Thanks. Yeah, acrylic works well. I really suck at clear coating. I don’t have a compressor so had to use cans before. I just couldn’t get a great finish with them. The good thing about the 2k spray is that as it has a hardener and is high gloss, no separate clear coat is needed. It’s touch dry in 30 mins. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk2 points

I’m only going off what the suppliers told me. It looks great up close once dried and polished though. Paint code is TC10 which I assume is a generic code. Failing that, it’s bought in the uk but I’m sure it’s available stateside. It’s 2k so you have to activate a hardener in the can before use. Shake really well but plan your painting. It goes off in the can after 7-8 hours.2 points

After a few troops, you will get scratches. This can come from bumping into things and your armor pieces rubbing together when they are in your bin. For my Stunt and Hero armor I made cloth pouches for each piece to prevent this. You can/should also line the inside of your armor bin with 1 inch thick foam to help it from being banged around during transport. For light scuffs, I keep a "Mr. Clean Magic Eraser" pad handy, and for scratches I use the Novus scratch removal polishes. The two ounce 3 step kit is available online for about 12 bucks. As mentioned above, being a little lot OCD I like to stay as screen accurate (and comfortable) as I can. When doing a review for higher levels we take into consideration not just the CRL, but screen references (photos) as well, and occasionally we ask that excessive return edges be reduced. As Eric mentioned, those shoulder bells are 40 years old, lol and got banged around a lot. I personally have never heard of anyone's armor becoming warped, but I suppose it could happen if your bin is stored in a hot place. If you have any questions or concerns (no matter how small) always feel free to ask here on the boards. When in doubt, ask before cutting, and photos help a LOT. You are also more than welcome to PM me if you you need advice on your EI or Centurion application (or anything for that matter). Hope this helps!2 points

If only we had zippers inside our forearms like the screen used kits! Life would be a lot easier. Pretty sure your gaskets need to be flipped - the double strap goes to the front. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro2 points

We don't punish a new trooper for buying a recast armour, that wouldn't be fair on them. We will not however condone recasting, allow sellers of recasts to sell here, and will heavily recommend away from them. This hasn't changed. Do people come here with recast armour? Yes, we help them get the most of that armour with the goal of joining the 501st and being the best trooper they can. Will we recommend seller? No. There have been a number of recast incidents recently, but for the most part none of them have become a large seller which is a small victory and probably due to the effort put in by members here to direct new recruits to reliable vendors.2 points

Hey, just wanted to review my blaster and spread the word on these. The details are crazy good, weight is great, and overall a great piece to have. Look them up if you can. Great product. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

Looks good to me, you could however trim the plates themselves a bit to match the screen used ones1 point

Thanks Darren. The recommended white looked awful. Nowhere near a match. Colorite were super helpful. I only went there as it’s local and they custom mix paint. He confirmed that it will be impossible to paint match the Anovos plastic. But for him to bring out all of the movie sample cards and point me to the correct white was awesome. I finished my belt off too. Great kit. Just need to mount the boxes. speaking of the boxes, whoever poured the resin at Anovos has done an awful job. Bubbles and imperfections all over. Maybe Ryan and Reggie got moved out of live chat to do it!1 point

Yes, this is mine. When I did this I was more concerned about the ammo pack laying flat along the thigh. I did not notice that most TKs the ammo belt is has a upward tilt to it. This is evidenced by my picture vs the one you inserted. It is on my list of things to correct for EIB. I am in the process of ordering new thigh ammo belt. The one from my FX kit I haven't really liked that much after reviewing other armor kits.1 point

Hey Michael, Just to make sure that I'm understanding correctly, the pics you've shared are not your armor, but you're using them as an example, correct? Think of the cod/thigh connection as puzzle pieces. They should fit each other, right? I suggest putting the torso and thighs on first. Get a pencil. You'll need to do this process both visually as well as physically. Now, stand in front of a mirror. Look at where the thighs overlap the cod. The cod serves as a template for your trim line. Using your pencil, trace a mark onto the thighs along the edge of the cod. Make your line on the thigh slightly along the inner edge the cod (this makes a conservative trim line). Take off your thighs. Trim conservatively along your trim line. You will most likely be trimming more along the inner thigh than anywhere else. Try your thighs on again with your torso. Now move your legs around a little bit. You should notice where the plastic is still clipping the cod by feel or by sound. Once you've isolated those areas, mark them with your pencil. Remove the thighs and trim again (conservatively). Try on the thighs with the torso again. Move around a bit. Check for any areas where the thighs are hitting the cod and mark them. Remove the thighs and trim again. See a pattern here? To get it right, it's a tedious process of "try on, mark, take off, trim, repeat". Take your time, and you'll get it right! Good luck! Oh, and one more thing... that rivet needs to be relocated on the ammo pack. Screen reference below: But if this isn't your armor, then disregard.1 point

Still have to work on the ears a bit and maybe touching up the vocoder, but I’m happy with how it’s going. Setting it aside to work on other things.1 point

If the price listed on the website is USD, then I don’t see taking the risk on these snaps as being worth it. You’d only be saving $0.50 USD if that’s the case relative to Tandy Snaps on Amazon. However, since it’s an Australian website, if the price is in the Australian dollar, then I can see the incentive to try it. What I’d recommend, if you do purchase them, is to test them out on an especially mobile joint before you do a full installation. In other words, try some of the snaps on the elbow joint (forearm-to-bicep). Move it around a bit to see if the snaps come loose or hold. If they hold after some persistent arm waving, then do another joint and test. I obviously don’t have any experience with these particular snaps, but I can vouch for the Tandy snaps. They work well. If it’s a matter of saving $0.50 USD for the same amount of snaps, don’t bother. Otherwise, I encourage you to test it and let others know what comes of it!1 point

First I would like to thank you for this thread, as my armor is new I am still concerned with every scratch and mark like a new car or pair of shoes. Removing the return edges seems to be good preventative measures to reduce future issues. Is there any exceptions or considerations for reaching higher levels when removing return edges? Without return edges I wonder if some parts will lose their shape, like the one image of a shoulder bell above that seems a bit warped?1 point

Normally doesn’t take them too long, although they are down a few staff members Congratulations trooper, well done1 point

Only just saw this, and thanks for mentioning my work! With my systems you get everythin needed to install the fans, with the exception to the powerbank [emoji6] Here's a pick of my TK system... The switch plate mounts to the hovi mic bolts for easy installation [emoji846]... Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk1 point

Just on the Anovos RS thing, yes there was some discussion of this down to the parts comparison to prove it, but in the end that was an agreement between Anovos and RS so in that case its not recasting without permission and then attempting to profit from it in a dishonest fashion. FWIW they also did something very similar with their AT-AT driver helmet, then lied openly about the source and how they got the colour match etc. They are unscrupulous in their own ways sadly, Germain, you are correct, we need to keep this forum on topic and about Episode IX Stormtrooper. Any more recast discussion should take place here https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/forum/50-recast-discussion/1 point

I built my kit on an Ikea Lack table in my lounge over a sheet. You don't need as much space as you think. (A Lack table is 55cm/21.5" square)1 point

Other than what's already been mentioned above if you could post a photo with just you that would be helpful in directing the advice.1 point

Adding some foam to the inside of the armor, on the outer of the leg will help bring the thigh a little straighter. Really depends how it fits on your thigh too if you have a lot of room in there they will float so either some foam or even trimming a V section out of the rear could help.1 point
