Tim’s first time build (RS Prop Masters ESB TK)
Rob .T . replied to TrickyT81's topic in ESB Build Threads
So why not go for centurion with your ANH RS armour as well ? Then you can have two costumes at EI and Centurian ! That would be cool . -
First Time Build (ESB TK)
Rob .T . replied to TheEmpireStateStrikesBack's topic in ESB Build Threads
Probably the most accurate esb armour available to be honest . -
That’s a great photo, which I’ve never seen before . Do you have any information about it ? Where/when was it taken ? Etc …. Cheers.
-
Thanks Andrew . I guessed as much.

Even though the esb mk 2 suits were mainly used for promotional work, one does appear in the carbon freezing scene ( pick up shots filmed in America after principle filming was over ) . so it is classed as screen used . so if I were to build an esb mk 2 suit , as there is currently no CRL , would it be aprovable ? Could it be taken to expert infantry or centurion ?

-
The belt material appears to be 57 mm white nylon webbing . If you eBay search that ( in the U.K.) it’s available from military suppliers as the British army uses it for white ceremonial belts . It’s called courline webbing or parade belt webbing. it’s about 15 pounds for 1 1/2 meters . there’s no point in me posting a link as it will be out of date for readers in the future . I still can’t find a hi res clear picture of the U trim .
-
So, apart from “ contact cfo “ or “ contact Tm “ does anyone have actual sources of the 2 1/4 nylon webbing for belts, or the 10 mm up trim for around the body armour . Actual modern companies that sell to the public ???? im not excluding mark or Paul from the discussion, I just would like a source new members/ builders can use to locate their soft goods . id include white soled Chelsea boots in this enquiry, but I’m a realist . Lol . cheers folks.

The archive is owned by Lucas film . The licensing for Star Wars items is through Disney . No access to the lucasfilm archive comes with a Disney license . This answers your question .

Rs props had a genuine crate , although they never discovered what it originally was , it had holes in the sides, and maybe childrens school playground equipment was considered . Unfortunately a mould wasn’t taken , and it was lost in the fire of 2021.

ANH/S, ANH/H, ESB - can they share common parts?
Rob .T . replied to CallMeMrTibbles's topic in Expert Infantry Program
A couple of years ago I made an ESB conversion kit for my RS props new hope armour . My garrison trooped at a live orchestra screening of the movie ESB , so I quickly sorted an ESB costume . the main thing was the helmet, and as a helmet collector I luckily already had an RS ESB helmet , that would have been the expensive part . I picked up some cotton gloves and ESB handgards from RS , leaving just the holster issue . Luckily the RS holster is attached by Chicago screws, so I unfastened the holster straps , ( ok, it left holes in the belt on the left... but hardly noticeable) then with some offcuts of leather ( a cheap black leather belt from the cheap shop) I made two ESB loops to fasten to the holster with the original Chicago screws , allowing the holster to loop onto the belt on the right side. It was a quick and simple conversion kit that was completely reversible , and I've got it saved for another event one day . The whole " kit" is stored inside my ESB helmet . -

Forget the colour discrepancy, no one will ever notice , just build your new belt and troop on . After the first troop you will have forgotten there's a colour difference . -

CableGuy renovates RS Prop Masters ANH Stunt
Rob .T . replied to CableGuy's topic in ANH Build Threads
That's an amazing rescue job you have done there Dan . It really looks the part . The green really mimicked the pp green of Simons helmet . And the very brave black on grey paint job really works well . Good job . -
Tips on breaking in new boots from IB?
Rob .T . replied to Toothdoc's topic in Boots, Soft Parts, and other Accessories
I have those boots , I don't think they need breaking in , I collected mine at an RS props open day a few years ago, and simply wore them for the whole event ...broke in nicely lol . I've trooped regularly in them for four years at least before lockdown , and have never cleaned them , they still look smart . Not quite " like new" but no real marks scuffs or creases . The leather they use is good quality , and is coloured well . -
Finally ordered my first set of armor! RS ANH-S in ABS
Rob .T . replied to TK Monkus's topic in ANH (Stunt and Hero)
I don't understand why you didn't just order the blaster from RS . Theirs are super accurate , and unlike others, have a hollow alloy tube down the middle, making them super strong and infinitely customisable if you go that route . -
Threads on the r.p.f have discussed and identified these , I believe on the promo picture and hero blaster . Not all the blasters though .
