  1. Requesting 501st access ! :-) https://www.501st.com/members/searchresults.php?searchfield=75608&criteria=tkid Commander Pyre out
  2. All pictures have been sent off to the DL. Now it lies in the hands of the LMO. Super hyped!
  3. Nah it's all good. As long as Im not naked or do a silly face xP On the Cod you really just see my hands and my mobile, I guess it could be worse but yea you can try to just draw me out of the picture. Thats something I didnt want to ask my buddy because thats time consuming as hell. For the new movies they drew the camera guys out of the 3PO shots every frame
  4. I tried various photos, the one I posted here was the best. If I lay it flat on the ground, you'll just see my arms with my phone. What I posted here is the best I can do. Other than that I could just photograph it somewhere else but then you see the rest of my appartment. And if I have to redo the cod piece now, I have to redo all the others that I have taken as well and thats a little frustrating. Thats the downside if you want to take a picture of a mirror. I would appreciate if we can move along with the fact that reflections are inevitable. I can just minimize them.. How to sell mirrors only Regarding the editing I agree but maybe it speeds up things. I'd love to troop officially in Pyre for May 4th so I do what I can to support as best as I can EDIT: Updated CRL draft here with pictures

  6. Celebration is over, as you have seen probably, I missed all the group photos. It was hella stresful because of multiple things. But all in all it was great wearing Pyre - also because of the resonance. "Finally some appreciation for Resistance" haha So in regards of the Ref Pics for the CRL, I asked a good friend of mine who does Photoshop for a living to edit one picture as an example. I asked him to cut it out and put it on a transparent background, so less work for you guys I assume. The reflection however is something I really cant get rid of. My photobox is the most neutral background I could offer, thats just the downside of being a shiny. And just for transparency, the corners top left and right are edited, you cannot see it but as you can imagine, natural wear and tear is crazy especially with chrome plated pieces, so there were scratches down to the black undercoat. And obviously I cannot rechrome all parts directly haha If this works, I'll do all the other photos asap
  7. I know some parts are not sitting 100% right, but for a first try with the new parts Im very happy with it
  8. As Celebration comes closer every day, I feel like I can do a more or less big update today. I can finally post the first CRL pictures! :-) I hope they are good to work with. The ones that are missing need final strapping which should be done in the next few days. Boots: Spats / Shins: Those parts are glued together as Dan did with his kit. Tricky to get on but everything stays in place :-D Knee plates with gaskets: Thighs: Codpiece: Posterior armor: Abdomen Armor: Detonator:
  9. thank you guys! Just heard back from the chromers. They said it should be done by the end of next week which is awesome. So plenty of time left for strapping and all that stuff
  10. Its big update time I changed some parts with the Denuo Novo kit. New bicep armor The ab armor was the most time consuming part. As I will never ever fit into the standard Anovos ab armor (I'd need to cut my pelvic bone lol), I decided to go with the DN parts and add 5cm of material on each side. And because Im super OCD, I bondoed the seams with 2part exoxy glue. For the ouside boxes it was lots of measuring to get it nice and accurately on the new area but I think it looks good now The inside is reinforced with fiberglass. There wont break anything. I reinforced the cast from original detonator with fiberglass as well. Also I built the spats that I made for this project. The back/joke has also added material. Also I cut in the slots for the straps that hold the shoulders. Last time I forgot to add these and before I rechrome that part, I thought that I add them this time. Almost all parts laid out. -- So all parts that needs to be grey are at the paintshop again. All parts that need rechroming, are at the chromers. This time I'll use a different company which does the silver nitrate procedure. They do the back/joke and spats asap so I get them before Celebration. After that I probably get everything redone, depending on how good they match the golden color
  11. Definetly. I'll just have to make some changes to the upper body as I want it to be a perfect fit. Truth said, loosing weight will never be enough that I fit perfectly in it. My pelvic bone is in the way and prevents the ab armor from closing perfectly. So I'll have to cut the AB armor, shim it as well as make the chest and back a little bigger. resulting in getting those parts new chromed. Urgh. But well. The armor was sitting hre long enough. Time to get it done
  12. Good evening guys! Not a real update but Im still alive. What I can say is that I made a 2nd helmet that is closer to the BS reference, although it looks weird. Visor from Phoenix Props is missing, once its there I'll post pictures. The armor itself is currently laying around at @R2Dan for some upgrades and better fittings My goal is to have everything done by the end of the year. Definetly for Celebration!
  13. some stuff has to be fixed , but I'll post a bigger update in the following days. Can I still join the FISD photo with Pyre being not approved yet?
