  1. And people wonder why we get elitist shamed. It's cause of this. Nothing good comes from these threads. Every person in those photos is a fan of Star Wars. Just like you.

  2. Hello Aria, Welcome to FISD. Please do check this section out first before you commit to buy anything. There is a lot of information here on who is ok to buy from: And also who NOT : I recommend you pour a cup of coffee, take some time and go through the pinned topics on our getting start section first. Yes, there are a lot of reading there but it will help you to make the right decision on who to buy from based on your preferences, who suits you best and price. https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/forum/38-getting-started-read-this-first/

  4. My first suit was an RS commission. But the study I was able to do with it helped me to feel confident to build 3 clones and a scout myself. And now I’m working on an FOTK. A commission isn’t cheating if it helps you to build confidence to try things on your own in the future

  5. The red label scout helmet has a lined fiberglass dome so quite a bit heavier than ABS. It’s up to you ultimately but I know I would rather pay the extra £150 and not have a sore neck. As for kits can’t go wrong with either TM or RS. RS is the most accurate to the films as they cast off an original suit, TM is a cleaned up version but still very accurate (I am amazed at how close Paul got without access to the LFL archives).

  6. The armor in the lower right corner looks like it was taken straight from the Lucasfilm archives and carefully placed there to give us nerds some goosebumps.

  8. Hello Everyone! As I mentioned in another thread, I pulled the trigger a couple months ago on a complete AP ANH Hero build from Mark. I’ve purchased and received everything except the armor, which I am impatiently waiting on! :::Taps boot::: I thought I’d go ahead and start my thread, I’m hoping my beer gut doesn’t require too many alterations to reach Centurion but we’ll see. Below is my list and I will post pictures as I can. I do want to thank everyone who’s contributed to the newbie threads, especially those giving advice on where to go (and not to go). I feel like I did my due diligence as a result. Armor – Authentic Props (Coming Soon) Helmet – Authentic Props (Coming Soon) Belt and Thermal Detonator – Authentic Props (Coming Soon) Holster – Authentic Props (Coming Soon) Gloves – Authentic Props (Coming Soon) E-11 Blaster – Quest Design Canada Boots – Imperial Boots Neck Seal – Trooper Bay Under Suit (2 piece) – Lavento Compression Top and Athlio Compression Bottoms – Amazon Helmet Fans – Henry’s Dual Fan Cooling Kit – Trooper Bay Communication Equipment – iComm Unit and Aker 10 Watt Amplifier – TK Products Empire Cap (for when the lid is off) – Amazon The accessories are exciting and all but receiving the blaster really started bringing home that I was actually going to "be" a Stormtrooper. Definite shout out to Brett for this beauty. I found a reticle on the net and printed it out as a temporary addition, I’ll see down the road if I want to do anything more daring. (Does this count as my first alteration!?!)

  9. It’s one thing to poke fun at those that, with no love for Star Wars, capitalize on the franchise for their own monetary benefit thereby also depriving us of a chance to appear for free and have any proceeds donated to a charity of the organizer’s choosing. Yet, while I often refrain from expressing my truly meaningless opinion on topics that do not concern my own conduct or pursuits, I cannot stand to see ridicule pointed at innocent fans who dress up just for the fun of it. Fun is a subjective construct, and as such, it cannot be stated that our accurate and systematic approach to building stormtroopers is the only valid method by which one can represent and enjoy the franchise. If the individual derided earlier in this thread whilst attending a premiere is a weirdo, then I too am a “weirdo” and glad to be one. As Joseph said, I would hate to rob someone of fulfilling their whitearmor passion simply because they observe some insensitive members, who feel the time and money we all have invested into our costumes somehow equate to superiority, hiss and sneer at one’s first attempt at replicating something we all emulate. After all, no matter how much liberty was taken in these costumes, the emulation is close enough that the public will doubtlessly identify it as a stormtrooper (or a Power Ranger) just as they would us. I concur with the prior comments that this thread and all like it should be closed. Though I said it might be acceptable to criticize those that open themselves up to as much by commercializing others’ intellectual property to reap monetary reward, it is too difficult to differentiate from a mere picture of an enthusiastic fan. As such, there’s no sense in indiscriminately insulting and laughing at all less-than-accurate attempts. Happy Holidays Everyone!

  10. I'll try to remain hopeful but seeing is believing at this point. Going to Galaxy's Edge on sunday so at least I'll get to see my two helmets that may or may not ever ship.

  11. Best solution (if you got it due to other stuff already) is using own server. Much easier to pack the stuff and move it to a different hoster if the hoster fails or gets too expensive. (thats why all my images here are loaded from nplusc.de)

  15. Well, that’s great but did Stanley say that they would ever be using your updated shipping address for anything in the next 5 years? Their “Newsletter” is about as full of crap as their shipping estimates. What a freaking joke.... even their updated Kylo helmet ship date is now 6 months long. Is it really that difficult to estimate your product deliveries when I can walk into Disneyland and buy the exact same helmet tomorrow? WTF Anovos! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  18. Well I just heard from Anovos today after reaching out to their customer support line on Sept 11 to update my shipping address. I heard from "Stanley" and he confirmed my shipping address has been updated for all my outstanding orders. He finished with "Keep an eye out for our next newsletter coming out soon! We will be giving you the details when items will start shipping. Please feel free to reach out to us if you have any further questions or concerns. Thank you! " Basically Same old story...non info update.....

  19. Having an understanding girlfriend is half the battle, lol. Although it's certainly not required, I hope you will consider aiming for the higher levels of screen accuracy (Expert Infantry and Centurion). Doing this during your build is much easier than doing it after, and with a TM kit and very little extra work this is totally achievable. This thread will help. Again, having all of your supplies in place will serve you well. Nothing worse that needing something and then having to go out and buy or order it to stop a build in it's tracks. If I could offer some advice, it would be: 1. Stay organized. 2. Take..... your...... time. Rushing a build leads to mistakes. 3. When in doubt (even a little), post photos/ask questions before cutting or gluing anything. Trust me on this one. We will help you get that official 501st TK I.D. under your name. Once you get approved, you both will have the experience to start on your girlfriend's armor!

  23. These type of threads are always a bad idea. Not sure why it hasn’t been removed as it always leads to the same thing - mocking. Bad taste. Move along.

  24. Yes, we make a certain amount of sport of those with kits like this, but let's face it, not everyone can afford to spend $1000 + dollars on TK armor/accessories but still want to live the dream we all had of being a Stormtrooper. I bought my first kit from ebay to use as a Halloween costume. Did I make mistakes on my build? Good GOD yes! When I got it done I thought I was the coolest cat alive, but being an accuracy nut I did some research, found out about the 501st/FISD and it opened up a whole new world I never knew existed. I have seen many folks with ebay type kits while trooping (especially at SW movie premiers). I always hand them one of my trading cards and tell them a bit about the 501st in case they want more information. Some people are happy-as-clams to wear non "approved" armor and just want to get out, have fun, (I say more power to them) and don't care about being approved, then there are the rest of us, lol. To put it another way, what if a person with wonky looking armor decides to check out the FISD in hopes of joining and sees their photo(s) posted with deriding comments. Ouch. Just something to think about....
