  1. Congrats on your approval!
  2. Thighs look alright from the one photo, but hard to tell. Just be sure that they are comfortable. As Greg mentioned, try to keep them as high as you can get them. Regarding the clips, I used a heat gun. Have you asked anyone in the FI if they might have one you can borrow? They might be able to give you a hand and even maybe some help in person!
  3. Huh...what about the left side? I mentioned it just as a fitting thing, but not a deal breaker. What about for EIB/Centurion? Would you ideally like the two to butt up vice overlap? (p.s. man, look at the top of that kidney...talk about wonky!)
  4. If only this was a problem for the rest of us!
  5. I think that altering your shoulder straps may be a better idea than removing ABS at the neck and modifying the shape of the chest plate. Though this could lower your chest plate too much over the ab plate. But yes, mobility is not the greatest in these plastic spaceman costumes!
  6. This should help: And for the curve on the thigh ammo belt, look for something around the house with the right curve to it instead of eye-balling. A can of spray paint, a cup, anything!
  7. All good tips for new recruits! Congrats and welcome!
  8. If you decide on AP, I would suggest going with untrimmed. Trimming the armour gets you used to working with it and allows you to size it if you need to. The scraps are also useful for making ABS paste if you ever need it to repair armour! Plus you would save some money!
  9. Bicep to forearm should strap lined up with your cover strips at the front.
  10. Should be good for basic easily! Your biceps look kind of big. Some minor fitting things: Your right thigh ammo pack is sliding down. You can glue it up or secure it or just double-check it when you suit up. The ab and kidney plates on the right side look like they may be overlapping. Maybe don't need to close your canvas belt as tight. You could wear the canvas belt slightly lower on the back. Kudos on how close those shoulder bells are to the shoulder straps!
  11. I would suggest checking out the UKG in the meantime! Handlers are almost always helpful at troops and you'll start to make some contacts who could help you out when you finally get to building!
  12. My question is what the USB slot is for in the Rogue One TKs!
  13. My forearms are a little big on me...can't recall how Anovos arms tend to sit. You should be fine, assuming that you are going to be strapping the forearm to the bicep. If you find that they are really too loose, you can just add some foam in there. You need enough room to get your hand through and you can only size down to a certain point before you'd start removing the ridge, which you want to keep.
  14. Just wanted to mention this thread that was very useful to me when I built my ATA kit! http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/33175-an-ata-for-tampa-bay/
  15. One other thing to mention about keeping some room in the thighs other than air flow (which is almost always a good thing) is that I used some foam in the thighs and shin to push my left shin forward and my left thigh back to prevent my sniper knee from locking into my thigh. If you're tall enough, that won't be an issue. same sort of thing with the right thigh ammo pack and the right shin...you will want to avoid stuff rubbing together.
  16. A good place to keep making progress is the biceps...that's where I started! Just be sure to double-check the sizing before you trim at the joint.
  17. Okay, here are some photos. First question relates to holes drilled into ear bumps. The holes are not visible for the most part, but held at a certain angle, you can see them. I'm also now wondering about the brow that I cut at an angle. I realize now that it should be straight and not cut to match the trap above: Second question related to cracks. The cracks are visible up close and I've backed these with ABS to reinforce the areas: Lastly, I was wondering about these notches I cut out when I built my armour back in 2016. They are 22 x 22 but as you can see, the vertical cut in the notch does not line up with the butt plate. (Sorry, but as I was cleaning things up, more questions came up!):
  18. Did a search and did not find an answer. I drilled out some holes in the black ear bump to use the hearing assist system...will this be an issue for EIB (and further, for Centurion)? Thanks in advance. Edit: Additional question - cracks...will they need to be filled? I have a few after two years of trooping!
  19. Daaaaaaang! Prettyyyyyy!
  20. Oh, just noticed you posted this here too, hahah. Anyway, what I wrote in the other thread: Hi Jenny, will follow your thread here as well as on CCG forums! To keep cut lines straight, I used a long metal ruler and clamps! Andy likely shared quite a bit of info with you, but please don't be afraid to post about any questions you might have!
