Looks good! My compulsion for symmetry says that you could have the vocoder paint more symmetrical, but it's certainly not required!

Requirements to make a for sale post?
lucnak replied to Pomsey's topic in Getting Started - Read this First!
Hi Laura, some subforums require a minimum of five posts before you can create threads or reply. Sorry to hear that your option didn't work out! You did not list your geoographic location, but maybe getting in touch with your local garrison, someone could give you some assistance in building while we can help guide you in a new purchase. We can obviously help you with your build here, of course! Good luck. -
Looking good!

Looks like your ABS belt is not connected to the snaps on your ab plate. That will change its positioning significantly. The holster should not be attached other than by the loops. It is possible that the GML may be thinking of another CRL (namely the ANH Stunt, as it is the most common TK). From the ESB TK CRL: Holster For 501st approval: Holster is worn on right side of belt. Holster will be made of completely black leather or leather-like material and be worn on the right and affixed via two black loops over the belt (no fasteners).

I am generally not a fan of the whole "they should have kept this scene!" take, but I can't help but feel that way about this scene. It shows Phasma's true colours and is not overly long as a scene. I like that Gwendoline Christie's eye becomes such a focal point and though that's all you can see, when her eye looks to the side as the troopers are starting to have their doubts, I think it communicates the character's thoughts well!

To clarify, you trimmed too much off the thigh at the ridge in the first photo so you need to put that back? If this is the case, your cover strip will cover most of that. You would just need to fill the bottom cut and the potential gap you may have between the halves. Won't need a lot of paste.
-
Can you post a photo so that we can advise you better? Generally you don't want the paste too runny as it can then get on other parts of the armour and you don't want it to melt anything.

I used plastidip in my bucket. The ab and kidney should have the return removed where they butt up. Should be easier to line up after that.

TK-57996 requesting EI Status ESB (AP) [808]
lucnak replied to Calimero's topic in Request Expert Infantry Status
Felicitations, Dominic! -
Hi Paul, my only concern is that when the elections happened, instructions were to wait for a bulk update and it again did not verify my detachment affiliation. I just want to be sure to be able to vote for DL as I have not been able to do so for the last two years. Next year, should I post and ask for a manual update? Thanks.

TK-42145 Requesting (ANH Stunt) Centurion Status (RS) [380]
lucnak replied to Mr V's topic in Request Centurion Status
Congrats on Centurion! -
Christine made a great diagram for where she had to trim her armour. Not sure that you will need to trim every one of these, but if you do, keep in mind where you need to keep the return edge. Rebuilding a return edge is not for the faint of heart, but some work with a heat iron and some ABS paste can make it look like it was made that way! My computer is not playing well with a photo that is another diagram from Christine (though this may be the same one as the one above, I can't tell). Check here though: I think these may be your best resources! If you post up photos, perhaps @Cricket can chime in herself!

Let's finish this thing!

Jameson, you'll need to use the BB code to embed your photos in your threads. You'll likely get more feedback as it will make it easier for the rest of us to see your photos. Use the direct link option when sharing from imgur, or you can do what I do and just type out [ img ] (just remove the spaces), paste the link and add ".jpg" at the end and then type [ \ img ] (again, no spaces) to close the tag. Seems complicated but you'll get used to it!

I felt so stupid walking around in these ridiculous white boots trying to break them in. I got some pants for a future Snowie build yesterday and put them on and just laughed so hard! Removing the return at the bottom of the shin is a good idea for comfort and wear, as you mentioned. I didn't put any felt or anything like that in mine, but you may think it would be helpful. Some also put velcro in the shin and on the boot to stop it from rotating unintentionally.

hollowbodies' first build : ANH Stunt TK (AP)
lucnak replied to hollowbodies's topic in ANH Build Threads
Du bon progres! Yes, your ammo pack will cover that gap on the right thigh. For the left at the back, if you need to make mobility cuts, you might not even need to close that little gap! If you do need to close it, a piece of scrap and some ABS paste will make it disappear! Good to hear you got your snap setting situation sorted. -
Jenny, good to hear about your progress! Mobility-wise, I suppose putting on the legs I could have shown you the other day. You should be able to bend your knes fine, but bringing the leg up like going up stairs is usually possible but a bit of a challenge for many. Most can't sit and then thighs should not be poking your butt. Sounds like you can still cut down the length. How much have you cut off so far? Tall people have lots of room at the knee, short people less so. You can also do some cutting at the back of the knee area for mobility to maek things more comfortable. I will look around for some sizing references you can follow. Will post again shortly with that!

Jordan, Jenny started another thread in the appropriate section here: See her progress there!

Ah, it's under "General Stormtrooper Reference", not Costume Parts Reference.
-
Sorry about that...not sure why the other reference that I looked at made me think it was the wrong ear. May have been the angle of your photo. My apologies! I was in the process of looking up another reference and my computer froze. Tony, is that from the gallery? I looked for something like that and did not find it but perhaps I looked in the wrong place?
-
That's actually the right ear over the left side, so you'll need to switch those up. Hopefully that resolves the overlap issue and doesn't cause too much trouble with large gaps.
-
You can trim off quite a bit from the bottom. Lots to remove from the face plate. Just stop where the vocoder details and tube bubbles start. For the back/cap, you can remove some at the bottom in your photos. My back/cap and face didn't align perfectly and I ende dup using an extra screw to bring them closer together to get the ear to fit better. It only matters if you can't get the ear on there properly.
