  1. Hi there! Gonna be a quick build then! Have you removed the return edge from the wrists? Hard to see in your photos. Really helps with putting on those forearms.
  2. Your thighs are at different heights. Back plate is crooked and yes, bring it down as was suggested. Remove the velcro from the back of your shoulder straps. Give them some more bend so they stay down. Your belt should sit a bit lower in the front (ABS part should just be touching the bottom of the ab plate) and significantly lower in the back. TD clips should ideally sit touching the end caps of your TD. Your butt plate, your chest plate, and your kidney have some flashing around the side. Not sure if there is no mold mark on the ab, but it's weird that the curve is going back upwards where it meets the kidney plate...normally it should cruve downwards and meet the kidney plate if you haven't shimmed. You could bring your dropboxes up a bit and align them with the ends of the belt. I'm not sure how much of this would actually prevent you from being approved. I would actually contact your Garrison GML and get their feedback. Some of this stuff is not a dealbreaker.
  3. Yeah seriously! Congrats!
  4. I think you might have more luck finding help on your local garrison's site/forums! Good luck!
  5. Ah, well I haven't had the chance to watch the video yet. Seems like if that's what I'm thinking they went in the right direction.
  6. I like to think of this as what they would have done for the OT if they had the production capability. Like this is the "high res" version of the ANH bucket. Not sure if that metaphor makes sense to everyone.
  7. Congrats on your EIB! I should probably get my butt on that...
  8. Making good progress! So did you actually manage to attach the knee ammo belt? Oh and what made you decide to use the heat gun over hot water for your sniper knee? Didn't really specify the issue you were having...either way, I hope it worked out for you!
  9. To clarify, this is done intentionally based on the original armour. You can see "idealized" helmets with a quick Google search. There's asymmetry all over!
  10. The chest and back symmetry isn't too bad usually, but you will notice the difference between left and right overall shape for the biceps and the shins, especially.
  11. They should be white on the inside, but I'm not sure how strict your GML will be with that. The edge can be black or white - what I did based on recommendations was painting the edge black and then using sandpaper to make the edges white, as this was often what happened with the mic tips through production. Some kits come with the mesh pre-trimmed, some don't.
  12. The heat gun tends to just make everything melt uncontrollably and getting something that warps back into shape is next to impossible. I think the ears here look a little high...lowering them should help a little. Hard to say without seeing photos from all angles. I only used the heat gun to make my bicep clips. Some folks use it to reshape shins or the left bicep since those seem to be more oval than round.
  13. Congrats on receiving your BBB! I would recommend you host your images on Photobucket. The space for photos here is a bit restrictive.
  14. Not the heat gun! If there's a big gap between the face and the back before putting the ear on, a screw could pull them closer together and close some of the gap, but if that won't work, I would recommend you get a new set of ears! Much cheaper solution than something that could seriously damage your helmet!
  15. One solid motion is best to keep things nice and even. Hopefully it turns out a bit better on your second pass! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. I would recommend redoing the edges of your areas and not dabbing. Use a single smooth motion to paint those edges - should look better that way. Right now your edges are quite uneven. I was catching up on your thread and wasn't sure why your frown looked like that, but the technique explains it!
  17. I think you might need to mix your black paint more. I only did one coat on my vocoder and that was sufficient. Your paint looks like it's still a little translucent. Give the paint a good mixing using a toothpick, let it sit for a day and then paint again. I had that issue with the grey when I was painting the frown.
  18. Congrats and welcome!
  19. Congrats and welcome!
  20. Congrats! Be careful...a lot of your money is going to disappear into costumes!
  21. Congrats on your approval! Have fun trooping!
  22. Yes my CO mentioned that he used that battery. Might give that a try. I have the option to use he battery pack with AAs or use USB Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. I think keeping overestimating the time you will need is the way to go. I started in February expecting to finish my build by the end of the summer and bam, two months later I was actually done! Hopefully you have the same experience. You should handle at a few troops with your garrison to get a feel for trooping and ask questions and get to know folks!
  24. Thanks for documenting that! I'm not sure what I'm going to do in mine since I have so little room and my battery pack just barely lets my head pass through. Not sure if I'll be able to add the bracket as well and keep the switch accessible. Guess I'll just have to play around with it and find out!
  25. Got mine today in Ottawa, Canada! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
