My ATA shins are long on the outside, so yea they can differ between suppliers.1 point

Well in all my costume prefixes I don't have a TX so suppose I'm looking at getting one now It would have been nice though to see out the new trilogy films with the final Stormtrooper version falling under the FISD and TK designation, YER I know Spec Ops get's specialist troopers but it is still the base of a Stormtrooper. Reading the Phasma comic yesterday and there's a Stormtrooper with the id prefix DB, I want to be a Dead Beat too1 point
-
Yes, it would be SpecOps. FISD is the home of white armor troopers (and painted white armor), using standard armor. All colored troopers go to SpecOps, as well as those troopers that have customizations. In hindsight the Sky trooper for instance should be in SpecOps, and one could argue the same for Legacy Era and perhaps even the McQuarrie trooper.1 point

Huh! I never noticed that difference in the shins before. Maybe its an Anovos vs AP thing. Or maybe my shins are backwards. Either way, Ukswrath is the guy to listen to!1 point

Here it is ladies and gentleman!! These are the pics I submitted on my pre approval post. I didn't have any adjustments necessary for basic approval, so I went ahead and submitted my application. I initially aimed at achieving EI or Centurion, so I'll continue posting those fixes on this thread. But for now...1 point

Thanks! One shoulder strap is installed. The second one and internal white elastic straps will be installed tonight. Progress is slow as I only have so many clamps. I have to balance them with doing all the cover strips. I can then do another fitment check with the thigh armor to look at spacing You know what, screw it. I'm going shopping for more clamps tonight!1 point

dye stains are a monster to get out. Almost worth re-staining it with white dye to combat. High grit sandpaper and patience of a saint unfortunately is how I got the one off my shoulders.1 point

Many thanks for new refs!!! Indeed awesome build! Gonna update armor asap, helmet mk2 has been prepped for moulding. I wanted to release it fully painted, but Hot Toys revealed all sooner than I expected! Will show pics soon! BR Denis Отправлено с моего SM-G955F через Tapatalk1 point

HAHAHAHAHA. Nice photoshopping. Now all it needs is to be placed in one of anovos’ spam emails with 10 different emoji’s in the subject text. I know the design is real according to the upcoming 3rd part of the mouse’s line of *alleged* “star wars” movies, but honestly the design looks like something that was from deviantart and other similar imagehosting sites with fanart and disgusting blogs (you know what they are). I look forward to more Classic TK’s joining our ranks in the future. #GalacticEmpire4Life1 point

This is in fact false. The shore trooper biceps have been found to contain velcro strips underneath the rear trim, just below the complex elastic string system. There are plenty of closeups of this. Same would most likely go for the stormtroopers, as they have the same undercuts (just different color) and aside from the addition of the thighs, should be no difference.1 point

Exactly! So frustrating watching an item with like 3 days left and the goofballs are all trying to outman each other! So dense lol. I also remove myself from the watchlist so I am full stealth mode before I strike1 point

Oh I almost forgot , I scored this on ebay for 26 bucks ( Im the evil bastard who comes in at the last second and outbids you hah). This is a great piece, unlike the POS I bought from a site which shall remain nameless in the UK1 point

Thanks! Putting it on is a little awkward , it will definitely be more so once it is attached to the abdominal armor lol. My kit doesn't have add on boxes they are "molded" on, so I intend to rivet at the top hidden edge and then a copious amount of MA310 to the lower rigilene hoop and cross my fingers1 point

Thank you Ryan. Honored to join your ranks.1 point

I have started the pouches and nearly finished the suspension harness. I am no tailor ( had to borrow a sewing machine) so be gentle with your criticisms haha!1 point

Looking gooood! Wrist return edges (or more specifically, lack thereof) are perfect. Those shins are right! Admittedly I did second guess myself and went to check my own shins, but yes, you hve them lined up properly. As far as those little thigh gaps/cracks, as far as I know you don't have to do anything to them and you'll still be fine for all levels of approval. If you want to tidy them up, I hear ABS paste is a popular choice. Personally, I used PlasticWeld, let it dry, sanded and painted it enamel white. I'm also considering making mobility cuts in the back of my shins and thighs, which renders the back gaps non existent anyway. Something to think about!1 point

As promised here are the pictures with everything glued. Just need dome guidance on the shins before glue on the cover strips. Let me know if anything needs adjusted. Thanks in advance. Biceps Forearms Thighs, will be fixing the gaps at some point. Shins, what a pain. cant tell if i have them mixed up. i tried to follow the flow with the long edge on te outside and the bump inside. Might jsut take them to my next troop and have one of the other TK's take a look at them for me.1 point

Cricket nailed it. This has happened to me before after just throwing everything in a bin. Exactly what she said. Wet sand with 400 grit, then move up to 600, etc I did all the way to 1600. Then once it was gone I used novus to polish it back up. I spent probably 2 hours total on it one night while watching TV. I had two spots to do.1 point

Thanks @ukswrath I don't know where I got the 25mm from. I've now a lot of 20mm coverstrips to finish the project. Today I had a confidence boost, a military grade haircut and I needed to do something sensible after my dayjob. I returned to my old enemy: Thighs! Right one wasn't a problem. Left one on the front was also pretty easy. Again looks like there's no right or wrong when it comes to the upper part of the rigde on the left thigh. Saw RS with the ridge running out sideways at the top and saw with a straight ridge. For me it seems like you can do what you want and it depends on how you cut your thigh there. Back was more of a problem. Really struggled to get the raised area on the lower end in one line. Also was afraid that I had cut too much. However I twisted and turned the thigh I didn't get a really straight line. This is the closest I could get there. Also have to remove the return edge at the upper end and some of the return edge on the lower end. Any suggestions so far? Or "Looks good, put glue on it" Moving in these things is pretty funny so far. Not sure if I made them to small or if it's just because they aren't attached anywhere so far. Like when I was working on these things before: My real thighs are in the way of my plastic thighs and I'm a little stuck in the middle1 point

Mike, regarding helmet, I just realized, that comment was made on the helmet pre-adjustments. If you look, I uploaded a new series of photos. I will put that link here as well. I got that angle as close to it as possible. I couldnt move the one screw, so only that one screw is slightly off center. This right side photo is with the adjustment made to the helmet ear and the bottom photo of the helmet right side as well. Thank you very much.1 point

I bought both. The Pyle is ridiculously loud but in my experience, hard to fine tune. Turn it barely on and it's plenty loud. I ended up using it in my radio to play TD chatter and have the 1506 and TKTalkie in my left shoulder tool pouch (it fits perfectly). I run cabling through a discrete hole in the back and up to the ammo pouch where I have my battery, and wireless receiver stored.1 point
