1. You are over thinking the issue. Any gap you have is fine ..it's the BELT that closes it . Pullthe belt tight , gap disappears .
2. The movie belts frayed , so should yours . It's all about screen accuracy .
3. You have to remember that when buying RS you are buying screen accuracy . The RS helmet comes with exact screen accurate foam Star inside , ad with exact screen accurate acetate lense matterial . That's what they used in the movie, so that's what RS supply . As to mesh behind the frown , the movie helmets didn't have it , so RS don't fit it. It's simply not screen accurate . personally I'd rather have screen accuracy , that's what it's all about for me , and as to trooping with a screen accurate helmet , no,problems, I've been doing it for years . As to the anavos helmet , well it's up to you but it is far from accurate , the only thing it has going for it is that it's the same size as an RS .
4. The originals were 12 inches from the lower edge up to the top cut , and five inches from the centre rib to each radial edge .
5. I believe RS have an abs offer on for the 40 anniversary at this very moment . Check their Facebook .
May 2017 .
6. Original prop maker of all the actual props eh ?
Well, he did vac form some armour parts I suppose . But he had nothing whatsoever to do with any of the blasters used in the film,
However, if you are pleased with it , then great .
7. It's not screen accurate, and just isn't right in my opinion. If you wear a balaclava nothing shows anyway .
8. Just superglue a piece of scrap, armour material behind the crack . No problems at all .
9. Sorry, mis post by me, now deleted . ;0)
10. I'd check the vendors list first if I were you . Getting this armor cleared would be quite a task .
11. Tony , don't you mean that the helmet IS asymmetrical ? I.e. Side don't match ?
12. Once again RS come thru with customer service !!! And super quick delivery . You are. Very lucky to have bought from such stand up guys .
Good luck with the rest of the build , hope you enjoy the experience .
13. Excellent choice of armour , in fact the best ! Well done .
14. The op seems happy enough Paul . That's what counts here .
15. Can't beat RS for customer service ! Anyone else would tell you to wait six months until they do a new run .
16. If I were you , I'd lose the foam at the back of the helmet . You will need the helmet to be as far away from your face as possible, to allow air circulation . Foam at the forehead pushes the helmet forwards , which is what you want .
17. The inner forearms should be noticeably different , send a photo of what you have to RS , and ask for confirmation .
18. I can't answer your question exactly as I don't have a TM helmet ( ;0( )
But I have experience .. Amfewvyears ago I had a painted helmet and abs armour . The white paint I used wasn't the same as the White of my plastic armour .
I trooped for several years with this set up and no one ever noticed . It really doesn't matter .
And , remember ....the background helmets in the movie were painted !!!
I would say , buy an RS helmet , you will love it .
And as a bonus, you will have it in just a couple of weeks .
19. Now you have a TK number , you need to request open access to this forum . There is a link you need to,follow.
20. I don't remember a light sabre being handled by a hero TK in the ot ?? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
21. The fx lid is hideous , but so is the rest of the armour . Just save up and get something that looks half decent .
22. Yes, of course they are ! Ring first of course, but visitors are always welcome in my experience . I often call in when passing .
Having a proper fitting can prevent any problems in the build .
23. Whatever it is , it was never in any Star Wars movie, that's for sure ! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
24. Leave it exactly as it is , it's a very nice Jedi suit . And screen accurate ...no shock troopers in the movies .
25. It's screen accurate strapping , you get in it from the right side , poking your left arm in first, then your head ..its identical to normal except that the shoulder bells are there already .
With un armoured arms , you can reach up to put the helmet on / off more easily ( for me anyway)
I've never needed the biceps and firearms to be joined , they sit fine .
My armour is RS .