  14. Hey there! This thread is certainly not dead yet. Im currently modding some pieces to be more accurate to the screen used fo tks from tfa with Dans help. Also the blaster is finished. Just need to take some time to post everything here. Question: Could I attend with Pyre at the FISD group photo at SWCA?
  15. Thank you all for your kind words! @LEGOeatPokemon yes! I am currently working on the F11-D Heavy Rifle ( Phasma Style ) as I like that blaster style most. It will have the TRamp blaster board as well as a fancy function noone else has. But that will be shown in a video @Ripper_L definetly planned is Comic Con Dortmund in December. Since Liam is now announced for Magic Con next month.. maybe there as well. Depends on if I get the blaster finished until then @gmrhodes13 thank you for analysing my dressing video. Keep in mind that that was the very first gearing up. The gaskets were borrowed and didnt fit me around the chest. My own set is on order at Teresa Also, I need to loose more weight to really fit in the costume. The ab piece doesnt close fully in the back, hence the chest and back dont align at the sides well and I guess thats also why the chest is a little up. Or because I am always standing very straight. The belt definetly can be a little tighter. The bicep / forearm issue might just be the strapping. Not sure what I can do about the Chest yoke corner tbh. Thats how the Anovos piece was. I probably just cut it. But adjustments can always be made As I said in the beginning, Im not looking to rush this project. I see it still as a longterm project and also of some sort of WIP on my person with weight loss etc.
  16. Alright .. recap time. Last Thursday I picked up everything from the chrome guys. That was a total of 20 hours by car. Personally, I wouldn't do it again unless there is a valid reason, although the highway to the east was very, very empty and almost always unlimited. You could podrace a bit there. Anyhow. The chromers did a good job, with some parts needing to be remade. But it's not a huge drama. Then I spent the days (Thursday evening, the entire Friday + Saturday) with the strapping. So the Saturday at the con itself. Thanks to my supporters kept the booth running. On Saturday I gave Liam McIntyre an extra set of gloves with handplates (whatever he should do with them, but hey. I don't need 2 pairs and he thought it was cool - Mission accomplished) and an embroidered shirt with a Pyre helmet + Commander Pyre - Build Crew and my logo on the back. Even then I thought "he won't wear it anyway". Then Sunday .. the moment of truth. In the livestream on Instagram I then pulled (got) everything for the first time. The video is on IGTV: https://www.instagram.com/tv/CTt0cl4KfWc/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link You can also see Liam's reaction directly there. Incredibly awesome! And he actually wore my shirt! Just awesome. The rest of the day I took photos with a lot of people. Then there was the moment when Liam stopped by my booth and looked at all the props. He celebrated everything - which I celebrated a lot :-D :-D :-D He also signed the helmet from the inside In general, I can only say: I didn't think that everything would work out like this, but the stress was absolutely worth it. Sunday was definitely one of the best days of my life. Here are the pictures A new helmet is needed for the CRL. The helmet is already gold chrome-plated and will then get the black details at some point in the days. + taking photos for the CRL of the individual parts
  17. Yes, we matched the color from the figure. "Schiefergrau - RAL 7015" fits best.
  18. So I copied from the FOTK and Phasma TLJ CRL and edited the wording. Edited wording is marked green. Let me know what you think

  20. Mission "Complete Commander Pyre in 2 weeks" is in full swing at the moment. The paintshop made an amazing job for the high gloss parts. This night I'm doing a 5 hour drive to a plating company which will plate the armor in full gold optics. In the best case I can pick it up next wednesday, which gives me 2 more days for strapping
  21. This really turns into a speedbuild haha So I spend the entire day yesterday to finish up the detonator and did some mods on the chest plate. The cfo detonator has a foam core. I dremeled on the left side a little hole into the foam and filled it to the top with resin. With a hand sized gas burner I eliminated all air bubbles on the surface, minimizing the clean up work. The mod on the chest was fairly easy, I thought. First I filled them with 2part epoxy glue and sanded everything down with a mouse sander. It turned out those engraved lines are not symmetrical. My inner OCD triggered af taking out the measurement band.. Once everything measured correctly, I took the cutting tool of my dremel and pre cut the new lines and then refined them with a regular file. Then I cut out the slot detail by simply sanding the back side of the resin block. Done Now everythings at the paintshop 5 minutes away from me. They aim to finish the gloss black parts by Thursday or Friday by latest so I have one week to drive 500km to get the parts vac metalized. The grey parts however can be finished next week. For the grey we decided that RAL 7015 "Schiefergrau" fits best. Its kinda dark but looks also very decent when in direct light. It will be matte but since the paint will be very smooth, it will still reflect the light like a satin finish. Question: The back part of the 2 front boxes.. also grey or black like on Phasma, FOTK etc? I cant really see it on the toy.
