  1. Is that you as Mara Jade, Ingrid? You look great! I haven't been able to go to WonderCon since they moved it away from the Bay Area plus they have it during Easter weekend.
  2. Well you got the blaster and neck seal right. Lets work on that armor You don't have any problem putting on and removing the helmet with those size gauges in your ears
  3. All that strapping stuff you should be able to find at a fabric store like Joanns: webbing buckles, velcro, thread, belt fabric, foam padding, elastic, snaps, e6000, etc. I only needed Home Depot and Lowes for spray paint and the aluminum bar for my canister.
  4. Anyone else think the helmet tube stripes are too straight? They look straight with a slight bend to them. All the ones I've seen are more curved like the reference picture below.
  5. I have yet to see a screen accurate or 501st acceptable pepakura Stormtrooper. I do not have "unlimited funds". I know how to save my money for the things I want.
  6. http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/11538-the-various-types-of-armor-and-where-to-find-them/ Get in contact with the Golden Gate Garrison, they are there to assist you. http://www.goldengategarrison.com/main.php
  7. Looks good so far. I used the first set of split rivets (the shorter ones) on my last armor build. Those really are short inner arm pieces. I think it looks fine as it is right now though. It'll help you when you need to bend your arms. I've had my fair share of armor pinch in that area. You're such a good employee to build that for your boss .
  8. Yeah, those are probably the ones he's talking about. Definitely need to change the elastic portion. Overall $95 + 50 for those boots You couldn't find black ones with the correct elastic and paint those? Definitely cheaper that route but hey he got it done
  9. My view on ebay armor is that you shouldn't buy from folks who are "armor vendors". Once and awhile you will find 501st members or other prop collectors (who know their stuff) who are selling quality items on ebay. Looks like you found an FX. At this point, it is passable for 501st membership. BUt if you've been lurking around these forums I'm sure you've noticed that there are better alternatives to the FX armor.
  10. Please take time to read these threads concerning ebay armor http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/18454-the-n00bs-list-of-bad-ebay-armor/page__hl__%20ebay http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/19329-where-what-and-whom-to-avoid-when-buying/
  11. Having good feedback on ebay has nothing to do with their reputation with the 501st.
  12. Perhaps it has something to due with UK vs USA plastics. I noticed my hero ears from John Danter were slightly cream colored compared to my AP helmet. (Oh wait AP is Canadian). I've also had TM ESB handplates and those had a bright white/blue tint to them.
  13. Sure http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/8117-helmet-ab-paint-detail-reference-guide/
  14. I wonder if anyone will confess to "messing up" with painting their armor/helmets and say "Darn it, I'll just cover my mistake with some weathering and be a sandtrooper instead"
  15. OMG, Christoph won . . . again!! Well done
  16. I like Argo but I didn't love it. It was good. I like how it dealt with the late 1970s sci fi craze that Star Wars created. The last scene was with 'Darth Vader' Christoph Waltz performance in Django Unchained was awesome. I did like Silver Linings Playbook.
  17. I knew JJ Abrams would deliver a quality film
  18. That looks great. You did a fine job. Yeah, I don't like the sides of the current FX/AM chest pieces. They taper down too low. It looks fine right now but do you plan to add a return edge.
  19. If you want to make a Stormtrooper through pepakura go ahead. If you're aspirations are to join the 501st though I highly doubt it would be approved.
