  1. Hot off the heals of our Victory1000 celebrations, FISD are proud to bring you our next target event. We are fast approaching another milestone and another chance to celebrate victory as we hit 500 Centurions approved. This miles stone will also come with another special Centurion only piece of merch for the first 500, in the form of a pin to match the Expert Infantry exclusive. Our very own gmrhodes13 (Glen) has outdone himself yet again and put together the perfect introduction for this milestone event so without further adieu, FISD brings you. THERE ARE ONLY 7 POSITIONS ON THE GRID, SO IT'S TIME TO HIT THE ACCELERATOR, SHIFT INTO HYPER-DRIVE AND HELP US BLAST ACROSS THE LINE! Now that we have reached 1000 Expert Infantry, It's time to once again become part of FISD history and enter the "Centurion 500" We are aiming to have 500 approved Centurions by the end of the year. We only have 7 to go, so in order to reach that goal we are asking that you read over the CRLs for your particular armor, (this thread will help) make any necessary adjustments and post up your submission! Photo Checklists - Link here Apply here Questions: 1. Not sure if I have what it takes to reach Centurion- You don't know until you try, and you have not only the D.O. staff but an entire Detachment to help! 2. I need some repairs/fixes first- This is why we are here! We honestly want you to succeed and are here to help in any way we can. 3. I am happy with the way my armor looks, so why bother?- It not only makes you look more screen accurate, it instills a sense of pride and "esprit de corps"! 4. What if I don't make it? No worries, we will provide detailed suggestions on how to reach your goal! Benefits: 1 Bragging rights for being one of the "Original 500" 2. You get a cool badge under your name here on the FISD (full forum version) 3. Access to Exclusive Centurion500 pin for those in the original 500. 4. Certificate for your accomplishment. 5. You will have a more screen accurate looking set of armor. Now that the entire Staff and those who have reached Levels 2 and 3 are here to help in any way we can, you are more than welcome (and encouraged) to ask any and all questions you may have here on this thread, or contact Joseph, Sha Sha or Mario. Let's get up to speed, push that throttle and prepare for lightspeed, you can do it troopers Your Deployment Officers, Staff and the whole detachment crew are standing by ready to assist If you'd like to show your support on FB here is the link to the Centurion500 profile frame www.facebook.com/profilepicframes/?selected_overlay_id=331320651285964

  2. Nice work, looking great, I'll just add watch the height of your thighs they differ in the rear photo. Also drop boxes are not aligned in a few photos I wouldn't add mobility cuts, you have some pretty big gaps there now and should get a lot of movement as is. Good luck with approval.

  3. Sounds like you are ready to sell this kit.. sorry to hear that, Brian! Please post up a sales thread in this area with the price, shipping costs, what all is included and some detailed pics. It would really help if you added your height, weight, build, boot size etc. for anyone who is interested. Heck, I may even be interested myself!

  5. You could also have your screws closer to the ends of the clips. Great work on the fixes, hope to see you at centurion soon.

  6. I have skinny arms and had to add a little foam to the insides to help them sit right so don't worry too much if you find they are a little loose

  7. If the biceps fit you well, and your shoulder bells fit over them and look the part, then there's no problem. Hot water bathing them would be to change the shape better to fit you, but since they already fit, no altering should be necessary.

  9. Well, since centurion500 became announced today I took a shot at all the things recommended by @justjoseph63 in my EI request Touched up the vocoder and brought it up a bit: Hopefully fixed the distance between the left bicep and bell, and the distance between right bell and shoulder Fixed the sniper knee Moved the hengstler counter forward on the E-11 (BTW can I remove the plastic cables, they are really in the way?) And lastly, shortened the strip on the TD I should be able to request centurion tomorrow as some glue dries, hopefully it will go well.

