Sorry to keep coming back to this topic but, I wanted to check and the executioners definitely do have the mobility cut to their forearms too. In fact if pay attention to all the troopers in the background it quite obvious that this cut has become standard for TLJ, and then TROS. But what's nice , is that once you know it's there you can even guess the expanding stripe along the back seam: So here's an interesting piece of trivia if you're doing an executioner and care about deepest accuracy: mobility cut at the front, and expanding stripe at the back. Also here's some more troopers with the mobility cut. I don't know if it is already, but I think this might be something worth mentioning in the TLJ/TROS CRLs. Or at least for the higher levels of accuracy.3 points

@Krisko720, ANOVOS' old business model served them well at the time. They did Star Trek and Battlestar Galactica stuff for a fairly small clientele, those being much more niche properties. They would announce a product to gauge interest before a single erg was exerted on R&D. They would offer deep discounts on the eventual retail price to an early batch, less to a couple successive tiers, and then use that to fund production. Everyone knew they were in for a wait, and the company was fairly transparent about progress and setbacks. Then they got the Star Wars license and everything went to hell. A lot was involved in what happened after, only some of which we know. Disney and LFL don't like their license-holders being as open about internal practices -- especially involving them -- as ANOVOS had tended to be. Some is known, though... A lot of early prototyping was done with known unlicensed vendors. Then, at some point, they cut ties, took most of the prototypes, and transferred all remaining prototyping and R&D to China. They apparently did not do due-diligence in their hurry to stay on schedule and cut costs. Some combination of shady factories, language barriers, and economies of scale started screwing things up horribly. Their orders were small enough, they kept getting bumped down the schedule for bigger customers. Lackadaisical quality standards saw whole shipments reach the States with cheaper materials than contracted for (the factory pocketing the difference). At least one factory was one that has a record of holding clients' orders hostage. Every time they've had to send something back for re-working or trying to get back on the schedule to re-do a substandard order, that's time and money they couldn't afford. And the same bad business decisions that led them to that point seem to have kept compounding things, to the point a class-action suit was filed and Disney appears to have likely stepped in to whip them into shape. ANOVOS have brought a large part of the manufacturing back States-side and product is starting to ship. For those of us waiting for our FOTKs, the bulk of early production seems to be going to Disney. I've seen about half a dozen people receive theirs on here and Facebook, but I don't know how many people ordered who aren't involved with Star Wars costuming groups, so I don't know what percentage of kits shipped to customers that might be. My takeaway is that it's in Disney's and LFL's interest to prop up ANOVOS and get them back on the rails. If they go under or lose the license, as with Icons, Master Replicas, PropShop, and Museum Replicas, anyone who comes along after them (if anyone even dares pick up such an apparently cursed license) would have to start from scratch. I have hung in because I want to see ANOVOS get their crap straightened out and succeed.2 points

To answer your question, they have only done 1 official run and it has never shipped except for a a couple kits a few months ago. Unofficially they did a few Alpha and Beta runs back in 2015 of only a few kits for PR that were only available to a few 501st members. Given that they still have not delivered orders from back in 2016 and that is supposed to be the first people that get them chances are slim to none at this point. As far as if you were to order today as part of the new 2019 pre-order we can only guess at this point but a best guess would be that you would receive it anywhere from next year to never. In all honesty there is no reason to spend a dime with them until they can actually prove that they are shipping items. You are much better of going with a maker from here that is actually shipping armor reliably like Jimmiroquai.2 points

