  1. Great question, the FISD has never been in the habit of making someone pull out a ruler to check measurement. Specific numbers are generally to be used as a guideline. The term "little" gap used by Glen though broad would also allow for minor imperfections. Without it's absolutely black and white, no pun intended That said we've all heard the CRLs may be changing, to what extent has yet to be determined. Threads like this are where you can voice your facts, opinions and provide screen shots for reference.

  2. Hi! Sick of photobucket being a slow, bloated piece of bantha poodoo (that now apparently charges you insane amounts for external hosting)? Wish you could just upload some images to your build thread to show off your sweet-an impolite person testfit of your armor after you've done all the strapping and not use 50% of that time closing popups? FEAR NOT! PSA: Keep a backup of your images! No one can predict the future, Imgur may not always be around (or may hold your images hostage like Photobucket). 1) CLICK THIS TO GO TO IMGUR.COM (Or you could click the mouse wheel, which opens any link in a new tab) 2) Make an account: 3) Fill in your stuff or use Facebook/Google whatever: 4) Go to your images: 5) Find your awesome picture: 6) Drag and drop your awesome picture right onto Imgur (or use CTRL C+V): 7) Click your newly uploaded picture: 8) Click the Copy button on the BBCode section: It will flash green and stuff, welcome to the future! This baby's almost ready for paint! Pretty painless! It also has albums, ability to auto-resize, you can even select several pictures from your folders and just drag them all onto Imgur. Pictures are hosted on imgur, and you are merely linking to them by posting them using this method. If you remove it from imgur, it will be removed from anywhere else you posted it using the link. Here's what all the sections do: Image Link: Links to the image, but on Imgur. [EXAMPLE] Direct Link: Links directly to the image, and nothing but the image. [EXAMPLE] Markdown Link: Formatting for Reddit comments, disregard this one. HTML: For embedding your picture onto your website. HTML Code. BBCode: For embedding your picture onto forums (like FISD and 99% of all other forums). Linked BBCode: Same as above but with a clickable picture that leads to the picture on Imgur. [Example below, click it!] HOW TO RESIZE YOUR PHOTOS FROM YOUR SMARTPHONE/CAMERA IF YOU HAVE BANTHA POODOO INTERNET CONNECTION (WINDOWS ONLY): If you're like me, you have a sub-par internet connection and a "regular" smartphone. Smartphones takes pictures with a large file size and it is not optimal for us with a bad connection wanting to upload it for web viewing. 3.5mb takes a long time to upload, so let's shrink those files while still keeping it high quality for the web. 1) Open up the pic in MS Paint Right clicking the image and clicking edit should open up the selected pic in Paint. If you highlight multiple images and do this, it should open an instance of paint for every selected pic. 2) Resize in Paint Click the "resize" button in MS Paint. You'll see this: Click TAB once and it should highlight the number, making you able to type into the field. I usually resize my pics from my Samsung S8 by 40-50%. Press OK (or just hit enter) and it should resize. Now you can go to File->Save/Save As.. or simply just press CTRL+S to overwrite and save to the file you opened. Now it only takes a few seconds to upload a picture, instead of a minute. Time saved that you can use on removing excess E6000 glue from your coverstrips If you have any questions i'll do my best to answer them. Ensi out!

  3. So, I had a weird thing happen to my PayPal account. PayPal has "limited" my account. Which means they have frozen my PayPal account. I can't buy anything, transfer funds, or send money... but I can receive payment. Well, PayPal can receive payment since I have no access to the money. They were not very clear on why they did this. I called in and talked to customer service to little avail. They want me to provide additional personal information (which I have now done) to unlock my account (pending review of documents). But after reading a number of posts online, this is no guarantee. We'll see. The thing is - I've had the account for 15 years and it has been verified the whole time with updated banking info added throughout. This last month (or so) is the first time I actually carried a PayPal balance. A balance which PayPal has essentially seized and basically held ransom for more personal info. After a Google search, I found out this is not uncommon. If PayPal "suspects suspicious activity" they can limit (aka freeze) your account for 180 days (according to a quick Google search) plus whatever time it takes to get it reopened (see Anovos' customer service record for analogy - just kidding, but some of the frustration translates IMO). Once the account is returned to normal (they say three days) I will be making a point of never carrying a PayPal balance. I'm sure they have issues enforcing security measures to ensure accounts are valid - but in my case, they provided no transparency as to why I was flagged. In fact, I believe the customer service agent mentioned it was a systematic audit. I find it too much of a coincidence that this occurred the first time I carried a PayPal balance (do this to a few thousand people every day - I'm sure the interest on the money would add up - if that is the game here). As PayPal seems to be the main method for payment for merch, this is very disappointing and alarming. I will see how this turns out in the next couple of days - but when I logged into my account last night and found it deactivated I lost a lot of faith in using PayPal. I just wanted people to be aware of this and see if others have had the same experience. end rant

