  1. Here's my opinion/answer to question 2. I chose the butt joining method for the TK limbs because it is screen accurate. It looks better to me too. You have to ask yourself what your ultimate goal is with your TK armor project. Do you want to be in the 501st? If so, then the overlap method is perfectly fine. I did the overlap method with my first FX kit (however that kit was built without my knowledge of whitearmor.net). BUT if you want to be in the 501st AND take your armor to the next level by also being accepted into the levels of EIB and Centurion status here on the FISD then butt joining is what you need to do.
  2. You never forget your first brown box
  3. You took my idea. I want that music for my entrance to my reception . . . it that ever happens
  4. As long as you are using good card stock paper it should hold up. Here in the states we use 110 lb cardstock for pepakura. I don't know what the Euro equivalent is. Here is a good FAQ page about pepakura http://www.405th.com/showthread.php/3008-The-Ultimate-Pepakura-FAQ
  5. I have a Darman one too. Fast shipping. top quality products!
  6. How big of a person was the suit originally made for and how big are you? Wait . . . has this thing been fully assembled yet? Looking at the second picture it looks like the halves of the legs were shipped unassembled. Are the pieces just laying on the floor in the last shot?
  7. Thanks. I'll try best to have a good Friday where I'm at . . . NOT at CVI
  8. Great. Now someone show us how to put that rivet in the actual place on the armor that it goes; ie right thigh piece Once my thigh piece is already assembled I doubt I'd be able to work with a hammer inside of the thigh trying to fasten a rivet there
  9. I do have coilovers now. I don't have them dialed all the way down because the roads where I live are crap and I don't wanna have to replace a cracked oil pan. My obsession with Star Wars armor is already the expensive hobby I'm dediated too I do though wanna widen my stance
  10. very cool!
  11. Ask for for the right arms then. The left forearm looks made for a left arm, it would need more work to look "right". BTW, you are being too fussy. Those armor idiosyncrasies are what make a TK a TK
  12. http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=8117&st=0 I used the French Blue. I like it
  13. Armor looks really good. Are you missing the plastic belt button covers? I don't see them on your belt
  14. That's what I did recently. I'll post up a picture of them later today. They came out great. 11mm width of the buttons
  15. Good job so far. NIce ears
  16. I just did mine this past weekend. I used a 1/8" drill bit to make the hole into the Hyperfirm. I drilled all the way through. I cut about 15mm from the chain link
  17. I think 6 ft might be the limit for an ATA, (IMO). Do your research check out the other ATA builds that have been done & compare their physical stats with yours. I'll be posting up my recently completed ATA pictures later tonight.
  18. I think the ammo belt on the right thigh needs to have more curve than just a rounded off corner. Other than that, looks good to me.
  19. Agreed. I wish armor makers would just supply their armor with inner drop boxes .
  20. If drop boxes are "supposed to/should" be closed, could someone be approved with drop boxes that were solid? What if someone poured some resin and made solid boxes? mmmmmm
  21. I hand painted my latest helmet project. The most challenging part to paint was the tube stripes only because it involved creating a stencil. I traced the tube stripe decals I already had onto some decal vinyl I had and made my own stencil. I have steady hands so painting the rest of the helmet was a "snap".
  22. They do offer kits. Actually from those folks you mentioned. PLenty more info for TDs on MEPD.net
  23. I saw someone's EIB request recently and the helmet detail that stood out from my observation as not looking right (IMO) is that they used screws for the ears that were rounded at the top or dome shaped. Most of the helmets I have seen have had flat topped screws. Fellow FISD members thoughts?
  24. THat is a great idea notching the ends of the TD tube. Well done.
