  1. Appart from the helmet , the stormtrooper-shop armour is just fine . Carefull assembly takes abut one afternoon because it all comes cut , and its lovely and shiney. for trooping its great . For a static "screen accurate " display its all wrong. As to it being recast , well it comes in an identical style/colour/manufacturer cardboard box as several "real" fx kits Ive seen. ---------- my stormtroopershop fx armour , lemonhearts helmet, hasbro modded and caboots. Im 5 ft 10 and 80kg.
  2. My lemontarts helmet . Its not fiberglass , no idea what it actually is ..what the ebay ad says I supose. Its more than light enough for trooping . I have no idea what its a (re)cast of ~(nor do I care ), but for the price I think its pretty good. I added more foam to the inside than supplied to make it fit nice on my head . Ive trooped long enough with this and never had negative comments.
  3. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Star-wars-1-1-bone-stormtrooper-helmet-prop-armour-/190395245929?cmd=ViewItem&pt=UK_Collectables_SciFi_fantasyCollectables_EH&hash=item2c5470e569 contact this seller, he does nice helmets for around 85 quid. Hes in Cheshire.
  4. Even though I dont speak Spanish , the pictures talk for themselfs. Well done , and thanks for sharing the build.
  5. Looking good so far , I have experience of slot cutting in tube from another project , so hats off to you for all those slots!!! How about a picture of the real mg-15 to show what you are aiming at ? I guess Im not the only one who isnt too sure what one looks like.
  6. what do you Americans use to hold the t.v. aerial up on yor houses with ? Over here our local d.i.y. stores sell alluminium extension posts for holding aeriels up with ..thin wall , annodised and cheap. Usually available in two thicknesses and about a yard long . Its what the U.K. Dalek builders use for their Dalek arm sections.
  7. Rivetts were harder to get than I thought ..but Ive now finished the holsters. Ive attatched one to the belt with pop rivetted on poppers , so it clips off easily, but looks rivetted, and the other is looped. Pity about them being vinyl, as the leather straps look so good . ------- Yes Yes I know its a plastic belt , but it is o.k. for now, you know what , I think plastic belts look good visually , all shiny and sci-fi ish . But im working on a canvas one for the future to shut the nit pickers up I made two holsters because I had enough matterial, and to see how they looked, Ill probably stick with the poppered anh stunt stylee one though.
  8. I wondered the same thing , I was hunting for it last evening to asses positioning of the new hope holsters ... just guessed in the end No doubt everything will fall into place with the Forum Upgrade eventually , we just have to be patient.
  9. Good old superglue for mine, I did however buy brand name superglue, not cheapshop stuff. Of course sand teh surfaces to be glued to remove release agent and any paint on teh hasbro ..use fine sandpaper if you are supergluing.
  10. I thoroughly enjoyed the trial vid, very well made . Whilst on the page viewing it , I also watched the black and white "outtake" sort of vid from the cantina, showing Hans girl friend and diferant angle views etc. No doubt that vid isnt news to anyone here, but a quick question from me... in the vid Greedo talks english , no subtitles. This hit a note in my subconscious... did greedo talk in the first cinema release in the seventies ? Ive never seen that vid before , but Im sure Ive heard Greedos voice before ..am I halucinating ? Just for the record, yes I am old enough to have watched star wars first time around and I did Star Wars A New Hope Cantina Scene add ons http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-4...164841154986240
  11. Several times you see the bicep piece actually going over the shoulder bell..they really were that tight, something unheard of in modern replica armour. The Hero bodysuits were fitted far better to the two main actors, hence Lukes short breastplate etc... I dont think any armour producer has really ever nailed the hero shoulder/bicep dimensions/relationship.
  12. Using Troopermasters drawings as inspiration , ever so slightly modded to suit my Hasbro/doopydoos blaster I managed a fairly respectable holster in an hour or so. First I cut out troopermasters template onto my vinyl, and adjusted the magazine area cutout. I also left the length 1/2 longer to cover the tip of the barrel. ------
  13. Thanks guys, I did try the search function before I posted but obviously did something wrong as I didnt find the results... Plus yes , I did make that Forum error of posting without an intro ..sorry.. Ive already purchased vinyl , leather and snaps so Ill continue this thread as a build diary when I get the sowing machine out...
  14. Im going to make my own holster , but before I do , does anyone have approximate dimensions ? Of course I can use screen caps and a blaster itself to get the general layout/dimensions. However , if anyone has done all this before (and Im sure they have ) maybe they could save my brain a workout pass their findings on ?? Cheers Guys Rob