  4. Thanks, that’s all really useful. Going to shape as much as I can then trim the end and add the curves in. All great advice and support as usual from everyone, really appreciate it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  5. Hiya, Just to be safe, I thought I’d mention the positioning of the thigh Ammo pack. At the moment, yours is positioned too high. As below, the top of the thigh ammo pack should sit on the upper ridge of the thigh. If you were only test fitting, no worries. Just didn’t want you to accidentally glue and fix it there. ;-) If you wanted to go extra steps, you could consider adjusting the shape a little - roughly as I’ve marked on the picture. This would mean a 90 degree, square cut on the top corner and a slightly wider lower curve. Also, don’t worry if the middle ammo pack (3rd of 5) is in the middle. It doesn’t have to line up with the cover strip. As below, the screen used ones were usually off centre. Keep up the good work. :-)

  6. Before I forget, you can angle the ammo pack up to help with walking (clearing the knee cap). You will still have the "trooper waddle" but your knees will thank you.

  7. From what I can see it looks good. Start on one side, drill the holes and put in the fastener (I used a bolt and nut as temporary), then bend around to mark the other side. Use the billhag diagram for hole locations. For final you will want the split rivet, but for fitting I suggest the bolts and nuts in case you need to move anything when you are doing final fitment.

  8. Thanks Daniel! Trust me, I know! This is one of three costumes she has in the works right now, but it is the only armor. Got the lenses trimmed and installed last night:

  10. After waiting this long I do feel it is a canned response but what does screaming in all caps on online chat help me? I do know some things I have ordered have been quickly delivered. I have seen things I did want to purchase from them but until this is cleared up I can't. I can't order another thing knowing they have thousands of dollars of goods I have yet to receive and I think its a shame as they may have made more sales from me. but going on 3 years leaves a very bad taste in my mouth, Yes I ordered multiple sets. Just some plain honesty and clarity would help their case but I have failed to see it. Afraid to block the "hey we got a new Boba Fett Blaster" in case I miss the your order is ready to ship email. And I can't believe customer service doesn't get updates from the back office as I work for a large company and every customer whether 50 Million in Sales or 15 thousand gets treated with the same respect and gets their concerns answered. These are not question's we are asking them they are concerns.

  11. You'll be amazed how much more you can see just taking out those inner sections of the eyes. Definatley could do with a bit more paint on those teeth

  13. Here's a possible workaround that would be pretty easy. For my build, I added weight to the Drop Boxes my cutting a piece of plywood and gluing it inside. Here's what that looked like: The piece of plywood I used was a bit smaller than the box it's going into in the photo and I didn't care about how it looked, but keep in mind I just put it there for weight and it would be hidden. However, if you were to cut a wooden rectangle that would fit more snuggly than I needed it to, round the corners, sand it nice and smooth, and then paint it white and glue in into place, you'd never be able to tell it wasn't plastic. Just a thought. A.J.

  15. I got he same canned response on the FOTK kits, but was told also that the TLJ helmets are delayed again so hopefully it is true. That being said they gave themselves the rest of the year to get them out........

  16. Thanks for the info! I have used some polish that I had on hand. What do you use when you buff it? I was thinking a microfiber towel by hand? Any better method? Yeah, it's been a while. Just done spending some time in the Bluegrass Garrison's turf. I am glad to be back.

  19. Nice work, definitely a good idea to use double snaps in key areas, shoulder bells are another great area, they do take some abuse and having two snaps has helped me in the past from being able to troop when one let go

  20. TRamp also does full comission installs in an SDS E11. But that comes in at about 500£ plus shipping.

  21. Fieldmarshal makes a amazing aluminum sterling replica that makes it easy to assemble and install electronics. TRamp makes an excellent ready to go electronic system for E-11s but you will have to install it yourself. Worth the money if you can afford them both.

  22. Hey JC, Have you considered converting a Hasbro e-11? It's not that difficult to do. I picked up a used Hasbro on eBay and a Doopydoos e-11 Hasbro resin conversion kit for mine. At the time, I had zero experience with building a blaster. I also picked up a Hyperdyne labs electronics upgrade and swapped out the guts. That was super easy to do (also, I had no electronics experience at the time, either!). The Hyperdyne labs doesn't have a blingy counter like in the video you're referencing, but it does have some really nice haptic feedback on trigger pull and great light/sound. My Hasbro e-11 conversion is always a conversation piece among troopers and kids alike! Pew! Pew! Pew!

  23. So everyone is aware, Jason's design needed a few tweaks to get it patch ready - legible fonts etc. This is the design that will be sent for approval/patches:
