Hey all! TI25674 here. I recently received my ANH stunt kit from Walt's. I have a decent start I think but I'm getting to a point where I need input outside of Facebook and looking at tutorials (and man there are a lot of them!). Ideally Im going to go sandy with this build, so keeping that in mind. So some details below: Kit - Walts Trooper Factory (bucket too) Boots - Imperial Boots Undersuit - generic 2-piece from Amazon Gloves - Generic nomex for now Blaster - 1992 Hasbro with conversion kit Ill start with the shoulder, bicep, forearm and chest/back which is where I am at. I didn't take a lot of photos before starting this thread. After some feedback on the FB group, my concern is the chest might be slightly too small for my "dad bod". I'm 5'10" at 180 lbs. But most of my weight is on the front. I was told to work the torso parts out then see how it fits before looking into a bigger chest. So here is where i'm at:3 points

Mission "Complete Commander Pyre in 2 weeks" is in full swing at the moment. The paintshop made an amazing job for the high gloss parts. This night I'm doing a 5 hour drive to a plating company which will plate the armor in full gold optics. In the best case I can pick it up next wednesday, which gives me 2 more days for strapping3 points

A trick I learned when doing mine, if gluing on cover strips one side at a time, start with the side that faces outward first, so you can get a flush seam on the more exposed/visible side. This is because the second side may be a bit more difficult getting super flush as you've already locked down the first. Sometimes I had to use locking clamps to secure a flush seam as the rigidity of the cover strip and the armor may be a bit stubborn. Also when using locking clamps, don't press too hard, I've managed to squeeze all the e6000 out of the cracks it didn't adhere at all, hours wasted ><2 points

Hey everyone! Today I want to introduce a kinda different WIP. Realistic Commander Pyre I dont know yet, if this will ever be CRL ready, but I still want to do it. After doing a damn nice Captain Phasma last year, I need a chrome dome for myself. There is actually a „deeper“ meaning behind that project. I mean, a freakin gold chrome Stormtrooper is damn cool on its own. But when I found out, that Mr. Liam McIntyte voiced him, I NEEDED to do that costume. I’m a huge fan of Liam’s work, his role in Spartacus in particular. When we first back in 2013 and I had the luck to talk to him for like 30 minutes behind the stage. He told me there how much he’d love to do something for Star Wars. Which happened and I am really happy for him. Liam is definetly one of the nicest celebrities I ever met, he is super down to earth and just an amazing human being. And when I contacted him, if he’d like to see the costume project, he was amazed and wanted to see it. And well. He supports it with video messages. Like. WHAAAAT! In all seriousness, I’m hyped, super happy and super motivated to get this costume done. I used a Phoenix Props TFA style helmet as a base, got it painted in gloss black and got it gold chromed in the UK. The problem I have is mixed ref. In the animated series, Pyre has black bands around the helmet, but theres no black brow present (also not at the normal TFA TKs) . The realistic HASBRO figure has NO black brow and NO black bands. So thats kinda .. mixed. If necessary for CRL, I'll need to get it chromed again, but for now, I'll leave it like that. I actually like it with the black details as it gives more contrast. There's also a YouTube video of the making, including Liams message. I have an ANOVOS pauldron in red, but need it in black. Either I find someone, who's willing to trade or sell, or Im going to paint the red in black. Further, I have an old BETA Anovos First Order TK armor set. Pyre is technically a generic TFA TK, although there are some minor changes, like 2 bars at both lower leg armor. All the best Dino1 point

Hi all! After being approved a couple of weeks back, I'm finally getting around to checking in. I've had a blast putting together my armor over the last year and I can't wait to get trooping! Many thanks to all of you here on the forums, especially @ukswrath for his amazing Anovos tutorial. This has always been my dream costume and I'm beyond grateful for everyone that has assisted along the way. Long live the Empire!1 point

Working on the torso, cut the kidney in the middle and gained a few inches. Still need to get a few more, thinking of adding 2 inches on each side after the last body box. Not sure on how this will affect the chest and back, will try to mock this up and use a lot of tape. You can see the zipper I will add and the TD plate. Currently the plate barely covers the gap (could always add more plastic in this area.1 point

Looking good, FYI the only sewing I normally do on these are just down the sides and the center seams, usually the glue is enough but I like the added strength1 point