Hi again Angel and thank you for your Centurion application - let´s get to it! CRL and Centurion Application Requirements All required photos are now in and, after review, we are pleased to welcome you to Centurion! On behalf of the DO team and myself, many congratulations! Other-Armor Fit/Assembly In this area we discuss areas that could benefit from additional improvement. Note that we consider both text (CRL) and pictures (screen caps/reference images) when reviewing submissions. You have done great work on your armor and we only have a few suggestions that we feel would really make you shine. We just want to mention to keep tweeking those shoulders for that sleek Trooper-look, could also be the way you´re holding your arms compared to the Troopers below. Next up we have the ab buttons and you could actually add some paint. Moving on to the belt we suggest altering it or changing it for a more accurate one, if that´s your preference of course. The belts used in the movie were not folded over at the edges. Looking at the left dropbox we suggest shortening the elastic to move it up against the ammobelt. We finish off with a simple dressing issue - keeping the thighs at an equal hight. That´s it! Again congratulations and great job during your EIB and Centurion application - you´ve earned it2 points

Received that too, I still can't believe they have the gall to continue offering products to those people who have yet to be supplied outstanding orders, bit of a slap in the face and not helping with what little image they have left.2 points

Far too early build thread but lets go! My KB kit is coming in early december but today I got my Anovos standard line helmet from BBTS. So excited about this project. I decided to build Jakku version and before my kit arrives is good time to finish F-11D heavy blaster.1 point

I got the armor last week and am still waiting on the helmet. First impressions are that it’ll need a lot of trimming. My ANH TK was AM2.0 so I’m a bit spoilt with the thickness of that plastic. This seems a lot thinner so I’ll be reinforcing as I go. A couple of parts look different to the KB threads I’m following. The back-yoke is a 2 piece not 3. The firearms are 2 piece opposed to 4 and the torso back is shorter than the front. If anyone has put one of these together recently I’d love to hear how it went. My last TK took 18 months, hopefully this’ll be around 6.1 point

I know but perhaps they could take the time to NOT send it out to people already on a wait list for products well overdue, they should know who are purchasers and who are just on an interest list, this also happened for the FOTK armor1 point

I really like the work you did to re position your mannequin. Nice job there. If it’s not too late, for accuracy, you could flip your biceps around as they appear to be on upside down.1 point

Congrats on starting your journey to join the First Order. Here’s hoping KB’s pallet of abs arrives sooner than expected so you can get underway. Looking forward to another FOTK build thread. Be sure to shout out if you have any questions. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro1 point

Yeah.. shame on me for not doing the proper research. I at least have a helmet coming Friday, found a lined standard ANOVOS FOTK TLJ version from a private individual on eBay. I suppose I’ll just start on some helmet mods and start collecting soft goods. Worst case I’ll just buy the armor elsewhere to have something to build and sell the ANOVOS kit if/when it comes in. So terrible to hear you guys have been waiting for so long.1 point

I’m new to the site and have been reading along. Question: It may not be known, but in regards to the FOTK orders, how many runs have they done and how many have actually shipped? I can understand a company having material or production issues but I’m always a fan of filling my customers in on exactly what I’m dealing with so they know I’m being honest. As a customer myself, I always feel way better when I think I’m at least in the loop as much as my supplier is. So if you’re saying they’re taking new ‘pre-orders’ now and just filling up the old slots, what do you think the likelyhood of receiving a FOTK TLJ standard armor only kit would be if you order it now? Would you possibly jump right in on the current 2019 Pre-2019 and actually take delivery in the mentioned Q4 delivery dates? I only ask because I’m a noob and jumped in too soon without research and ordered not long ago. Hence what led me to this group. Seems possible but from what I’ve been reading I might be along for the ride on a wagon that’s been cruising down the road for quite a while...1 point

I think you are definitely getting close. I don't think any knee and leg armor placement will line up perfectly at the top edge. It is hard to do. My answer would be to get as close as possible, but make sure that the front of the knee is parallel with the floor, and not angled. This really stands out and is noticed by people.1 point

