Hero Belt - Removable Holster w/ Snaps (HOWTO) As part of my effort to be able to avoid redundancy, I plan on swapping my holster between my hero and stunt belts. I would also like the option to swap out my E-11 holster for an SE-14R holster, or an imperial binder holder at some point in the future. I could just use the chicago screws I have been using, but I'm not a huge fan as 1.) they scratch up my kidney plate and 2.) they take time to remove and re-install. So, I present an alternative solution, using pop rivets and snaps to allow for easy removal while still staying screen accurate. Step 1: Using a 3/16" drill bit, manually drill out the center of a male snap fitting. I am using Tandy line 24 nickel plates snaps, but any snap of the correct size would probably do. Even though these snaps have a 3/16" center post, it is just a tad too small to allow a similar sized pop rivet through the hole. Step 2: Place your snap on the inside of the belt (facing armor) and push a 3/16" aluminum pop rivet through the opposite side: [I forgot to take a photo, oops!] Then, using a rivet gun, set the rivet inside the snap. Hold the snap and rivet tightly together as you start pulling the rivet through the gun - this ensures a nice snug fit with no gaps. The ball bearing may fall out, but the rivet should have deformed enough to hold the snap on tightly. You may need to use the snap setting tool to clean up/compress the interior if this happens. Step 3: Repeat four more times (or two, for a Stunt belt!). The end result should be something like this: Step 4: Mount female snaps to the holster as normal. The holster can now be snapped to the belt and removed as needed: I find the domed side is more resistant to scratching armor than the slotted heads of the chicago screws I was using previously. In my case, I'm re-using a holster I got second hand (came with the extra Anovos bits) so there were a few extra holes I didn't need. See my Stunt build thread for more details. So, there you have it. For any additional holsters, just repeat Step 4, making sure your holes line up with the snaps. I made a photocopy of one of the holster straps before installing the snaps so I can use it as a template down the road. If swapping between Stunt and Hero belts the uppermost snaps will sit behind the belt, un-used.

Hero Belt - Stunt Conversion (AKA, two more holes) Thankfully, turning a stunt belt into a hero belt is far, far easier than the other way around. All it took was a bit of measuring to make sure the two new holes would line up properly and then it was just a matter of punching the holes: I like to use some fray check to seal the fabric, to reduce the chances of tearing: ...And that's it!

Un-paused (though helmet purchase TBD): In case you didn't read the thread, I'm converting my stunt belt for use with the Hero suit, so I'll need a new belt for this one to stay Centurion accurate. I've gone ahead and ordered a new (slightly shorter) belt from Rob. For the rest, well... Stunt Belt, Hero Belt & Belt Repair I bought a used Anovos belt off of the Legion forums a few months ago for $60. The seller had bought it from someone else and ended up not needing it. At some point someone had rebuilt it, but I wasn't a fan of how they had done so - they simply cut the plastic off of the canvas portion of the belt and then used a combination of glue and Velcro to attach it to the new one. Here's some pictures from the sale thread, for reference: Here's the same belt, one I'd received it and dismantled it: I'm going to be using the holster for my Hero belt, while the plastic bits are going to become Stunt Belt 2.0. There is too much glue on the canvas belt to re-use, sadly, even though the size is perfect. If anyone wants a 39" TKittell belt, it's yours (FREE!), just pay shipping. One of the first things I've done is give the plastic portion a hot water bath as it seems to have warped at some point. Before: After: I then drilled out the rivets and removed what remained of the original cloth belt: I haven't removed the caps yet. I'm a little scared because my track record isn't so great - on the first belt I destroyed two of them and sliced my thumb open. EDIT - Forgot to mention the holster! I had to measure and re-do the holes in the straps as it was mounted way too close to the belt, as well as making it work for two or four mounting points (stunt vs. hero for you folks who don't read CRLs): Old holes on the left. Strap is upside-down from original configuration. Top hole mounted to the holster, bottom hole was the hole used to mount to the canvas belt. There was zero gap between the two. I ended trimming roughly 1/8" total length to ensure a 1" gap between the holster and belt. I then used cap rivets to re-attach them to the holster (it used chicago screws previously) as well as replacing the pop rivet used to hold the strap that keeps the blaster in with another rapid cap rivet.

Spend too much money together?

