Nearly a week ago a special Command Staff member hit a noteworthy milestone of 10,000 posts here on FISD. On a daily basis he can be found expertly guiding new recruits on their journeys to the 501st or assisting veterans seeking the ranks of EI and Centurion. No doubt this Trooper's diligent contributions at the Detachment and Garrison levels have had a significant impact on a great many of us. Hitting 10,000 posts is no simple accomplishment, especially when they are as detailed and constructive as those by this member, and such a remarkable number is indicative of a consistent presence and immeasurable value to the community. Though he would never seek acclaim for his tireless commitment to the motto "Troopers Helping Troopers," his dedication to that cause is worthy of acknowledgement and thanks from us all. So, a big heartfelt THANK YOU to Joseph "@justjoseph63" Pedigo, TK-10963. You are a true asset to FISD and the 501st, and your abundant generosity and passion will continue to be inspiring to all of us! Here's to many more helpful tutorials, flexible hand guards, and removed return edges!3 points

Hey team! An update on my build. My submission to EIB was approved last week (thanks to the Emperor!) and want to say a big thanks to everyone who helped with advice along the way. Building in isolation (literally) was a little daunting to begin with, but a lot of research, advice and many questions from myself made it feel like I was in a crowded room with friends. Thanks! A mighty thanks also to the DOs, who have set many high bars with the EIB 1000 and Centurion 500. I'm also proud to announce I have submitted my TK for Centurion assessment. I've spent the last week(-ish) making mods and have to say I am much happier. FYI - I took a cm off either side of the kidney plate to bring in the sides (which included ABS pasting the holes and drilling new ones), replaced the Ab/kidney plate connections, gave the shoulder bridges a heat treatment, repositioned the velcro on my belt to get it to sit higher, and painted black the cocking lever on my E-11.2 points

Still trimming the parts, i took some pictures of rs parts, in comparison to rwa big boy kit. The pictures speak for themselves. Much space to fit in, for big guys and also for rounder ladies. More to come. Cheers Wolfgang1 point

Hi Rodney, Neet work on the kidney strapping. However, if you are going to have a gap either side, you really need to even up the gap both sides. Otherwise, the “middle” or centre line of the ab and kidney (well, and the chest, back and butt), will be twisted off centre compared with your body. So, ideally, you’d need to measure the larger gap on your right (shown below in mirror image), divide this by two and then apply an equal gap to each side. [emoji1303]1 point

You know what!, you cant beat that feeling when someone asks you where you got your armour from and you tell them you bought a kit and built it yourself. Their is a huge amount of pride that goes along with that. Not only is a a great accomplishment for you, but you learn some new skills, and you will love your armour so much more, that I promise you. We have seen may commission builds where the buyer has still had to modify things to get the armour fitting just right, so if you have to pull things apart, you might as well build it and have it the perfect size from the get go.1 point

In case you hadn't seen here is the size comparison: "Lastly, I picked up a Rubies child helmet on eBay. It's actually not a bad helmet... for kids! Left: the original toy helmet; Middle: Rubies child helmet; Right: Anovos standard ABS helmet."1 point

Had them on my first set of armor, found I didn't need them as the inside elastic held them up fine, did catch on the chest from time to time1 point

I have the hooks and you don't even realise they are there if you put a small bend in them. They can catch on the sides of your chest plate also depending on how they sit.1 point

Nice work, a few tweaks you could make: Watch the rotation of the forearms to biceps, cover strips should align Butt plate is being pushed backwards a touch, I came up with some V taps to help keep it in alignment. Also right drop box is not aligned with the end of the plastic belt section. You just glue the bottom tab and leave the top free to move on the kidney You have a lot of overlap on the backplate to kidney, you may be able to adjust the strapping to solve this. You could also trim a little of your TD clips, they are showing under the belt You shins are sitting high on the boots, you may be able to bring these down a little to allow more room at the knees. Also shoulder bells could be rotated a little more to be closer to the chestplate1 point

Whelp. I keep wanting to make updates and post pictures but then something breaks, something then gets redone, that thing I’ve redone then breaks, and it became an endless cycle of trial and error. Been going through tutorials and and other build threads to get a better idea of how to do things, but I feel that I need to do my own take on everything. Regardless, I felt confident enough tonight to start taking some pictures of the armor fully kitted up. The internals are a mess and I will try redoing them tomorrow. Once they are in a state that I like them, I’ll probably take a pictures. As always, any commentary is welcomed. I know my left arm wasn’t properly aligned, and the shoulder bell tops need to be closer to the shoulder bridges, but I did fix the dropping white elastic problem. I’m thinking I may need to trim the top off the thighs so that the sniper knee has proper clearance.1 point

I did it!! I gotta tell you, I'm also finishing up my master's degree right now. I just submitted the initial draft of my thesis to my advisors. BUT...receiving my approval to join the 501st through the Golden Gate Garrison from @RickyBoyBlue made me throw my arms up in triumph!! My wife rolled her eyes So proud to be joining this fine organization. Thanks for the support!! Just waiting on that TKID...1 point

Stayed up waay too late finishing up cutting my main pieces! Again, marking what to cut and keep made things less scary. And now for the initial fit tests! Side-by-side comparison (yes I 'shopped 2 pics together) Hard to tell if my back piece is too high or the Abs are too low Overall, very happy!1 point

It is actually a Rubies adult helmet! The shoes are just little (sorry, not sure what you might call them) 'plimsoles', or school gym type shoes with elastic at the side, painted. The moulded chaps on the battle buddy had to be removed as it was constricting the ankle, so her mum made her little craft foam replacements.1 point