Hi John, and thank you for your Expert Infantry application! In the following review I will be going over a few items pertaining to your current submission, as well as those that will be required for Centurion level should you choose to apply, and with this awesome looking armor I hope you do! CRL and EIB Application Requirements: All required submission photos have been posted and I am very pleased to announce your armor displays all the necessary elements to qualify for ANH Stunt Expert Infantry. On behalf of myself and the entire D.O.Team, Congratulations! Other-Armor Fit/Assembly: In this section we review observations made by your fellow troopers and ourselves. Some observations may lead to suggestions to improve the overall look of your armor. Note that we consider both text (CRL) and pictures (screen caps/reference images) when reviewing submissions. Let's get right into this and start from the top: 1. The ends of your brow strap could use some trimming to align them with the rear of the traps. (EASY fix)! 2. While not a deal breaker per se, the brow has quite the downward slope on the sides for some reason, giving the traps an odd shape and should be raised if at all possible. Reference images This may be a dressing issue, but the cover strip alignment on your forearms/biceps is pretty far off. Although they don't need to be perfect, the forearms would look much better if they were turned in some. Fixing this could be as easy as changing the position of the strapping between them. Reference images I couldn't help but notice the difference in the length that your shoulder bridges sit on your back plate. I am assuming that they are glued evenly in the front, and it may be a simple thing like the back plate has shifted toward the right more than the left. Looking at the photo they are different heights on the top as well. Also, although you did not list your height I also presume that you are a taller trooper, as the large rear tab is not removed and you needed that to make certain that you could add the elastic band. Again, no biggie, but something that you could look in to adjusting. Reference images GREAT to see that you used the "double snap" method, John! (You won't be sorry you did that... trust me). However, you have a disparity between your back and kidney plates on the left side. It's fine to have a gap between those pieces, but it needs to be even all the way across. I think the easiest way to remedy this would be to shorten the strap on the left side (red arrow). Reference images To finish things off in this section, we would really like to see the cover strips on your thighs/calves line up better. This can be easily achieved by using some 1 inch x 1 inch (or 2 inch) foam strips inside your calves to keep them from twisting out. Some glue them in, but I had the same issue and I attached them with Velcro so that I could remove them for cleaning. Reference images Centurion Requirements In this section we prepare you for Centurion. More photos may be requested in the future that allow us to make better decisions on possible adjustments. If there are any areas of concern they will be discussed here. Because Centurion photos show much more detail than EIB, items to pertaining to Centurion might be seen there and not here. We try to point out all that we can from what is seen, but the final accuracy is the responsibility of the trooper. You used the perfect color paint on your tube stripes, John, but unfortunately the shape and length are off for L3. If you look at the reference pics, the stripes are much shorter and each stripe is about the same distance apart as the width of each other. Also please note that the stripes lean toward the front (not the back), as shown in the example below. They also do not extend under the ear. If you are willing to remove the existing paint on the tube stripes and remedy this, I will send you (no charge) some templates to use as well as a few hints and tips on how to do it effectively. Reference images For some reason your ab plate is peeking out beyond your chest plate on the left side in your photos.. Not sure if this is a size issue, but it needs to be addressed before we can move you along to L3. Can you tighten up the ab/kidney connection? Reference images Belts belts belts... where would a TK be without his ammo belt? I am IMPRESSED that your trimming of the tops and bottoms of the belt were so close to the ammo boxes.... just like the originals! (Many troopers don't do this). But alas, as per the CRLs it needs to come up some. The top of the ABS ammo belt should sit at or just above the bottom of the central and vertical abdomen button panels. Yours - Bring it up half an inch and you will be golden! Reference images Now onto a few tiny details, brother. As you may be aware, Centurion is all about the small items that we (but most others) would never notice. The first one being: 1. Your ABS button covers are way too thick... (there should be no edges on them). Removing them is actually fairly simple. Just CAREFULLY use a razor knife to cut through the glue and then pry them off and trim down the edges. Reference images Ab/kidney rivets: The size of your rivets is spot-on, but unfortunately the placement is a bis askew. The middle one is a tiny bit off but is passable, but the one on the bottom of your ab plate needs to come up and the hole filled. Even though they are covered by the canvas/ABS belt, as per the CRL they still need to be equally spaced along the depth of the armor and about 10mm from the edge. Reference image Now for the big one. Let me preface this by saying that in looking at your overall build I am thoroughly impressed with your mad skills, and that I have faith that you can take this all the way to Centurion! The thighs/calves: As you probably have noticed, there is an inordinate amount of flat area on each side of the cover strips on the front of your thighs. We completely understand that not all Troopers are the same size, and certain allowances must be made as such. But.. these areas must be reduced in order to get you level 3, so here is what I am recommending: I know it will be difficult, but I have every confidence in you, John, Remove the cover strips from the fronts (and backs) of the thighs. Cut down the sides of the flat areas in the front. Use the same size cover strips in front when you glue them back together. Make the back cover strips wide enough to cover the gap (in green, third pic). The front of your calves is spot-on, but the backs could also use a wider cover strip, Lastly, I noticed that the grip of you E-11 has some shine. This may be due to the some reflection and is not actually weathered, but note that the original grips were made of plastic and therefore should have no metallic appearance, So there it is, brother. You have a few items to deal with, but as mentioned I'm sure you can take this set of armor all the way to level 3. You can DO IT! If you need any help, please feel free to ask.1 point

