  1. I have found sometimes a little more heat is needed and had to use a heat gun, not something you want to do without first practicing on some scraps. I actually cut mine half straight and half on an angle just so it covered better, if straight there would have been a nice corner to dig in to me . A few from the gallery section
  2. We find sometimes adding a couple of abs V tabs can be helpful keeping the butt plate held in, glue one side to the butt plate and the other end is free behind the back plate. With your thighs the angle of the elastic can make them pull either way, try to have these in line. Looking good.
  3. I have also used water based acrylic paint for weathering, even when dry it comes off easily with some polish.
  4. You only have to look at the replies on Wyatt's merchandise threads from happy customers who have received their orders
  5. I tend to purchase mine off ebay, a lot cheaper I have found than websites. Anything from China usually has free shipping BUT it is slow, 6 to 8 weeks so if you aren't in a hurry for them there isn't a problem. As I have found over time you can never have enough of them, the more the merrier
  6. Tried adjusting brightness, still hard to make out full details

  9. TROOP: 40th Anniversary Party LOCATION: WILLETTON ADDRESS: 13 Herald Avenue DATE: 18 Apr 2018 TIME: Arrival: 16:15 Troop: 16:45 -18:30 LANDSCAPE/WEATHER: outdoors, overcast but not raining. TROOPERS: TK59226 - Jerry - Jezzapm: SL51164 - Stuart - DV64: TK85421 - Glen - gmrhodes13 TD84000 - Plunk - Darth Trooper TK98311 - Peter - Flocky WRANGLERS: Marie Em REPORT: Troopers started arriving from 16.00 and when all were present were taken on a tour of inspection of the grounds and brought up date on the mission goals. Once kitted up 2 troopers went to the rear of the premises to direct guest transporters to their allocated landing pads, meanwhile M'Lord and his attendants went into the garden to greet the Imperial guests upon their arrival. Many a photo was taken and there was much amazement at finding that the Empire had landed and were in attendance. Lord Vader and the garden troopers were at one stage accosted by the local Imperial corgi who was not at all sure about these people in armour that were making funny noises, this apparently wore him out as he was exhausted the next day. The troopers directing transports also had quite a few unauthorised photos taken by possible Rebel spies in passing transports. Once all the guests had arrived the two halves of the troop joined together and we proceeded to the party venue and were thanked for our participation. After being dismissed we kitted down and proceeded to have a small celebration for Mrs Vader's birthday, which included chicken and cake. CHARITY: The McGrath Foundation: $250 INJURIES: Flocky fell down a hole. ARMOUR REPAIRS: Flocky needs to repair his shin armour HAPPY PEOPLE: All the party guests and also some of the passing motorists. UNHAPPY PEOPLE: Nil MISSION STATUS: complete REPORT BY: Jerry TK59226 Troopers at the Ready
  10. I like my SE-14R, a bit smaller than an E-11 and can hold my arms closer to my body, which is good having both back and neck injuries. A DLT-19 was carried by Luke but it's a large weapon and looks a little out of place, they do look better on a HWT or a sandtrooper as the pauldron offsets the size of the blaster. ----------- If you look at the CRL (costume reference library) for ANH Stormtroopers a DLT-19 is listed as an optional weapon
  11. Oh it's doable as I've done it, but I find it's not as comfortable to walk in as the TFA cod is, mainly as it's lower .
  12. Great idea Dan and if you don't mind I'll be adding this to next months newsletter
  13. TK85421, been around for 6 years now, always wanted to be a Stormtrooper since 1977 when my farther had snuck me out of the house without my younger brother knowing, to see ANH at the drive in movies. I researched a costume about 15 years ago and at that time the price was way too much. Went through a marriage breakdown and a friend convinced me to go to a local convention to get me out of my hovel, of course there where Stormtroopers, once I asked a few questions especially about pricing I was hooked, signed up on the forums the next day and ordered armor a few days after that. NOW there's no turning back, you could say I was bitten by the building bug, so 21 approved costumes later, 6 of those centurion, a Lancer and 34 L2 officer variations yer you could say I'm addicted. Now with some medical issues this is what keeps me going, if it wasn't for Star Wars, my dear friend Liz and this community I don't think I would still be around. "Thank the maker" My first Supa Nova Convention, two of my favourite girls
  14. As well as clamps and magnets painters tape can be a great help. At least you have the right idea, it's better to take your time than rush through. No doubt you will get there soon, keep up the great work
  15. Screws or rivets where used on the bracket system, there was also some fraying to some belts