There has been a lot of negativity surrounding FISD and our former DMBO lately and I thought I would inject some positivity instead of the mudslinging that the Legion boards seem to have (sadly) devolved to. I don't know Wyatt. I've talked with him via PM in my role as an attache a few times at most. Regardless of charges or what you think of him, he has poured everything into the Legion and this detachment for over a decade, from handling nearly every merch run on FISD to running Imperial Gaskets. I know I've only been a Legion member since November, but Wyatt... thanks for everything you have done for us here.

Grappling Hook Box - Dimensions As already stated I will be making this myself (or attempting to at least). Here are my current "best guess" measurements based on screen grabs: The box seems to be roughly as deep as the ridge on the forearms (a little over an inch): My friend has a vacformer so pretty soon I'll make a buck and do some test pulls. Already working on tracking down a screen-accurate toggle switch for the box, too.

Back in the saddle again! I've always been a huge fan of the Hero TK, and as someone who is a 'little short to be a stormtrooper' I felt it was time to embrace it. I plan on going "full Hero" so that means grappling hook, comlink, alternative hand plates, and a promo blaster and holster because why not. Why a conversion? Since space (and funds!) are tight, I'm reusing everything that is common between the Stunt and Hero suits - so in this case, I'll need a new belt, new helmet, and a few accessories, and the rest will be my existing Stunt suit. Helmet I'll be purchasing a helmet from Troopermaster as, as far as I can tell, he's the only one with a different sculpt for the helmet (vs. changing out teeth and ears) and as such, the only screen accurate helmet, look-wise. Hopefully the TM plastic is a "good enough" match for Anovos'. Belt I was originally planning on building a second belt for my Hero, but has since decided to convert my existing Stunt belt. Why? My current belt has more overlap than I prefer, and you can see it sticking out past my TD: So, I will instead convert this belt over as it won't need a TD and get a new, shorter belt from Rob, so you won't see the overlap when the TD is on (which will look cleaner, IMO). Grappling Hook & Box Here is where it gets tricky. I had no problem getting a hook, but there don't seem to be all that many options out there for the box, so I'm going off screen reference and building my own. Comlink Again, building my own here based on screen reference.. Hand Plates Waiting on Joseph. SE-14R (the "promo blaster") I will keep blaster build updates in its own thread, which I've already started, here: I do need to get a holster for it from Darman at some point, though... So that's where I'm at so far, more updates to come!

Forossa requesting pre-approval review (Anovos)

You can also pad out the back of thigh as well, if you need just bit more help. -
Advanced mode! I would caution anyone who uses the (ABS paste) method to be extremely careful, as if you are not you could seriously warp / damage your armor. Acetone is scary stuff!

She didn't say anything about the reception though!

Our garrison doesn't do birthday parties either... we have enough events to fill the calendar without having to deal with the pitfalls Joseph and Chris have already mentioned.

Garrison Titan FOTK Build Thread

Yeah that doesn’t look like it’d be functional. -
TKBoots is in the process of closing shop, so they are sold out/runnung low depending on size. Those run more or less true to size (maybe a tad narrow). The other vendor people tend to go with is ImperialBoots but those are a ‘C’ width boot so I would order a size up. Anything else I would stay away from as they tend to be cheap and/or inaccurate.

It looks like they are covered in tons of caked-on mud doesn't it. -
Hello fellow troopers, I'm Brien from Northern Nevada (we don't have our own Squad/Garrison... yet!). My 501st journey started back in 2014 when one of my coworkers (TB-10620) joined and started suggesting I look into it. I did, and liked what I saw - a bunch of 'bad guys doing good'. I found the FISD and started looking into various armor kits... and then TFA came out and I fell in love with the FO TK's. I decided to hold out, and when Anovos finally announced the production FO TK kit I pre-ordered one as soon as I could. I then started working on procuring the rest of the soft goods and printing out my own blaster with Germain's excellent files. After several months of waiting, another one of my friends decided to off-load an Anovos ANH TK kit he'd picked up and never assembled. After two years of sitting in the box he decided he wasn't ever going to get around to building it, so I bought it off him in October 2017 and gave myself the goal of building it in time for the Battlefront II troop - which I did. I was approved on Thanksgiving Day, and since I planned on building for L3 out of the box, EIB and Centurion approvals came quickly after. I've loved every second of my time as an "official" member - I have handled off and on since 2015 - and the entire experience. Wearing a costume I built with my own two hands (I am not a cosplayer, this is all new to me), trooping with my fellow brothers, and hanging out and helping here on the forums. ...I'm still waiting on my Anovos FOTK.
