MUCH better, and the thigh placement looks better as well. Should make it easier to move, and will get rid of that "clicking" sound I assume you have when you walk.2 points

You will need to request TK status, here: https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/16-501st-trooper-status-requests-include-link-to-your-501st-profile-in-your-request/ ... then you will be able to create a thread here: https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/forum/19-request-expert-infantryman-status/2 points

Can’t we just go straight to centurion? Wrap it up, it’s perfect. Nice job. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk2 points

Thanks so much, guys!! I hope you've all had a great weekend. I just posted my Pre-Approval Request thread! It'll be a short little wait until I can get my TKID, but then after that I'll be starting towards L2 and L3! I'll be sure to report back here after my first troop next week, too. :-D2 points

So I received my kit and let it sit in the box. Made up an excuse that I wouldn't touch it until my other 2 costumes were approved. Well, that finally happened. Here goes: Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk1 point

I also ordered my boots from Crowprops. They arrived today, so that was more incentive to get started. The smell of leather was beautifully intoxicating! When I ordered them, he suggested going with the EUR size inside my current tennis shoe label. I did, and they fit perfectly. They are a little stiff around my ankles, but I'm sure they'll soften up over time. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk1 point

Wow, such a good build thread, I look very much forward to seeing the finished product. Great work trooper1 point

The printed sight block looks nice and sharp. Well done on the installation. I remember first cutting into the main tube to create the dovetail space, wondering if I had gone too far in trying to capture the look of the real sterling. It’s great to see this is now pretty much standard procedure for the doopy builds. It certainly adds that extra element of realism. Keep up the great work!1 point

Just don't use a Ball branded mason jar as the lid's rubber seal will melt from the acetone fumes, fall into your paste, and give it a nice tinge of orange. lol1 point
-
Thank you for the guidance and information, Joseph. I will probably start this process in the coming weeks.1 point
-
Hint: Cut the ABS scraps into really tiny pieces, and purchase full strength acetone from Lowe's or Home Depot. Add it a little at a time until you get the right consistency (think toothpaste). Also, be sure to do it in a GLASS jar with a lid. When making a large amount, be patient and mix frequently, as it sometimes takes a while for the acetone to dissolve the scraps. Keep the lid on while waiting, or it will solidify quickly.1 point

Looking great! Easy basic pass. As mentioned above, I'd pull the belt up so it's right under the ab buttons. Otherwise, I'm sure there's like some minor tweaks for EIB/Centurion (which you're obviously aiming for- good luck!), but nothing specific is jumping out at me at the moment. Nice job on the interior of your helmet. I like the design and the black (gotta go black on the inside- you can get away with lighter tinted lenses and people still can't see your eyes with camera flashes, etc. Plus it looks cool).1 point

UPDATE! These are now in PDF formats! Also, TLJ Captain Phasma has been updated per the semi-recent update to the CRL. If anyone has any issues with viewing, or notices a mistake, please contact me and let me know! I'm happy to help and want to make sure this is as accurate as possible per the current CRLs.1 point

I dont think so. But Joseph and the staff are really awesome dealing with these. If there is something missing you will know asap. But from what I know, you should be good to go. It's a busy month for the staff, so it may take some time Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk1 point

Nice work mate, as others have said can’t see much that would hold you up for basic, great work. The wait is going to suck, it will give you some time to study EI and centurion requirements, if you get through those have a read of the 501st troopers survival guide. Will be anxiety awaiting your approval news, good luck1 point

Great job, Brendan! Easy pass. I can't lie, waiting for that TK ID is going to be painful. I applied at this exact same time of the year - but I didn't realize the elections would delay the review. I was checking for updates almost hourly for about two weeks.1 point

Looking sharp, Lou! One of us will be with you shortly, brother.1 point

Bad news/good news,, Brendan. The bad news is that you will have to wait a bit... as you may be aware basic approvals are on hold until after the elections. The good news is that you should have no problems getting there, and that TK number will be yours before you know it! As we used to say in the service it's a case of "hurry up and wait". There are a few minor issues to go over if when you get ready to apply for EI and then Centurion but nothing major by any means, and I know you have some mad skills so I have every confidence in you! Great job, sir!1 point

Looks like someone is aiming for the higher approval levels. Belt could be a tad higher (top should almost touch the bottom button on the ab panel) and you may want to rotate your shoulders so the front (vs. back or ideally both) has less black showing between the chest and bells. But really, I see nothing holding you up for basic approval, good luck and see you at Centurion.1 point

Holster time. Copied and pasted from Bud's build: "The holes are 15mm from the bottom edge of the belt, 120mm apart, 20 mm from the ammo belt plastic piece."1 point

One thigh now drying. Other needed a minor repair thanks to me working while tired and I trimmed the wrong side so the ABS paste is setting before a final sand. It's going to be fine. Line 20 snaps are done for the belt. Only had to move one by about 1/8". I think it sits at a good height.1 point

Thank you for the input, Jordan. I have been kicking the idea around to get a set of AM.1 point

One of the most important things to remember is that it needs to fit you. Forearms are always fun. Just make sure it fits and that the cover strips are universal size, and matches all around your armor. For Instance: Front Portion of Armor is 18mm (Forearms and Biceps) The rear is 22mm (Forearms and Biceps) This size should be close to your lower half as well when you get to it. Hope that makes sense. As long as it all looks the same in the front or back. Just be consistent.1 point

To avoid the turn-around time from DoopyDoo's you can also get their full resin kit from me. I always have some in stock (only opened for an inventory check, so I guarantee no missing parts). This would make even more sense, in case you want to use the opportunity and grab a Completion Set, optionally with finished scope rail and/or Hengstler counter. Hm, sounds like an advertisement, but I just wanted you to know your blaster options. And resin is not that bad for trooping, most TKs I know are using resin blasters.1 point
