  1. Exciting times, nothing better that a BBB, looking forward to seeing the build good luck
  2. I did take off the rounded area of those pieces Some screen used for comparison <img src='https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/uploads/gallery/album_59/gallery_12157_59_43133.jpg' alt='DSC02557.jpg' title='DSC02557.jpg' data-role='theImage'> Also had to hit the shins with some heat, Velcro itself wouldn't keep them closed when they are that open to start with.
  3. Nice clean build, good luck with approval, although I doubt you need it
  4. If you have a look through the build thread area you will see quite a few threads on fitting armor to the heightwardly challenged
  5. Looks like you are on top of things, I rough up the area with sandpaper and glue strips of ABS behind the crack, sometimes using a heat gun to make sure the strip confirms properly. I have seen others use fibreglass and resin but be careful as it can heat up when curing.
  6. More photos added. "hey there's something wrong with this, everything looks smaller"
  7. Have moved your build thread to TLJ. I personally use automotive acrylic paint and glad I do I have heard a lot of horror stories with Rustoleum and Krylon paints. Good luck with the painting.
  8. Event: Gateway to space week II Location: Inside/outside Cockburn Centre Date: 26/04/18 Time: 3 hours Landscape/weather: Inside air con and outside very slight breeze Troopers: TK85421-gmrhodes13-Glen TK59226-jezzapm-Jerry SL51164-DV64-Stuart Wranglers: Marie Em G/A: n/a Report: With LFL approval once again we arrived pre 5.30pm.Marie,Jerry and Q were at the Club, Em waiting in the car and gaming while I arranged entry tags to change area. Kitted up for another trip on the travelator to meet up with RL, Halo and PAC. Pics taken inside and outside, making our through the crowds stopping off at each display area for a photo op. Liz as per last week dropped by after finishing work and enjoyed being a spectator. We ventured further a field than last week to find an unchartered space display. This was unfortunate as Q took a dive and fell like a stack of donuts. He had himself up and about quickly with some assistance from others, Vader has a theory that he was pushed. Just after 8 we called it a night. I paid back Jerry the $20 I owed him, thanks for the loan. Charity: The organiser was raising funds for Breast Cancer Research Injuries: Q may have some to report on. Armour Repairs: Q sustained battle damage and DV64 was having no luck with battery power. Happy people: All,6 peeps this time for a Maccas run Unhappy people: We were all concerned to see a trooper take a fall, never a good feeling. Mission Status: Complete Report by: DV64
  9. Yes the screws are painted, I used a standard white paint. Ear gaps are acceptable, as seen in a lot of screen images.
  10. Probably done roughly 12 in my time, each one is a little different, really depends how much sugar the younglings have. I have been at one that I was almost asleep in my armor to the complete opposite and have every opening between my armor probed by plastic light sabers. Don't always rely on parents to save you either, their just happy their screaming younglings are being entertained . We normally suggest a donation to a charity of their choice or if they don't have one we have our preferred list they can choose from. Always amazes me though, it seems that it is always those that are battling that don't have much that put on the best show for you kids, they also amazingly donate the largest amount. I went to one birthday in an exclusive area where all the parents had high quality costumes, there was a giant R2 cake, star wars cup cakes, an open bar, multiple entertainers, everything a youngling could ever want, YET they gave the smallest amount to charity, we won't be going back if called upon again
  11. With a heat gun you bend strips of ABS plastic into the shape of a V, only glue one side and the other remains free to allow movement when you bend. Just helps stop the butt plate from pushing back from the back plate.
  12. Having a look through other AP build threads can be of help, seems common to them.
  13. Personally for any splits or tears I like to add some pieces of ABS behind and glue with E6000, with the E6000 it does have some give and does allow a little movement unlike a lot of other glues that will just split if you put any strain on them. I would also in a corner add several layers of ABS, this will help to reinforce the fix.
  14. Like any CRL there needs to be evidence/proof of a particular item not just assumption, in the case of the RO baton there are only very dark images so it does make it difficult to give exact information in the CRL, general info on it's appearance for L1 and when/if more references become available they could be added to L2 and L3.
  15. As stated each detachment are specialist in their own costumes as such Spec Opps would have more in-depth information in regards to a TX than we, although much of the assembly is similar.
  16. Really hard to tell, most references are very dark and on some angles the shaft look square, others it looks round. You could presume it would look like Jyn's but of course we have seen a lot of different weapons in the Star Wars universe so who knows, would not be unbelievable for them to be different too.