Hi Dan, Thank you for your post. I will take pics of my lid as suggested, I will also put the ears on. With regards to photos I've been using as a reference for my build. I have been using the FISD gallery (OT TK ANH Stunt). I have also used RS Propmasters youtube videos, and other build threads on FISD forums. [emoji1303] Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk1 point

Wow thanks for all the great replies! Still very new to the whole TK building. Ever since I was little I wanted a trooper suit. Always was eyeing the Rubio's supreme as the "holy Grail". Boy was I wrong. After reading and looking around here I'm pretty sure an AP kit is the way to go for me. I've never done any cosplay building so it will be a venture for sure. The real trick is talking my wife into the process. Any advice? Lol1 point

You can try and add it back on with plastic welder or similar, worst case scenario you buy another yoke. There is no requirement for return edge thickness in that area. Metal shoulder tabs were designed from the movie suits so yes that's how they will look when installed correctly. My build thread has more info on that when you get to the installation part. You can also hit me up with any questions. Keep up the great work1 point

I agree with everything you have all said. I watched the trailer, I felt emotions, and I am so excited and saddened it will be the last of the Skywalker series.1 point

Hello Rob! Thanks for your application! We'll need you to make a few corrections before we can proceed with your application. First, you'll need to replace and paint your thermal detonator screws. The L2 CRL states: Clips shall be attached with slotted type, flat or dome top style screws, and be black (two per clip). V head screws are not permitted. So almost any slotted screw will work except a v-head. You'll also want to use black screws, or just use a bit of black paint on them. Reference Image: Next, as @SirFalconian said, you'll need to close up that ab/kidney gap a bit. Any gap between the abdomen and kidney armor is no more than 1/2" (12.5mm) wide. Besides being careful when dressing, you can try tightening your belt, and many troopers have good success connecting the left side rivets with nylon instead of elastic. In the meantime, we'll also need some additional photos: * Helmet right side * Close up of hovi tips/vocoder * Close up of shoulder strap connection * Close up of ab buttons * Interior strapping * Sniper knee front, left, and right * Close up of cod and butt connection to show presence of rivet + 2 snaps * Belt interior * Closeup of inside and outside of thigh ammo pack rivet * Rear of blaster (to show D-ring) Thanks!1 point

Good to see another AM armor kit you may want to peek at my submission that's under review just a few down on the list. Will give you some ideas on what they will be looking at. One that I had issues with was that Gap in the sides. Good luck with yours.1 point

Funny thing is when I ordered the armor my intent was to have it ready for the last Jedi! The fact that I’m gonna miss the last film that may even have first order in it is pretty enraging at this point.1 point

A friend of mine who has an Irish band composed this Sith Song to an old Irish Ballad. I was unaware it was in his repertoire. Composed in 2013, he just shared it with me today, and I thought I’d post it here where the most passionate of Star Wars fans would appreciate it.1 point
