1. Couldn't find the PayPal tag for imperial credits, so I sent a few dollars instead . Glad to help.
2. If you order from RS you have a six week turnaround , and can request a smooth helmet from them as they have a mould for people who don't like the movie accurate look . Unfortunately I don't know TMs timescale . Hope this helps.
3. Delivery will be around six to seven weeks after you place an order . The secret is to take very accurate measurements to allow them to build the suit for you . Delivery to Belgium usually takes about two days from leaving RS . These days they are fast at replying to emails...and of course are always available on the telephone during working hours . hope this info helps.
4. The two are quite a noticeable difference in colour . Id reccomend you call them direct and get a pvc replacement part for your lid . The two plastics don't mix and match .
5. No, simply NO . sterr clear and buy from a reputable seller of armour that IS clearable.
6. You made the right choice. studying other people's builds on this board is the best way forward , and RS are ever helpful on the phone if you need them , also they have a Facebook page especially for builders , with the RS crew regularly advising .
7. Don't fit the black wire , it's not necessary and didn't appear on the movie guns. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
8. My guess is that you took measurements wrong when you sent the order sheet in . The armour is too small for you , and the thighs too thin . Or Have you put weight on recently ? They can only build to the measurements you send . Sorry if I sound blunt , it's not my intention , but reading something typed can give that impression .
9. Nip over and try some on would be my advice . I take a 42 usually, and 43 imperials fit perfectly . the leather is soft , and the smaller sizes have softer soles , after a few hours wearing they look just like the boots in the movies, most modern painted Chelsea boots just look wrong, too stiff and badly shaped .
10. RS Propmasters now keep imperial boots in stock . The white leather they are made from is lovely and soft , they really do look like the real movie boots , I love mine .
11. RS can ship it to you in weeks, ready to go , and super screen accurate . Shepperton can't do that , and most troopers shy away from them for good reasons. Go RS every time !
12. I think your top edge needs a tiny bit more trimming . You should be studying screen capture photos from a movie called " Star Wars " . ;0)
13. Those eargaps are perfectly fine , in fact, better than most of the screen used movie helmets . If you get the gaps tooo close and perfect, it looks more wrong . You done good.
14. I'm not sure Gino-Bashing is the way to go here . Gino has been to the lucasfilm archive and seen the real props...so why wouldn't he build exact replicas ? Get a grip guys, his are the most accurate . You pays your money, you takes your choice . Simple .
15. The elastic will peel of fairly easily , just take your time so that you don't over stretch it . When you have decided upon the new position to glue it back on to , use ca ( superglue) adhesive to glue it back in place . Wet the elastic with glue and immediately force it into position and hold it there for a minute or so . Dont let any time go bye between applying the glue and holding it in position . The elastic soaks up the ca glue and it sets very fast on the elastic itself .
16. No, it won't affect your build. The UKG doesn't like lights or sounds, but that just means you don't use them when out with the UKG . For your own entertainment , and for use with other costuming groups, you can do whatever you like with your blaster . Go for it I say !
17. To me the main problem looks like the strap to join the shoulder bell to your shoulder bridges is far too long . The bell should practically touch the shoulder bridge , this would help your problem no end. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
18. You are over thinking the issue. Any gap you have is fine ..it's the BELT that closes it . Pullthe belt tight , gap disappears .
19. The movie belts frayed , so should yours . It's all about screen accuracy .
20. You have to remember that when buying RS you are buying screen accuracy . The RS helmet comes with exact screen accurate foam Star inside , ad with exact screen accurate acetate lense matterial . That's what they used in the movie, so that's what RS supply . As to mesh behind the frown , the movie helmets didn't have it , so RS don't fit it. It's simply not screen accurate . personally I'd rather have screen accuracy , that's what it's all about for me , and as to trooping with a screen accurate helmet , no,problems, I've been doing it for years . As to the anavos helmet , well it's up to you but it is far from accurate , the only thing it has going for it is that it's the same size as an RS .
21. The originals were 12 inches from the lower edge up to the top cut , and five inches from the centre rib to each radial edge .
22. I believe RS have an abs offer on for the 40 anniversary at this very moment . Check their Facebook .
May 2017 .
23. Original prop maker of all the actual props eh ?
Well, he did vac form some armour parts I suppose . But he had nothing whatsoever to do with any of the blasters used in the film,
However, if you are pleased with it , then great .
24. It's not screen accurate, and just isn't right in my opinion. If you wear a balaclava nothing shows anyway .
25. Just superglue a piece of scrap, armour material behind the crack . No problems at all .
