    Trading Cards

Yeah sorry Justin, all legion merch including PR materials and Trading cards are only available to approved 501st members as Glen says above. You can however collect members cards as many hand them out at troops, but once you have a costume from a specific detachment like FISD and it is approved, you will gain more access to sections of the forums you cant currently see. This includes our merch, Trading cards etc. Hope that helps.
  3. Super nice costumes Don, welcome to FISD!
  4. I can help you with that Roger. Firstly, dont directly upload onto the forums as you only have limited space. Use a 3rd party hosting service such as Imgur. Instructions on how to use are here. Secondly, I have accessed your account but I can't see any. attachments. You look to have a full quota of space available still, so unless someone has beat me to it, you are good to try again.
  5. Wow Ryan, very cool indeed.
  6. Wow that is shiny, hope you can sort out the orange peel on those parts you mentioned.
  7. I believe Chris's issue is with the cap rather than the face plate Also glad the video isn't working as its Ainsworth and he doesn't deserve the airtime after the stunt he pulled lying about who designed the Stormtrooper in the first place.
  8. You may need to cut the plastic near the undercuts while hot then use an airgun to help lift it off. Wont be able to do that when cold so as soon as you stop the vac get cutting and blowing while it has a little give.
  9. Hi Ben, welcome aboard. Good to hear you are looking to achieve Centurion level, good luck sir.
  10. Post up a few photos Jamie, the parts you feel may be of concern and even a few of you fully kitted up. This is going to make the world of difference to the type of feedback you get. Ultimately you need to please your GML, but we can certainly get you heading in the right direction for your best chance of an easy re approval.
  11. Congratulations Briannah, welcome to the legion and FISD as an officially approved trooper.
  12. Hi Wade and welcome to FISD. You can get the U material through CFO (Cast from Original) sskunky is his forum name here so please send him a PM he can help you out. If you haven't already, you should join the Redback Garrison forums www.501st.com.au We are your local garrison (look after Queensland) and you may be lucky if one of our members has some of the U trim available locally, but failing that sskunky is you man and does ship to Australia.
  13. Good to know, Should go over my armour now trooping is returning.
  14. So neat and tidy Steve, nice job.
  15. Totally impressed with your work on this project Richard, it is simply awesome.
  16. Congratulations on your first troop Adam, hope it was everything you were expecting and more.
  17. This set image from Kenobi proves they are R1 style TK's
  18. The Lexan scissors I have are small and not hand specific. I bought a curved pair so you just flip them to have the blades in the right direction for your cut.
  19. Awesome, starting to come together.
  20. Welcome aboard Chris.
  21. Hi Andy and welcome. That's a great story with a fantastic outcome for you and yes it is rare indeed that the planets align and everything just works out like that. Make sure you sign up to MEPD, (Mos Eisley Police Department) they are the official Sand Trooper detachment, where we are the shiny white Storm troopers in most cases. http://forum.mepd.net/ You can certainly be a member of both detachments no problem but you will see specific information relating to all things Sand trooper over their, and nothing really about them here. Hopefully you have signed up on the UK Garrison forums as that is the path to follow for you to get 501st approval. https://www.ukgarrison.co.uk/ Congrats on your purchase, and looking forward to hearing of your approval and acceptance into the 501st
  22. No doubt this hobby isn't cheap, some costumes far more so than others. Vader for instance can run up to and well over $4k, Boba Fett no different, some are even dearer than this hitting $6K. Certainly well above Halloween type costuming. Storm troopers are one of the cheaper costumes of hard armour, there are multiple vendors to deal with so your choice is good. A basic Imperial officers uniform is a good lower cost costume to also consider getting into the 501st and out trooping. It's also easy to transport if you move around a lot. Stay away from most armour sold on ebay as you many times just don't get something that is either shown or up to scratch. Stick with vetted suppliers and feedback form the 501st garrison and detachment forums because this can also save you some coin in the long run. Good luck on your journey Terry
  23. MoMo's back yes she's back, yes she back, yes she back! That's very reassuring news on your recovery Monica, I wish you all the best. Thanks for the update, and hope you get some time to continue on your build.
  24. I am indeed here to help Justin. Considering New generation armour is available for this character, a CRL is going to be reasonably easy to create, but without a Model and all the images of the various parts and paint scheme, a CRL would be incomplete and not see the light of day. Only member built costume images are used for a CRL, not screen caps or action figure photos. This is always the case with new to legion costumes, it takes a trail blazer to do their research and start a build thread, then work with myself and the staff as well as the LMO (Legion Membership Officers) to make it all a reality. The detachment is here to support your research, build and the writing of the CRL. Use our expertise to assist you. Luckily we already have a CRL for the Rogue One TK which uses the new gen armour, so you have a huge head start by utalising that platform for the build of the costume. The paint scheme looks to be well laid out on screen and on the Hot toys action figure, so you have references to work with for the accuracy. I believe there is even 3D files available for the back pack, and definitely for the launcher, so your job is far from difficult when compared to many other costumes that require everything designed and built from scratch. To note, I'm pretty sure there are others who may already be working on this costume, but the first to complete will end up becoming the CRL model. I am at your service.
  25. Hi Ben and welcome aboard. If you have just been approved at basic level, you should request 501st clearance so you can see more sections of our forums. Here is where you can do that. As to actual trooping, you can decide to stay in character and act just like an imperial Stormtrooper would, some like to be more entertaining for the kids, or put on an ascent to sound like the TK's in the movies etc. It really depends on the troop itself as some require you remain in charecter, others like Conventions etc, do not. Take cues off your fellow troopers, see how they are acting and follow suit. One thing is for certain, you will never forget your first troop, it is exhilarating, to say the least. Some find themselves overwhelmed and shed a tear because it has been a life long dream to take something from child hood and turn it into a reality. I wish you the greatest of satisfaction on your first official troop, and becoming an active member of the FISD community. Congratulations Trooper.
