  1. I know this is like a month late but I wanted to thank everyone for their feedback. It was super helpful and I'm now a member of the 501st

  2. Assuming your drop boxes are held to the main belt with a strip/loop of elastic, just a little blob of glue (I used E6000) or a small stitch holding the drop box elastic to the canvas belt. Just stops it moving out of place. I’ll PM you an example - don’t want to muddy your application with pictures of other kits. Dan Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  3. Your best bet is to speak to TM. He will know his armour better than anyone.

  6. What's up FISD, my name is Freddy, and I am a student and long-time Star Wars fan from Duisburg, Germany. After finishing my E11 build a couple of days ago (if you're interested, you can find my build here) and after a bit of a hassle with my ANOVOS pre-order from last August I decided to cancel this order and ordered a DIY armor and helmet kit from RS Props on May 4th (the ways of the Force indeed are unfathomable). This is due to arrive tomorrow, so I started this thread in preparation for the great day tomorrow In the next days and weeks (and probably months) I am really looking forward to meeting and talking to a lot of new people (I felt at home in the circle of E11 builders, but now it's time to expand this circle), and I am also hoping for a lot of support as this is my very first costume build ever (I usually just buy them finished, but have also never spent so much money on a costume before). I am aiming for Centurion as I said to myself that if I'm ready to spend so much money and dedicate so much of my free time to building this Great White TK, I might as well aim for the maximum level. Plus, with all the cumulative knowledge of Centurion builders and owners, I'm sure I can do it - all I need is a couple of pushes in the right directions For the German Garrison members out there following this post, I am also going to start a build thread in the GG forum (Link can be found here), however this will mostly concentrate on where to get all the extra parts and supplies in Germany or Europe because like mentioned before I have had some trouble with ordering stuff from the US and it's just a lot more expensive due to shipping and customs... Here is a list of the stuff I have ordered or received already: ANH TK Stunt Armor kit: RS Props ANH TK Stunt Helmet kit: RS Props TK Boots: Imperial Supply Depot Holster: GG-internal purchase Neck Seal: GG-internal purchase I am pretty hyped for tomorrow and will spend the day reading through guides and watching build videos on YouTube so I won't screw up anything unnecessarily Unless UPS feels otherwise, I shall be back tomorrow with visual updates of my kit and perhaps the other stuff that's there already. If you have any tips that you think I must know before starting, please feel free to tell me, and like mentioned earlier I am really looking forward to talking to you guys and maybe even see some of you on future troops once this bad boy is finished and approved. Cheers for reading and over for now, Freddy

  7. Had been a rumour that a Celebration may be held in the Asia Pacific region but obviously not this time around. Have fun all in the US, again

  9. You could use AM or TM and RT-MOD. All would work. I have RT because he makes his a bit bigger in scale. I think his is the bigger chestpiece of the makers. With all three you can't go wrong. Great makers. Good Luck Future Trooper!

  10. Also, please verify the gaps on your ab / kidney connection Any gap between the abdomen and kidney armor is no more than 1/2" (12.5mm) wide. Any shims used to achieve this effect are of a similar material and color as the abdomen and kidney armor. Shims fit flush and seams are allowed. It could just be the picture, but the gap looking a bit larger than that; you may need to tighten the belt or create the shims.

  11. For the thighs, the large swoop goes to the inside of the thigh (and butt return edge to the front). And yes, the shins are the same for the RS kit.

  13. Oh, nevermind. I looked up and saw your pics. I can't remember why the AM kit has the two belts.

  14. Well said man[emoji122] You’ll like this one a lot more. I was 260 when I started mine and had a lot of extra cut off. I could have gotten bigger and still been able to size that to me. Lucky for me I went down to 245 (still trying). I’m not sure why it’s all still on the desk, start building!

