  1. Nice work, a different approach than I took but end result is superb all the same.
  2. If you plan on going TFA the standard line helmets are already out there are (fairly) easy to find. Its the TLJ ones you may be waiting a year+ for.
  3. The print version has one like your image, I had to simplify for the forum versions: The other versions look really messy when scaled down to these sizes.
  4. Centurion and Attache awards have been updated with both logos as well: Lastly, while I doubt we'll ever see achievement award levels 16+, here's a framed version for if/when it ever happens:
  5. Okay, gave the half-and-half helmet a try, IMO its a step backwards as its just a blurry mess of pixels (non-half OT is still as bad): Went back and updated my Empire/FO symbols, made some tweaks so it would look better at smaller sizes: vs old: I've also made a dark text variant for white backgrounds: Thanks for the feedback everyone.
  6. We’ve got a good 5 years (at least, please, Disney!) before we need to worry about that but it is something to think about.
  7. You know the logo for the ranks isn’t the actual logo right? Its the beret flash. The logo is not changing...
  8. Yes and that looks pretty good scaled down, I’ll make the change(s).
  9. Hey Tim and thanks for the feedback: 1. Seeing as we are a fake space military I think its okay to veer from actual protocol on that, maybe? 2. I did a both version it would just need to be cleaned up:
  10. That too.
  11. I'll give it a try if time permits, I personally prefer the beret flash as it's simplified and at these smaller sizes I prefer it that way (also FO TK inclusion)... but worth looking into. Thanks Daniel. @themaninthesuitcase I've removed the gold text option as I agree, blue border is more consistent but doesn't have as much "wow" factor. I'll let Paul and co. decide.
  12. You don’t have to sit this out, just saying other people can voice their opinions/concerns as well. I’m receptive to feedback folks!
  13. People other than Paul feel free to chime in, only a couple days left for feedback.
  14. Good luck on your build.
  15. Baby steps, better than nothing but I still wish they'd sell parts individually instead of per-limb.
  16. Condensing the recent discussion for reference and any further feedback. Current proposal for levels is as follows: Service/Achievement Award Levels [No Stars] * ** *** **** * ** *** **** * ** *** **** ***** ****** GOLD FRAME w/ [No Stars] GOLD FRAME w/ * GOLD FRAME w/ ** GOLD FRAME w/ *** GOLD FRAME w/ **** GOLD FRAME w/ * GOLD FRAME w/ ** GOLD FRAME w/ *** GOLD FRAME w/ **** GOLD FRAME w/ * GOLD FRAME w/ ** GOLD FRAME w/ *** GOLD FRAME w/ **** GOLD FRAME w/ ***** GOLD FRAME w/ ****** Expert Infantry Badge Levels OR [No Stars] * ** *** **** * ** *** **** * ** *** **** ***** ******
  17. Sticking to those colors, for EIB, maybe blue stars after gold so we can bump that up to 15 too? Or for more differentiation: Just an idea.
  18. @Daetrin A few more options (probably too many, but again let's figure this out now). Going back to the military well, ribbons can have gold/silver borders in addition to stars to denote additional awards/etcetera: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gold_frame Quick mockup of gold/platinum frames: So, if we run with this, a couple options (going to start from D to avoid confusion with the last post): D.) No platinum stars, gold frame for 16+: [No Stars] * ** *** **** * ** *** **** * ** *** **** ***** ****** GOLD FRAME w/ [No Stars] GOLD FRAME w/ * GOLD FRAME w/ ** GOLD FRAME w/ *** GOLD FRAME w/ **** GOLD FRAME w/ * GOLD FRAME w/ ** GOLD FRAME w/ *** GOLD FRAME w/ **** GOLD FRAME w/ * GOLD FRAME w/ ** GOLD FRAME w/ *** GOLD FRAME w/ **** GOLD FRAME w/ ***** GOLD FRAME w/ ****** This takes you to 30 years before a change is needed. E.) Platinum stars and platinum frame (color coordination means no gold frame in this case): [No Stars] * ** *** **** * ** *** **** * ** *** **** * ** *** **** ***** ****** PLATINUM FRAME w/ [No Stars] PLATINUM FRAME w/ * PLATINUM FRAME w/ ** PLATINUM FRAME w/ *** PLATINUM FRAME w/ **** PLATINUM FRAME w/ * PLATINUM FRAME w/ ** PLATINUM FRAME w/ *** PLATINUM FRAME w/ **** PLATINUM FRAME w/ * PLATINUM FRAME w/ ** PLATINUM FRAME w/ *** PLATINUM FRAME w/ **** PLATINUM FRAME w/ * PLATINUM FRAME w/ ** PLATINUM FRAME w/ *** PLATINUM FRAME w/ **** PLATINUM FRAME w/ ***** PLATINUM FRAME w/ ****** Eight year difference, so really depends on if you like the frames and/or platinum stars.
