If they make fun of you or look down on you they aren’t worth worrying about. Good luck with the build. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk3 points

**Being the Noob that I am, it took me a little bit to figure out how to properly post images, so let's try this again...** After many requests, I am (finally) posting the pics of my ANH (stunt) Helmet Liner and Electronics installation Build. The pics are on the large size as I wanted to show as much detail as possible, I am going to have to upload them over a series of posts. Please bear with me and I apologize in advance for being so "wordy". Keep in mind, despite it's finished look, I still consider this build to be a work in progress as I have left room to add some additional pieces/functions to it over time. My goal is to take the experiences from this prototype and streamline the process to make future builds easier and more user friendly. Any and all feedback on how to do that will be greatly appreciated. This build began back in April of 2015 at the Star Wars Celebration (Anaheim) where I purchased my full ANH Kit from Anovos. At Celebration I was inspired by those whom had fully functioning audio systems in their helmets as well as seeing the liners and padding inside new FOTK Premiere helmets. I appreciated the fact that they looked both finished and comfortable and weren't just either the typical construction helmet rig or worse, just a thin piece of foam hot-glued at the top that didn't prevent the helmet from bouncing around with just basic movement. Trust me, the irony is not lost on me knowing that the original artifacts used for the production of the movie had just that with only a simple chin-strap to keep them from flopping around. During the next year I spent waiting for delivery, I researched the work that others had put into their buckets. I looked at everything from the types and quantity of electronics, to how they rigged the padding as well as how and where the power supply and wiring were routed. Finding a lot of inspiration from the various "how to" build threads both here and on youtube, I decided to take on the daunting task of fabricating something that balanced functionality, comfortability as well as being aesthetically pleasing. Additionally, I preferred the idea of being able to have full function just by simply donning the helmet without the need to flip any switches, push any buttons or connect any cables prior to putting it on. Naturally, this meant that I had to figure out how to have everything self contained within the helmet, adding to the complexity of the build. My first step was to figure out size and placement of the padding. I toyed with various sizes and shapes, using everything from old football helmet padding to that of ballistic helmets and flight deck cranials. I quickly discovered that the unique shape of the opening, forcing one to put the helmet on semi-sideways and then twist it into position presented another problem as far as component placement was concerned. It's funny how (despite it's size) you run out of room pretty quickly in the classic TK bucket. The deciding factor to finally just fabricate something from scratch came when trying to figure out how and where to incorporate the electronics without scraping up my face or getting snagged on something when putting on or removing the helmet. I opted then to utilize smaller components inside of the padding in order to save space. Please see the below link for images. I look forward to any and all feedback. Constructive criticism is always welcome as I am always looking for better or easier ways to make things work . https://imgur.com/a/xVA40Es1 point

I think the wording was meant to reflect that the Rogue One traps and tears aren't just painted on or stickers. They are built out from the armor and the vents are cut into them. You can paint them to match, black for the vents and grey, but they should look like they are their own piece, added to the armor.1 point

Nice to see you had fun! Just wanted to suggest you secure the dropboxes with glue or velcro to ensure they stay in place aligned with the ends of the ABS belt!1 point

A modified Hasbro E-11 would work for basic and EIB. But a really good E-11 kit would be from doopydoos. They are cast from an original sterling (well, two actually) and is much more accurate then the aforementioned Hasbro one. It is also cheaper then hyperfirm and some other, since it is a kit. I have a doopydoos and it looks great, just takes a little while to ship (but then again, I live in the US and customs takes forever). https://www.doopydoos.com/stormtrooper-e-11-complete-anh-e-11-blaster-kit-offer-2685-p.asp1 point

Just moving along here with more updates - remaining two screws for the side of the scope installed. Green stuff came to save the day having drilled holes a tad too wide. All good now but man, working with micro screws was pretty tedious. [emoji2957][emoji28] Sent from my SM-G390W using Tapatalk1 point

Looks like you may have a few suiting up issues and will need a few more photos, the worst begin your shin closure's, neck seal sticking out, rotate the right leg thigh a little so it matches the left, could also bring down your biceps a little to reduce the gap at the elbow. Some of the armor looks very small on your with other pieces looking really large, you may want to trim your shoulder bells a little as they do look huge. Good luck with approval1 point

Well, the Centurion sadly will have to wait a few more days, but this weekend I'll get the pics and the application in, I promise1 point

Thanks for the reference photo. Seeing the amount of return edge on that real example actually makes me feel a lot better! I'll get that cover strip trimmed down before gluing - this was just one of my many test-fits to see how it looks. I'm hoping to start gluing later this week.1 point

My first time wearing all the completed armour! Well... the right thigh wasn't finished but I couldn't wait any longer! Not too bad of the first fitting! Now it's time for a walk outside...1 point

Still not 100% done. But I couldn’t resist the opportunity to don the suit for trunk or treat. Was an experience trying to get ready all the armor on, luckily my wife was able to help with some of the hard to reach parts. Definitely learned how hard it is to see! Couldn’t tell at almost any time where my daughter was. Stepped on her once or twice. Overall it was a fun learning experience. Pretty sure I had the thighs too high and they clipped the butt while walking. Also a good chance I clonked a kid with my weapon, honestly don’t know cause I couldn’t tell what or who bumped into me. My daughter of course had to wear her trooper suit as well. Unfortunately no helmet but she wasn’t in the mood for it. I had to switch the weapon around for the picture, I again couldn’t see where my daughter was and I was unintentionally pointing it right at her. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

ROTJ's are also very rare. There are more Legacy Era Female (Joker Squad) TK's in the Legion than there are ROTJ, if you can believe it. A good ROTJ TK is hard to find. I fan-boy'd over one myself at the last celebration. IIRC he was from Mountain Garrison?1 point

I’m not finished with my armor yet, but I chose ROTJ because 1) I love the look of them 2) as said above they are frequently used in Merch and 3) most importantly to me, they have many variations thanks to the new video games: magma troopers, bf heavy weapons troopers/se troopers, shock troopers, rocket troopers, etc. I like that I am able to make the armor, and then customixe it to any variation of it later.1 point

I chose ESB since it was the first Star Wars movie I ever saw (on TV). Unconventional, I know, but neither of my parents were fans so I was left to discover it on my own (I was 12) when the Special Editions came out lol.1 point

I was 13 when ANH came out, and I distinctly remember sitting in the theater seeing those TKs bursting into the Tantive IV and thinking "coolest... thing... EVER"!1 point

Like momma always says, "you're special in your own way." At least that's what I think when I see an ROTJ. I'm just kiddin', if it's a stormtrooper then it's good in my book! (By the way, most people go with ANH stunt either because that's the original movie, or because it just has that iconic stormtrooper look... or any other reason)1 point

ANH was the first one I had seen on the big screen so always had a special place in my heart, plus with one costume with some additional parts you can do a few others1 point

Honestly..as maligned as they are..I delibrately chose to do ROTJ over ANH. They are just so rare a sight, despite being on basically every piece of official merch for decades. And they do have a quirky charm about them.. Sent from my SM-J320FN using Tapatalk1 point

I chose mine, because I always thought it was cool when Han and Luke donned the armor on the Death Star. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

Thanks I messaged them. I had actually messaged them a while ago, when they had done some New Order blasters. At the time they weren't planning on any original Triology e-11s.1 point