  15. As promised, back at work and here we go! Everything laid out on our conference table at work. What else is a conference table good for? I was surprised at how much stuff there actually was. Took up the whole table. Now for the detailed images. Here we have the helmet, pre-trimmed ears, two types of shoulder straps (need to look up the different versions of this kit) and biceps. Chest, back plate, and forearms. Looks like a lot more room than what I currently have. Ab and cod, belts (something else to look up), different ab buttons, different hand plates, thermal det was pretty much preassembled, drop boxes (inner and outer). Leg day (I had to move around the other side of the table for a better look. TK knee plate and two TD knee plates, thigh ammo belt (AM will prebend them for you if you like) Some of the extras, correct brow and neck trim, aluminum mic tips, ABS weld (I'll stick to E6000, thank you) and some hardware. Detail on the belts and buttons Detail on the ab buttons and hand plate options. Ab and cod detail (I was happy this was one piece. I've heard some kits this comes in two parts and didn't want to deal with that.) Close up on the kidney and butt plate. Close up on the pre-trimmed ears, mic tips, and shoulder strap options. And that's about it for now. It also came with what looks like the correct lens material. Decal options for TK or TD as well as some frown mesh and tube stripes for stunt and hero. I will say this, packing was awesome. Everything wrapped almost individually and stacked neatly. Not tossed in with peanuts like I've seen before. I'm going to have a heck of a time getting it all back in the box. But all in all I'm quite pleased with the kit itself and the value. If I didn't have work today, I'd be at home beginning assembly. 16. Big Deal, that is good news. They did come highly recommended so its not surprising that they would offer to make the zipper problem right. I am hopeful that our issues are isolated incidents and not the norm. Ok quick update. So I sanded the back plate down and still had a sizable indention where I added the HIPS so I needed to add another layer of PC-7. Hopefully, tonight I will be able to add the back boxes and get a sense of how the groin and posterior will fit. And a special NOTE… So I had mentioned in a previous post that I wanted to build a more realistic E11. I grabbed the HFX for general trooping but I prefer something more “substantial” that has a moving charging handle and trigger among other things. I also wanted a more realistic scope that I could play with and consider adding a reticle inside at a later date. Well, LTM suggested Master Blaster for my upgraded E-11 and at the time that he suggested this, I was already considering Master Blaster. I had considered several options such as: Build it from scratch with a PVC pipe. Buy the airsoft sterling and make it RO compliant. Buy a DoopyDo kit and make it RO compliant. Buy a Master Blaster and make it RO compliant. So, after LTMs suggestion, I contacted Raymond from Master Blaster and asked him if he would make a RO E11 or consider selling me an ANH E11 without the scope, rail, Hengstler, and power cylinders so I could make it RO compliant. Raymond responded to my question and we talked quite a bit. I learned that he is planning to stop making stuff and selling his business due to family and health reasons. So I opted to get a full ANH kit. This is a project I will be working on way down the road but I did not want to miss out on the opportunity to grab one of his E11 kits. Along with the E11, I also contacted Bulldog Props in Japan and inquired about his resin M43s for anyone not familiar with his scopes, he makes a 1:1 (functional) resin kit for the M43 and M19 scopes. I asked Bulldog Props is he could make a 1943 M43 for Rogue One and Solo E11s. His is now working on this kit and I hope to know something in the near future. I am still not sure what I will do for Rogue One power cylinders and Hengstler at this time. Well, that is it for my update, thanks for the interest.

  20. It’s a great kit I love mine. They make the helmet super easy. Extra parts are for the different TKs so you can switch if you want to do a sandy down the road. I found the plastic to be very nice to work with due to the thickness. Be careful cutting but it is very sturdy. With that being said I did get a crack in my chest (my own fault, packing incident) so don’t be too careless. Seeing those pics makes me want to buy another one. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  25. Sorry for the quality-lacking photos. I was in a hurry. I'll shoot some new photos tomorrow. A few bits about this new set of molds and castings. Obviously, we are using the same rubber as we have for years. The muzzle cone is molded separately to provide a deeper, more realistic look. The bipod is molded separately, The receiver cover has been molded separately and the charging handle is molded separately. The charging handle is cast with a metal threaded insert. The gun is molded with a threaded post (10-32). This may be reversed in the future but I have to see if this will work or not. Normally, these will be painted black but this particular blaster has been painted a gun metal grey metallic to show better in photos.

  27. I'm unsure of this will be of any help to anyone (including myself) intending to build their Phasma costume, but I did a bit of digging and found out what the actual on screen TFA Phasma armor is made out of, part by part. The parts are as follows: Helmet -- Chrome vacuum-plated 3-D printed nylon Cape -- Cotton canvas coated and painted with binder Armor -- Chrome vacuum-plated molded polyurethane Undersuit -- Cotton lycra Gussets -- Molded rubber and cotton and lycra Collar -- Neoprene and rubber Belt -- Rubber Gloves -- Chrome-painted 3-D printed fingers over leather Boots -- Chrome vacuum-plated polyurethane armor over leather Just consider it a reference, I guess? Just trying to help my fellow Troopers (even if I'm technically not one. Yet.)

  39. Reposting the Power Cylinders Template by @PlayfulWolfCub as they seem to have gone missing. This isn't the original file and so it's all a bit JPEGd now, and you can't trust the "Print at 300dpi" bit. 40. Getting ready to make that final cut in the back of both shins. Does it look like a good fit? Will wait till Monday or Tuesday to work the fit again to make sure we got it... What do you think?
