The Force Unleashed Stormtrooper armor build (Anovos)
gmrhodes13 replied to mikedwelle94's topic in TFU TK Build Threads
Looking forward to the progress. Make sure you contact your GML and give him/her the heads up that you will be undertaking a new to the legion costume, here is some info which you may wish to have a read off: http://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:CRLGuide -
For my old boots I used white acrylic water based paint, covers nicely then use the polish over the top so it matches the rest of the boot. For my new boots and armor I've added some thin dense foam inside the bottom of the shins, helps to stop them wearing.

Even so often I go over my boots with shoe whitener ---------

Mine are the largest sizes which I think described as 78 cm. Depends how you pack too -
Tote for TK. Opinions?
gmrhodes13 replied to TK71169's topic in Boots, Soft Parts, and other Accessories
I have several, soft and hard cases, really depends on what costume I take as too which case I use but TK is in a hard case just like Dan's above, BUT I only use black or very dark grey -
Tube stripes came out great, nice work

Tote for TK. Opinions?
gmrhodes13 replied to TK71169's topic in Boots, Soft Parts, and other Accessories
I used one once then swapped to a suitcase, it's a little more compact and fits in the car easier, I have one of the larger tote's and first troop was up stairs and it was a pain carrying it up, suitcase is much easier. Arms go inside shins, then shins inside thighs, then thighs go into front/back armor clamshell, fits in a suitcase really well. -
ANOVOS (DENUO NOVO) FOTK Armor Delivery Possibility

Great news, looking forward to seeing the build -
Came out a treat, great work

Looking good, cross posting from your other threads: Those will work, just remember you'll have to go all the way to the ends with the backing, especially the bottom ridge as the cover strip stops above the lower ridge front and back. So add the strips behind, then strips in the centre which will match the sides of the pieces, add ABS paste. You'll need some ABS paste you can find a how too here: ANH holster will work but you will need black loops that will go over the belt

The family of Peter Mayhew, with deep love and sadness, regrets to share the news that Peter has passed away. He left us the evening of April 30, 2019 with his family by his side in his North Texas home. Peter was the man behind the mask of Chewbacca in the original Star Wars trilogy, episode 3 of the prequels, and the New Trilogy. He fought his way back from being wheelchair-bound to stand tall and portray Chewbacca once more in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. He also consulted on The Last Jedi in an attempt to teach his successor. He put his heart and soul into the role of Chewbacca and it showed in every frame of the films from his knock kneed running, firing his bowcaster from the hip, his bright blue eyes, down to each subtle movement of his head and mouth. But, to him, the Star Wars family meant so much more to him than a role in a film. The relationships that began then grew into the friends and family that he would love for decades to come. As the films released and became more well-known he had his eyes opened to the possibilities of what he could achieve with his role in the Star Wars universe. For more than 30 years Peter travelled all over the world spending time with his fans and friends. Peter developed lifelong friendships with the other cast members and his fans while on the convention circuit touching the lives of millions. As he realized over the years the impact he could have, he became heavily involved with the 501st legion, Wounded Warriors, Make-a-Wish, and other non-profit organizations. To this end, he established the Peter Mayhew Foundation, supporting everything from individuals and families in crisis situations to food and supplies for children of Venezuela during their recent road to freedom. He not only provided funds but became personally involved with each individual, family and cause he supported. As he grew older he continued to āsoldier onā as he put it and was completely in his element around his fans and supporters. He grew great strength from the energy of his family, friends and the fans he knew and loved. He is survived by his wife Angie and three children. His kindness, generosity and care will live on in the Peter Mayhew Foundation with Angie taking the helm as his voice. There will be a memorial service for friends and family held on June 29th and in early December in Los Angeles there will be a memorial for fans set up with his family in attendance, personal effects, and collection at EmpireConLA. For additional information, information on the memorials or to offer condolences email [email protected] Rather than gifts and flowers the family asks that you consider donating to the foundation so that they can continue his efforts to help the community. You can donate at http://petermayhewfoundation.org/make-a-donation.php BUCKETS OFF

Nice work trooper, a couple of other pics you may need. D ring Sniper plate photos of the sides should be direct side on so the angle behind the sniper plate can be seen. Side of ab/kidney showing all rivets Bottom ear screw You also have a little paint on the gum areas, paint should not leave the teeth A few things you could tweak to really shine: Belt could come up a little higher, usually sits just under the last ab button Mic tip front edges could be painted white Ideally there is a little white seen under the brow trim, the lower brow is more Hero style Good luck with approval

I used straps once and ended up cutting off, weren't the most comfortable of things, I use two blocks of foam in the helmet which sit on both sides of the head which helps keep the helmet from moving, won't even fall off when leaning over, that may be an option for you.

And there I was thinking you just didn't love us anymore, hope the move goes well

Some have shimmed armor before, you would need to join and fill the seam with ABS paste. Couple of threads I've come across (just Google thigh shim whitearmor) which you may be able to adapt for the overlap method. https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/38921-anovos-anh-thigh-shim-help/ https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/31058-my-thigh-fix/

First Order TKs - What's the Difference?
gmrhodes13 replied to sharkbait's topic in Getting Started - Read this First!
Currently the CRL's are pretty much the same TLJ at this stage and can be approved with a TFA cod although higher levels require a TLJ style, can a TLJ cod be worn with a TFA kit?, I'd suggest most GML's wouldn't notice but yes check with your GML. There are a few other differences not in the CRL's, forearms are slightly different, also there is a small grey circle (believed to be a screw) on the forearm rail, also spats are a slightly different shape, also mention of helmet greebles being a little different but I've not seen references of those. TFA and TLJ CRL's will be going through some discussions and updates in the not too distant future so I would suggest either checking back on the forums for those discussions and keep an eye on the CRL's for those updates. -
Very nice, here's mine

Automotive compound polish is a little more abrasive and may help. I found black dye had run out of my FOTK armor pouches I had made and since change to another fabric.

First Order Pauldrons
gmrhodes13 replied to Dave Gray's topic in Boots, Soft Parts, and other Accessories

Pauldrons for ANH stunt?
gmrhodes13 replied to Nada's topic in Boots, Soft Parts, and other Accessories
As Tony said they are not cannon to ANH Stormtroopers but some do wear them at unofficial events, just check with your CO and GML as some garrisons don't allow wearing non cannon items. Trooperbay sells them. -
trimming and assembling Armor for short humans

Quite a few, here's a couple from a quick search: https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/42868-sha-shas-wtf-anh-stunt-build-complete/ https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/38416-crickets-rs-stunt-build-for-the-vertically-challenged/ https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/38842-fragarocks-rs-stunt-build-not-to-scale/ -
Imperial Boots periodically you could fill out the support request to find out when they will next open up ordering https://www.imperialboots.com/support/ The other supplier was TK Boots but they are no longer making them. Also check out the Ongoing and Private sales area occasionally you can find items there. You may also want to have a read through Joseph's supply list which pretty well covers what you may require for your build https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/31404-supply-list-for-your-tk-build/
