section. Looking at your photos, the back plate appears to have a portion of the TD attached to it, is there anywhere for the back plate to be split behind that TD section? The reason I ask is the CRL states there can be no visible seams, that means the sides will need to be seamless. If your body is small enough to slide into the Ab section fully enclosed then you have nothing to be concern with. If not the back section will need to have a seam so you can open and close it.1 point

I thought the black pauldrons were all distributed! Had no idea those were still mostly missing. I don’t recall your pauldron build, I’ll check that out when my kids hit the sheets tonight. The 3 of us with this BSP kit are toying with the idea of making unofficial green mountain pauldrons with these small ones. I’ll take that extra return off the chest tonight before packing this back up until next weekend. Thanks for the info. This is the box still needing to be cut out. Tk uk is awful...and most importantly, very inaccurate and a ton of work to make acceptable for the 591 st . Think of it as a Halloween costume, not a trooping option .1 point

Thanks Daniel for your quick review and your advice. I will get to work to try to fix as soon as possible.1 point

Hey there. Do you have more pictures? Side on would be great. I have a suspicion that the ears might be on the opposite sides. Also, a little tip for taking pictures of armour parts; Take a couple of steps back from the subject and zoom in slightly. This will give an image closer to how the human eye sees it. This will make it easier for accurate feedback in your thread. :-) Example;1 point
