  1. Sell it on eBay and buy armour from a reputable vendor . It's just not worth the hassle .
  2. If you are interested in screen accuracy, forget hips. RS Propmasters in the uk have just announced ( July 2020) a run of hdpe helmets , moulded from their original stunt helmet . For screen accuracy there is simply nothing to compare , it's as close as possible .
  3. I recently trooped ( last year 2019) the ESB movie in concert event here in the uk . As I have an esb helmet in my collection , I decided to convert my new hope armour into esb just for this event . it was fairly simple , I just picked up,some esb gloves and hand guards from RS Propmasters , made some holster straps from scrap leather , and wore my black toothed esb helmet . A very simple conversion that easily converted back to a.n.h. Really it's just the helmet paint scheme that is obviously different . By all means go esb ....dare to be different !!!! Lol .
  4. Welcome along Rich, nice helmet . Have you seen the YouTube video ?
  5. Adam, as you summised, , both sets of ears are identical, one left and one right in each set .
  6. Yes, I think that's exactly what has happened .
  7. Paul has dragged up some ancient grudge to " justify" recasting ??? I am totally staggered . This is no justification at all .
  8. Trying to stay on topic, I admire and respect the way Daetrin has replied to this thread , and find great difficulty understanding the attitude of the U.K.G. SSskunky 's posting above pretty much sums up the situation .
  9. The sharpening up of certain areS is talked about in the original post by c.f.o.
  10. The F.I.S.D is full of newcomers who have no idea what this is about . Only a few regulars and site supporters really comprehend the enormity of these accusations. That's why it's not getting noticed, and it's buried away in " recasters discussions" forum which no newbies care about .
  11. No, it's not a rough pull, you are looking at material outsid e the mould parameters that needs to be trimmed off . Simply put, more trimming is needed if those ears are ever going to fit . Nothing wrong with the plastic.
  12. Yes it's all,one part, but like some other parts of your armour is based upon return of the Jedi armour , totally different from new hope armour . The top and bottom halfs of the all in one piece line up differently on a new hope armour . Once the belt is in position it won't be obvious to the general, public . Don't let it bother you , carry on enjoying your build .
  13. So how do you do the return edges ? And what about the stomach / cod alignment ?
  14. Dimple is front of left bicep . Check the movie reference photos . Your armour appears to be return of the Jedi, not new hope , I'm not sure how you will achieve the new hope hero look you are going for .
  15. I'm pretty sure that the mr no stripes look isn't acceptable for clearance with the UKG however ...just icase you were thinking it might be a nice way to sort out your tube stripe problems .
  16. Bit of a pointless post without photos or information .
  17. Sounds like you sent the wrong measurements to them , but they are a cool company to work with , give them a ring this week and chat to them about the issue. They will try to help .
  18. Make the forearms fit your arms , that's my advice !
  19. Wolfgang, are you subscribed to the RS Propmasters YouTube channel ? They have posted quite a few " how to build" videos recently . Have a good look ...they cover building the biceps in great detail .
  20. Did you have your eyes shut at the time ?
  21. Do you subscribe to RS Propmasters YouTube channel ? They are running a series of " how to " videos right now .
  22. Yes it's a customer built RS helmet , with new style stand. If you can repainted the tubestripes, and fettle the ear fitment , it will be a nice project . But , it does need work to make it nice.
  23. It's simple..leave the s trim until the end , after you have worn the helmet with neck seal and are happy with its fit. Then remember to cut it half inch too long and force it on , so that its own tension holds it in place . As to your build thread over on the U.K.G forum , no members can comment on your build except your allocated armourer , or other members of the tk armourers team .
  24. A new hopearmor is under 2 mm thick in most places . A 3 d print isnt going to be strong enough . your best bet is to buy armour from a reccomended supplier , and use the 3d printer to print the gun , there are plenty accurate patterns on thingiverse
  25. Tk uk is awful...and most importantly, very inaccurate and a ton of work to make acceptable for the 591 st . Think of it as a Halloween costume, not a trooping option .