  10. So I moved the scope. The final straw was that when holstered in my Darman's Props holster, the scope prevented blaster from seating down where the magazine would be in the notch. So broke the glued front piece, and removed the rail and counter: Because I would now be able to glue the scope down onto the bolts, I could glue the front piece to the main scope and keep it all as one unit. I added a third bolt, threaded into the rail, that would help secure the front part of the scope, so that all three "pieces" would have a bolt mount to help keep it all attached. I drilled new rail holes for the new scope location, threaded the bolts in, and then mounted the whole rail and Hengstler bracket mounts back on to the blaster. For the three holes in the scope, I widened them to 1/8", so that it could slide down onto the bolts. I filled the holes with glue (using a small nail to push it in, and add more), and the scope just slid on to the ribbed bolts with some pressure, a snug fit: So it looks great, and it is now secure in the more accurate scope location, with the rear lens just peeking out beyond the Hengstler counter: Fits the holster like a dream now: All told, it was only about a 30 minute fix. Thanks for keeping me striving for accuracy!

  12. That is actually brilliant. I can't believe I didn't think of that. I foraged up a sandpaper belt I can use for that purpose. I started trimming the right biceps and feel pretty happy with that. I decided to leave some return edge on the bottom of it while trimming off the top to prevent biting. There's a little bit extra that comes off at the top of the bicep that I can't find on anyone else's builds really and I think I need to trim it off. But it doesn't seem like the two pieces will really come together evenly if I do that. Should that extra at the top be cut off? In the mean time, I've preassembled with tape. Next, the left bicep!

  18. Thank you! Yes, you've picked up a good issue here - adjusting the thigh height (also mentioned by Tarok) will fix both the gaps and the drop boxes issue (they seem to have snagged on the thigh edges). Thank you again! Sent from my Imperial Communicator

  19. Hey Dan, Many thanks for your feedback. I truly appreciate it. The Hovi mic tips are Ukswrath's speakers. I've taken another photo with the flash, here: Thanks for the bicep and belt details. I'll make some decisions once I'm looking at higher levels. As for that cover strip ont eh left thigh, yes, I contemplated the position for a while. Your suggestion would look good, so I'll add this to my list. Thanks again and I appreciate your time.

  21. TK porn! [emoji7] Seriously though, great job, Mark. This should be a cake walk for our GML. My only observation, or question, is whether you could drop your thighs a smidge?

  22. I think I'm nearing the end of my build now. If you have time, I'd love feedback on what I need to work on or change before I post in the pre-approval thread. Thanks in advance for your help and a mighty thanks to everyone who gave me advice along the way. What a ride! Note: I'm yet to make mobility cuts and after today's full fitting will shape the shoulder bridges a little more to get them lower at the back. I may also put some padding inside the AB plate so the kidney plate and AB plate stay aligned on the right side (the bottom seems to swing in a little when the belt is on). PS - I love the wonky sniper plate!

  24. Teresa and I have been speaking and she has a few Phasma's lined up to help us out with the CRL work. This CRL needs much consideration and re writing in a few areas as will the TLJ version. I'd just like to add, we are not in a hurry to pump this out as it has needed work since it's inception and the aim of this thread is to pool our ideas before buckling down and making Phasma CRL's the best they can be for our members. As they currently stand, they aren't really fit for purpose when it comes to Expert Infantry ( no level 3 currently) and they are not clear in definition separating TFA from TLJ with several elements. As well as the written components, new imagery may also need to be used as our CRL's are a combination of the two mediums. We also have the ability to add an extended gallery to these CRL's which will also make a difference to GML's and members alike. This will take as long as it takes and neither Teresa or I intend to rush this process. All staff and attache's are welcome to input for these costumes, as I would like to make sure we have good discussion points to create a full brief before we move to the next stage of allowing membership feedback. I envisage this overhaul will indeed effect basic and EI approvals so all care must be taken to get them as fair and accurate as we can. All input will be under consideration.

  27. I marked the holes on the inner strip side and used a dremel to sand out the holes to match the inner strip. I used a small cone sanding attachment to make room for the small sanding drum to even it out. Then, following cricket’s tutorial, I lined up the other side and taped and used magnets to keep it closed. Then, with them still held closed, I used the same two step process to sand out the other side.

  28. Mark, you have an AMAZING build thread going here! Very nice photography, great questions and SUPER feedback from the rest of the team. I really enjoy seeing these threads and pouring over them! So valuable to the new trooper. I'm learning so much and each one of them is just a little different. I've thought about why someone hasn't just made an instruction book or guide in how to do this, but fitting them to each human body is such a different challenge each time its done. It's truly a custom work of art each time! Keep up your fine work, sir, and best of luck in your completion. Now get back to work!
