  4. Hi James, and thank you for your Centurion application! CRL and Centurion Application Requirements: All required photos have been submitted, and on behalf of the entire D.O. staff we are pleased to welcome you to the rank of CENTURION. Congratulations! Other-Armor Fit/Assembly; In this area we review observations made by your fellow troopers and the DO team. Some observations may lead to suggestions to improve the overall look of your armour. Note that we consider both text (CRL) and pictures (screen caps/reference images) when reviewing submissions. -The counter is in the correct position (not too high or too far back) but the angle is just a tiny bit off. Maybe you can correct the position of the counter and the blaster will be much more accurate. Reference images You did a great work on the requested fixes James (especially the blaster and the Han Snap). Congratulations for reaching Centurion level .

Chris Forsythe (darkstar) Alexander Hibbs Randall Hornibrook @TheDecisiveRaindrop (JR) TK55590 Diego Rubalcava Cambre Johnson Thank you guys so much. The raffle was fun. 6. Hey all! TI25674 here. I recently received my ANH stunt kit from Walt's. I have a decent start I think but I'm getting to a point where I need input outside of Facebook and looking at tutorials (and man there are a lot of them!). Ideally Im going to go sandy with this build, so keeping that in mind. So some details below: Kit - Walts Trooper Factory (bucket too) Boots - Imperial Boots Undersuit - generic 2-piece from Amazon Gloves - Generic nomex for now Blaster - 1992 Hasbro with conversion kit Ill start with the shoulder, bicep, forearm and chest/back which is where I am at. I didn't take a lot of photos before starting this thread. After some feedback on the FB group, my concern is the chest might be slightly too small for my "dad bod". I'm 5'10" at 180 lbs. But most of my weight is on the front. I was told to work the torso parts out then see how it fits before looking into a bigger chest. So here is where i'm at:

  11. WOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Great job, James - your suit looks phenomenal. I knew after I met you and saw your armor that you'd be a Centurion in a matter of time. Wear that patch with pride now! Awesome work and a huge congrats!

  13. In the original armors they had a return edge at the bottom of the chest plate because their strapping system required it, with screws in that return edge. However, there is one example of screen used armor not having that return edge: Luke, being too short for a Stormtrooper, has that return edge cut off to shorten the chest plate for a better fit. My personal opinion? It looks a bit flat without a return edge. You don't have to leave a large one (not even one large enough for screws if you're not using the original strapping), but I'd leave a few millimetres, so it doesn't look too flat. Maybe you should just leave it for now, try it with the ab plate and then see how it looks. You can always take more off, but I wouldn't want to have to re-make return edges

  14. Good tip by James above, and pretty much the same process i take when adding cover strips.

  15. I personally think the chest looks fine as of now. But you really have to get it all together to really know. the shoulder to chest gap looks nice. But things will move around once you have kidney and butt plate connected down low to the cod ab piece. Just stay on it. Looking good so far bud.

  16. Definitely looks like you can add some more plastic on the sides, make sure you strengthen the area with a plate behind. I used JB weld in the sides which has held up really well over the years, takes a while to dry but you can sand it quite easily. Good luck tackling this mod, I'm sure you'll come through it just fine

  17. Mission "Complete Commander Pyre in 2 weeks" is in full swing at the moment. The paintshop made an amazing job for the high gloss parts. This night I'm doing a 5 hour drive to a plating company which will plate the armor in full gold optics. In the best case I can pick it up next wednesday, which gives me 2 more days for strapping

  19. A trick I learned when doing mine, if gluing on cover strips one side at a time, start with the side that faces outward first, so you can get a flush seam on the more exposed/visible side. This is because the second side may be a bit more difficult getting super flush as you've already locked down the first. Sometimes I had to use locking clamps to secure a flush seam as the rigidity of the cover strip and the armor may be a bit stubborn. Also when using locking clamps, don't press too hard, I've managed to squeeze all the e6000 out of the cracks it didn't adhere at all, hours wasted ><

  21. I reluctantly have the EIB award as instead of correcting the holster strap width, an argument ensued. I knew that after fixing the broken parts of your armour, fitting your ab and kidney plates together then your armour standard would be centurion. My job was to help and guide to improve your look and a number of people decided to poke fun at me and throw insults. I would have proudly congratulated you for EIB if it was how I liked it at the time. Instead, I was honest and reluctantly passes you under pressure. I have not filled in the paperwork for two EIB applicants yet as I am operating from an iPhone only. Once your EIB paperwork is done. Then you will be processed for centurion. It would be nice to have seen the belt on in a picture of a ruler to show scale. You will have met the centurion requirements. Now, moving on. Poking fun at the DO is not constructive. At the end of the day I am a volunteer here to do a certain job. Let's line up the next and new DO if anyone is interested in this selfless task. I had more fun on FISD before having this responsibility for processing, admin and paperwork. With regards to standards may I say the following. Every detail cannot be put down in writing. Things change as new info and original material is discovered. What was once right in the past can change when new info is found. The armour looks different on different sized people and needs changes from person to person to suit. All the ANH film Stormtroopers were around the same size wearing the same production line suit. This is why you guys have to make scaling and size adjustments to suit you. Have you tried defining and putting that in a manual? The awards follow the CRL, but a visual inspection on how it looks on you is where it's at.

  22. Well well well guys. I have been away on business for the past few days and have come back to this spectacle. It doesn't matter what has been passed before. Different DO's see different things. The holster hanging strap widths are too wide I and I wanted to take this up with Rob and Simon at RS as to where they got their measurements from. Time and time again, it has been illustrated that not every detail is written in the CRL. The film screen shots are the source material. Source material is not previous applicants pictures. I like to promote constructive critique. The comments posted up about the measurements diagram is a superb example of helping. The comments about, my old armour passed like this unfortunately doesn't help. The comments from one member of FISD staff was supportive. Whilst the other comment from an FISD staff member was frankly embarrassing. I reluctantly grant a pass on this application with its 30mm holster straps. It is not a CRL comparison. It is a visual comment. It is a catagory that falls into armour construction. It is an area that could have been addressed with a Sharp knife for no cost to the applicant by trimming 5mm from either side of the strap to bring it in closer to 20mm It may have even looked fine at 25mm It just didn't look right at 30mm So.. This applicant has his EIB pass. I don't want to see another 30mm strap, it isn't likely going to achieve a centurion award. The
