Dead Post Links & Broken Photos, How You Can Help
gmrhodes13 replied to Sly11's topic in Forum Help & Support
Unfortunately people move on and threads become broken and of little use. Even now using Imgur there is no guarantee that they may go the way of Photobucket. When I started we had a section on tutorials which was a great use, it contained detailed step by step guides for all of the armor pieces, unfortunately this was also lost due to Photobucket and broken links. I've mentioned a few times we need to make another area like this again as it's a great resource for the new builder. -
Veclro under TK shoulder won't hold
gmrhodes13 replied to revel911's topic in Assembly, Mods, and Painting
Apart from adding a piece of plastic and gluing it place under your shoulder strap for strength you really shouldn't need any velcro to keep the straps down, there should be a small elastic strap over the back of the straps. You may also find a little heat is needed so the straps conform to the back plate once worn. -
You may need a hot water bath to help close your shins at the rear as you have a large opening presently. Having overlap by themselves definitely helps to keep them in place. I use a heat gun but you need quite a bit of practice before attempting using a heat gun

TK Helmet .... Rubber gasket moves
gmrhodes13 replied to revel911's topic in Assembly, Mods, and Painting
Normally having a small gap between the front and back cap pieces hold the rubber in place. I have found E600 hasn't worked for me in the past a dap of superglue did the trick. But another not so permanent trick I have used since then is adding some material between the faceplate and rubber, scrap ABS plastic is normally enough, adding this small amount of plastic reduces the gaps, I had to add 3 pieces in a recruits helmet once before. -

This was an old run. Albin posts new runs of patches on his Facebook accounts https://www.facebook.com/albin.johnson Currently there is a 25th anniversary patch and coin up for sale 25 years since the original website launched a Legion. Detention Block 2551 was where hapless stormtrooper TK-210 recounted his misadventures all while trying (and failing) to stay at his post. It was such a hit that fans from around the world sent in their Stormtrooper photos and it sparked the little club 501st Squad which exploded into the Legion.

You will need to have some material left under the chest as when you move (in weird positions) the chest can ride up over the abdomen, this happens the same way with OTTKs. Jeff mentions about taking 1" off the top of the ab

Some very nice straight trim lines there, great work

I would advise any areas where there is a seam to use a permanent glue rather than E6000, it can flex and crack the paint, I use JB Weld, holds strong and is sandable

Which hi res pic?

Knockerbots AM 5.0 ANH Stunt Build thread
gmrhodes13 replied to Knockerbot's topic in ANH (Stunt and Hero)
I've seen a lot of pre built kits that still need some work and adjustments to be made. I found I felt a great personal achievement in building my kit, added to the whole experience of becoming a legion member. That being said if anyone has the extra cash and wan't to purchase prebuilt that's entirely up to them. I don't know what electronics he supplies but there are a lot available so make sure it ties in with what you want as electronics. -
