As mentioned above, trim down and curve that return edge at the bottom - that will help a lot when trying to reshape and fit. I don't want to discourage absolute TK perfection - but... the AP knee plate is very difficult (nearly impossible?) to get perfectly centered and nicely lined up on the sides - so don't get discouraged. I found fitting it and hot bathing it a number of times helps. I even glued it on the best I could and then took it off and tried again. Try to glue the front and one side on - let the glue set up for a couple of days, then glue the other side - using many clamps to keep everything where you want it. Let it sit for a few days. I also used little tabs of plastic on the back of the sniper knee to get it to sit at a better angle. Good luck!2 points

Before you glue that Chris, I would suggest trimming down the bottom a bit more as shown below. The reason being is that it will give it a bit more flexibility, allowing it to sit a lot closer to the top of the calf. It will also reduce the gap that is there. Also, when trimming always try not to put sharp angles (as shown by the arrows) on anything, as these become areas where splitting can/will occur. The bottom of the posterior (butt) plate is a common area where this happens. Note below how they are slightly rounded in this trooper's example.2 points

Hi All, I ordered my Anovos TK kit May 4th 2017….15 months later it arrived!!! During that time I have been reading the FISD forums and patiently waiting to start my own TK build. BBB Day was August 20th, my dog Kobie was excited as I was! (see photo below) Since August I have been collecting all the required parts and materials. I officially started my build January 1st. I decided it was time to start a build thread to document progress and ask all my questions towards my goal of approval and joining the 501st and FISD family! Parts List: Armor: Anovos (delivered) Helmet: Anovos (delivered) Boots: Imperial Boots (delivered) Neck seal: Anovos (delivered) Canvas Belt: (will measure for fit after trimming) Holster: Anovos (delivered) Flexible Hand Guards: @justjoseph63 (delivered) Bracket System: Mr No Stripes (delivered) E-11 Blaster Resin Kit: Doopy Doos (delivered) Completion Kit: @T-Jay (delivered) Electronics: iPhone 6: (have) Trooper Talk: App Store (purchased – installed) Aker 1506 10w Amp: Amazon (delivered) Fans: (still reading and researching) I started my build with the TD assembly. I will post more photos of my progress in the next few days! Thanks for taking the time to read my post! Cheers! Aug 20, 2018 - Kobie is stoked!!! Aug 20, 2018 - It's like Christmas!! Aug 20, 2018 - First glance at that white armor! Jan 1, 2019 - Official Start photo I decided to start with the TD: Measured the Anovos included pipe and cut at 7.25" (ruler dim way off in photo) - Ukswrath's Anovos build printed out in the background! Beveled the edge with dremmel Sanded end caps and control panel edges. Painted slotted pan head screws with semi-gloss black. Glued end caps (didn't have to give them a hot water bath) Glued control panel. TD To Do: - Drill holes and tap threads for screws - Re-bend Anovos provided TD aluminum clips - Attach aluminum clips1 point

Getting back to you on the L2 & L3. Those two options are currently not available, yet. The CRL requirements are listed in basic only.1 point

Nice work, you may need to supply a close up of your TD screws, bit hard to make them out. Also close up of your thigh ammo strip rivets. Best to supply a photo of your ab/kidney rivets too, a little hard to make out in the side profile, they aren't aligned but that could be because your arm is up. You may need to add a drop of glue behind your drop box straps, they don't appear to be aligned at the end of your belts in a lot of your images. Thighs are sitting at different heights, can see it more on your back photos. I'd also advise bringing your forearms a little closer to your wrists, there is a lot of glove showing there. Good luck with approval.1 point

The basic kit also comes with the gaskets (just no neck seal, hence having to order it separate), so you'll have full sets from both. *heh* I'd suggest maybe putting them up for sale on here, if you don't want to keep them as back-ups.1 point

Just chiming in that this is no longer the case in current CRL I totally agree on that the boots look much better with "wear and tear" though1 point

I wonder how that works if I ordered the basic kit and both of the basic helmets? Are they going to still ship the basic TFA helmets that were ordered 2 years ago? Also, has anyone ever returned anything? I bought the premium neck seal 2 years ago (still hasn't shipped), but I bought Pinky's whole gasket setup last year - so I won't have any use for just the premium neck seal by itself anymore.1 point

Also, the front stock is one molded piece that is not configurable. I have one from the last batch. Whole thing is orange and will be fine when I assemble it, but is not able to be upgraded for higher approval. I’ll need to get a different kit in order to have it get Centurian.1 point

Sounds promising, hopefully this will work as you expect! Marko Gesendet von iPhone mit Tapatalk1 point

If you look at the center bottom you can just notice it's not quite aligned, if you look at he two bump risers compared to the cover strip, you could go as is but if you glued the sides, fully then them dry, then you could still be able to twist the front to straighten, apply glue behind and clamp tight, tape can help keep too.1 point

How does this sniper knee look now? Man this is tiring! I need to go to bed.1 point

The boots took me a little longer than anticipated... but I'm still waiting on armor, so that's OK. I received my neck seal and am ALMOST finished with boots (unhappy with some messiness around the soles, but getting close). Some pictures throughout the boot journey... Post-acetone rub: Taped up and ready to go: Layer 1 of approximately 1 billion: A few more layers in: All painted, acrylic layer, and fabric paint on the elastic! So now to fix the couple of smudges, make some magnet satchels, and continue researching...1 point

Congratulations to Jason / TK-16142 / “DeathTrap”, the winner of this contest! You had the command staff’s favorite design. In addition to mucho kudos, you will also be getting two free patches, a Kylo Ren bobblehead and a TLJ baseball cap. We’ll be reaching out for somewhere to ship these to. Thank you to everyone for entering and donating your time and talents! We hope to have this patch run for you soon.1 point

I put in an order for a Hyperfirm before they started shutting down. I was referred to another company, the one Kalani metioned, and placed an order with them. The whole purchase was excellent. Communication was great, and they delivered a beautiful product. I'd definitely recommend them.1 point

Take a step back and look at the shape of your shoulder bells. They seem to be trimmed flat so they will not be able to sit closer to your chest and back plates. They need to be curved to allow them to follow the contours of your armour. The original ANH shoulder bells were trimmed curved - not flat, which is why they always sit closer to the armour.1 point
-
I'd go with what you have, I know the DO's like the shoulder bell gap to be pretty close for higher levels1 point
-
Personally I would extend the shoulder elastic which would allow the chest to drop down a little. Can't quite see but I would imagine the top of the chest is quite close to your throat. But hey, what do I know [emoji23] Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk1 point
