  1. Wow, how did I miss this thread. Great work Lando, and also very exciting. Are you hoping to build this and create to a level for potential 501st approval?
  2. Super clean job with the seam filling Adam, in fact your entire build is very clean. Great work Trooper.
  3. Thanks for continuing to smash these out Glen, I'm in the busiest part of the year for work atm so my forum time has been limited.
  4. Shawn, may I ask what it was about the boots the LMO's had issue with? I think you mentioned either the cape or the gloves as well.
  5. This is going to be very very cool. Can't wait to see the finished product, so you must post a video when done
  6. Excellent news Kalin, and you are right, not many do the ESB so it will be great to add another to the FISD ranks. Good luck on your journey and i hope you get to keep this one. Don't forget we have 2 additional higher levels of approval that don't take much work to achieve, so I hope you consider going all the way to centurion. As Glen mentioned, go and check out the ESB build threads, lots of info to garner from them.
  7. Ahh got you. I actually holds one of my drop boxes together with Velcro and yes I do use it to keep a key and some cash in when trooping so your idea is sound. I guess if the size was not really distinguishable as being too large, then no reason why it would be an issue. It just needs to look the same as the armour so the real thing that pops out to me would be having them painted the same white as the ABS if for an OTTK.
  8. You could simply create a card holder to clip onto your canvas belt. Just check your GML is happy for you to use it during certain troops. It would be an easier solution to slide cards out while wearing gloves and a helmet.
  9. This is coming along nicely Dan, good clean build sir.
  10. Wow Fred that is awesome, I hope you can share more of these photos with us.
  11. To answer your first question, because a cover strip goes over the top of the seam, it wont matter so much how close they butt up as long as they are reasonably good. 2nd question, many kits have this as uneven. Align the bottoms of those and not the tops. Cut an angle at that end of the cover strip to account for the difference in height of each half if that makes sense.
  12. Congratulations Paul!
  13. Mine is literally only attached with a small drop of CA glue at the ridges and another on the inside where it touches the cover strip. It's done over 50 troops and is still there for over 7 years now without any problems.
  14. Welcome to FISD Jeremy, you are in good hands here sir. RS is great armour, so once your big brown box arrives it's time for you to start a build thread so the advice can flow. Good luck on your journey.
  15. ***UPDATE*** I have started sending out PM's to those we have chosen images from, so please check your forum messages. If you have received a PM, please follow the instructions within. As an additional piece of information, please attached the requested images as .jpeg or .png files, and not embedded into the email. We are unable to use images that need to copied and pasted into a document from the body of an email for this project. Also please only send the best resolution you have. Examples of usable resolution are files 1meg or higher. Some at around 600+KB are ok, but I have received a few photos that are as low as 109KB- 300KB and there fore are way too small to use unfortunately. If emailing from a device where you took the photo, you should be able to attache the image at various resolution, go for the highest you have. This may mean you might have to send multiple emails and that is perfectly fine as it is the sharp quality we want. If the image was shared with you through messenger the photo is going to be a low res and not usable. In that case if you know who took the original, you may certainly ask them to email it to me for use. Many thanks and for those who have received a PM, please don't hesitate to reach out to me if you have any questions. Once I have all the images, we will move to the next stage of the project and will finally reveal what this is all about.
  16. Weapons Locker General Weapons Discussion BlasTech DLT-19 Page 3 complete - Sly11 Page 2 complete - Sly11 Glen on page 2 you have a thread with some photo bucket marked images. I have left it so you can fix them. Page 1 complete - Sly11 Except for the very first post. It has a stack of images and is a very good thread that needs to have all Photo bucket images corrected
  17. Welcome to FISD! Research is indeed the key to this hobby. You generally buy armour in kits and assemble yourself but there are a few that will do commission builds at a cost. The First order Stormtrooper is a reasonably involved build to be honest, but you will indeed learn skills along the way and ultimately have huge satisfaction in assembling it yourself. None of us knew how to build armour when we started and i promise the learning curve isn't a steep one, specially when you have the advice and support of many other members who have undertaken the same journey you are about to embark on. Good luck with your research and always ask plenty of questions, we are here to help in every way we can.
  18. Wow, that gave me goose bumps!! Bravo indeed.

    Ok I couldn't resist
  20. Hi Lando and welcome! The moment I saw the words New Stormtrooper from the Bad Batch, you got my attention!! I would agree with Glen on the location, but if you are intending to build this to eventually have it approved as a Legion costume, certainly start your thread in that area. As things progress we can relocate your thread if needed. What i would include in your thread is your reference images of this character firstly. We have a thread in which we took shots that were available from various web pages when the episode aired but these are in a 501st only visible area of the forums. If you get your build thread started i am more than happy to paste these into your thread. Secondly, for adding any images to the forums, we always recommend you use a third party hosting service. The main one to use is Imgur (yep it's free) Here is a couple of links on how to use it. Lastly, we are here to support you and your ambition to build and potentially write a CRL and get you approved. I will need to have a few conversations with the LMO team to make sure we have enough substantial references for front, back Lefty and right sides of the character as this is a minimum requirement. You are more than welcome to reach out to me anytime via PM if you wish to discuss this project. I'm excited, and loo forward to seeing your progress.
  21. Great post Luca, this will be very helpful to many.
  22. Excellent review and comparison Chris, thank you for putting this together, it certainly piqued my curiosity as I'm sure it will for our members. I love that you went to the trouble of trying to match the camera angles and set up to keep it so precise, well done.
  23. That was a good bit of fun. Thanks for sharing Paul.
  24. Welcome to FISD Sean! We have loads and loads of resources and plenty of helpful members and staff to get you on your way to becoming a trooper in the first Order. Enjoy your new journey.