  19. I still think the logical progression is platinum (and diamond beyond that if anyone ever makes it beyond twenty years) since almost everyone has it as the next level after gold: It may be best to get this figured out now. I don't know what you anticipate to be the upper limit for years or service, but I'm worried about creating ever-higher awards if we get into the 30+ year range. A few options: A.) Stop at 15 years as in previous post. Either no further awards after 15 years, special 16+ year award, or new ribbon/award for 16+ years. B.) Platinum, 5/6 stars "special", no more stars 19 years (23 if diamond is added and 5/6 reserved for diamond level), sparkles or something for 20+: [No Stars] * ** *** **** * ** *** **** * ** *** **** * ** *** **** ***** ****** Same as 19 but with sparkles C.) 5/6 stars on all levels (would also affect EI if being consistent, which means gold EI awards would now start at #8 instead of #6. Caps out at 25 years (31 w/ additional level): [No Stars] * ** *** **** ***** ****** * ** *** **** ***** ****** * ** *** **** ***** ****** * ** *** **** ***** ****** ???? (sparkles?) I don't really like option "C" because the intent behind the 5/6 star circlets was that they should be a special thing used only at the highest level as one last little piece of bling, I also don't want to take away stars from people who have earned a certain level of service/EIB (as this system would demote those currently with gold service/EI badges). Personally I would lean for B.) with a silver/gold/platinum (capped at 15) system for EI. If you've been on staff for more than 20 years you get a car or something.
  20. Yeah, can always retroactively add bronze EI stars if someone gets to 13+ or redo the ribbon stars if/when someone gets to sixteen years of service, this'll do for now. PSDs will still be here in 2021 if we need to add/make changes.
  21. Fitting 7 stars on one ribbon isn't going to look very good in my opinion, which is why a second row is used in real-life. Hence my suggestion of capping at 15.
  22. It's sort of a chicken-and-egg scenario, you have to make something before it can be approved and added to a CRL. As long as you have enough reference/source photos, I'd say go for it.
  23. In short (you get ASCII art, I'm lazy): [No Stars] * ** *** **** * ** *** **** * ** *** **** ***** ****** 16+: Same as 15, maybe animated with sparkles?
  24. Personally, I think going to a different ribbon for years 10+ would be more confusing that sticking to a single level-up system? It may be weird that the ribbons have 5/6 star versions in bronze/silver/gold but EI only goes to 5/6 stars for gold (and not the silver ones), and I wouldn't want to change it since it would move the goalpost for a gold EI award. If you stick to the EI scheme where five and six stars are only for gold, you could still cap it at 15 years if that's a good cutoff for you?
  25. You would still need two rows because of the way it "fills" up. If you don't want double rows it limits options to more stars and/or more levels past gold. I could bring over the five/six star design from the EI proposal, which would get us to 19 years: If you want to go that route, I'd suggest making a 20+ award and capping like the EI award images at 11 for the same reasons, don't see a lot of 20+ year service awards being handed out much like I don't see that many people (let's be honest, probably just Glen) getting twelve or more EI awards.
