  1. I prefer using a Dremel (or knock off brand) cutting disc and sanding drum, but make sure you wear gloves, long sleeve shirt and safety glasses and mask, those little fibres can be annoying in the wrong spots External I use a combination of sanding drum, files, sandpaper and burr tips, come in all different shapes and sizes too and can really get into tight areas
  2. Gloves on last for me too, easy to swap out the cotton inner gloves then
  3. Nice work, nothing major that stands out for basic approval but you could do just a couple of tweaks: The chest plate appears to be sitting quite low, you don't have a lot of room between it and your ab plates. Thighs are at slightly different heights. Shoulder bells are very round on the corners, not so much on the references, you could move them in a little too. You have quite a large gap between the ab and kidney, perhaps try tighter strapping, makes your cod stick out on the side photos. Also are the thigh rivets painted white? You do have quite a large gap under the front bottom of the sniper plate, although this perhaps won't be seen in approval images Helmet trap decal (above brow trim) isn't quite central to the recessed area, also on cheek. If applying for higher levels you may wish to paint so they fit into the recesses a little better. Could also match both sides of paint on the vocoder You may want to bring up the brow a little, most references show a little white under the brow Ideally boot soles should be white/tan but for basic ok You may also be able to get your shoulder straps to sit down a little more on the back. Some tighter strapping between the back plate and kidney. Belt and TD could come up a bit. One other thing is your right thigh appears the overlap is showing slightly open, ideally you should overlap outside over inside so no gap is seen from the outside. Once again great work and good luck with approval
  4. Looking good. I used 16mm arms Legs 20mm Rear of shins 25mm Here are is one of the threads in pre approval noting some of the things needed to be upgraded for SDS, just as a reference https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/47281-jayse01-requesting-pre-approval-review/
  5. I'd say give it one more try, you notice yourself a few issues and they will get noticed for approval. Sniper plate under your thigh, biceps need to come up a little more, no room at elbows, ab/cod could still come up a bit to give you more room around the top of the thighs, shins appear at different heights but that could be the way you are standing. Belt boxes appear angled and not aligned with end of the plastic belt, you may need to reduce the length of the straps. Always a bit hard when the person taking the photos doesn't know exactly how you should look. Even having a full length mirror handy can help .
  6. Since the migration to the legion server there has been some issues with email and spam rejection, the legion web team are looking into the issues as we speak, more updates to come.
  7. Congratulations trooper and welcome to the EIB ranks
  8. Looks like you are well tooled. I am a bit lazy so I have 3 Dremel's (well cheaper versions) all with different tips, cutting, drum sander and drill/burr tool, it slows me down having to swap them out. Good luck with the progress.
  9. There has been discussion in regards to cleaning up the forum and trying to consolidate a lot of the more helpful info and How To threads, so yes this will be one that is added as well as many others, some older ones with incorrect info will also be removed. Also the team will be looking at trying to fix those missing photos and broken links, but that will be a long process.
  10. Congratulations trooper and welcome to the ranks
  11. I have a flat piece of foam on the top which sits on my head, I then have 2 thick pieces of foam, 1 either side of the head in front of the ears, these are a little tight and stop the helmet from moving around. Screen helmets had a strap which would hold the helmet in place, same principle as the blocks of foam
  12. I must have missed this before https://www.anovos.com/collections/first-order-stormtrooper/products/star-wars-first-order-stormtrooper-armor-kit-replacement-parts STAR WARS™ First Order Stormtrooper Armor Kit Replacement Parts (Pre-Order)$ 600.00
  13. Congratulations centurion and welcome to the ranks trooper
  14. Legion web team have been notified and are working on the issues
  15. Great news Ryan and welcome to the ranks trooper
  16. Congratulations once again trooper, well done
  17. As I said on Pathfinders, LFL need to employ some 501st costume advisors on the payroll to check costumes before filming
  18. I didn't bother mentioning it, you have them paired correctly in the other image I've added strips of ABS to overcut clone armor returns before, held up pretty well, just remember the yoke does take a lot of strain so the more strength you can give the better.
  19. It did take me a little while to hand mix a shade that worked, too many variants of white, helps with an airbrush and compressor. I'd be more inclined to try another white before converting to sandy, remember your GML goes on what they see in images and it's really not looking that bad right now
  20. Congratulations once again (now it's official) well done and welcome to the ranks trooper
  21. I just use generic compound polish, automotive normally in different grades, coarse, medium and fine, I generally only use the coarse and fine. I would say most automotive suppliers would carry compound polish.
  22. I'd have about the same room, a few pieces of foam will solve that. Also undersuit sleeve will fill some of the font when it bunches with gloves.
  23. Nice work. I do advise once you have everything placed where you want it and held with hot glue to just add a little E6000, I find it holds better and is not affected by any vibration, hot glue can come unstuck very easily
  24. Appears aNOvos can supply other things just not their pre orders ------
