  2. Looking great! Just a little jealous too. I'm amazed at the differences I'm able to spot between the various armour makers now. This looks like a really good kit...and a great shop to build it in.

  3. Ackbar didn't get the send off he deserved. He should've replaced Holdo and sacrificed himself to save the rebellion in epic fashion. Not just flew out the window, "Oh yeah by the way, Ackbar just died, oh well". Goodbye my Fishy friend

  4. Decals? Thank God. I was starting to wonder if you were actually human. That is funny about the Sandtrooper. I was going to do a Sandtrooper right out of the gates - but I figured I should ease into it. I even built a DLT-19 (way back in early summer) with a sandtrooper in mind - or even HWT. I like the idea of weathering the kit - making it more unique or personnel. Here's to wives who are willing to put up with this nonsense... .

  7. Wow! It's been a long time since I dusted off my armor kit! My wife and I just moved into a new place, so I've been trying to to get the garage and workbench sorted. She's also 9mo pregnant, so making baby preparations has been on the top of our to-do list. I trimmed our the forearms and assembled the cover strips. Next up is the final assembly of the forearms. 8. I can see how people don't like it the first time, I suggest re-watching it. My good garrison-mate Sandeman summed up the below on FB, and his notes below sum up how I feel. Personally I think it's one of the best SW movies done to date. Is it the same "fun" as TFA? No, it's different because it needs to be, and that's not bad. // After 48 hours of digesting the movie, I saw it again today... And it was a different experience. The humor never bothered me, but it seemed more subtle. I picked up on things that I had not missed, but didn't correlate, such as: The dark kelp hole - like the cave on Dagobah, it only contains what one takes with them. Yoda - the entire idea of the movie was in his words. Crait - the clue is in the footprints. To sum up my feelings; my initial assessment was it wasn't what I wanted to see, but after a second viewing, it was the story that needed to be told. It was diffent and didn't play to the expected tropes, and I think that's what bothers most people, but it didn't have to play by my rules. The Force Awakens hit the wickets because it had to. It had to be different from the prequels by being the same as A New Hope (which some call derivitive). The Last Jedi had to be different also, and Rian Johnson took that idea and didn't remake The Empire Strikes Back. He did his own thing, a much more introspective thing. While I still don't agree with some of his choices, I don't have to. I get the message. I've made colossal mistakes while trying to do what I thought was right, and every main character in this movie is a victim of their own hubris. I think it helped that I watched Empire last night and saw the paralles from Luke's time on Dagobah. It's actually a pretty good entry to the saga, even if it's not the movie we've all made in our heads.

  10. Hi all, After recently completing my DoopyDoos E-11, I wanted to get a rubber blaster as a backup, or for events where the Doopy’s just seemed too delicate to take out. Also, as a new recruit, I think a more durable blaster will be good until I find my feet and trooping confidence. So, I started looking around at the options. My main concern with the majority of rubber blasters, (no offence intended to any owners or makers), was/is the seam at the front. However, when ordering my TK gloves from Imperial Warfighters, I saw that they offered a range of blasters. A few messages later and I was informed of their new molds and saw some examples. Thankfully, it looked very good (in terms of rubber blasters) and was a VERY reasonable price. I placed my order and requested an un-weathered unit so I could weather it myself. Today was delivery day and I’m pleased to say that I’m very impressed. Unboxing First viewing Pre-weathering Whilst most parts of this blaster are fine, the underside of the Hengstler was a little worse for wear. Thankfully, it’s not an area that is on display too much. For my subtle weathering, I used the same Humbrol Brass and Humbrol Metallic Silver. I simple sprayed a little paint onto a piece of kitchen towel and dabbed where required. On to a little review of this blaster, I’m happy to rate it highly. Firstly, Ryan (of Imperial Warfighters) is a pleasure to deal with. Very helpful and kept me updated on the progress of his new molds, and then throughout the purchase and build phase. This blaster looks very nice. Of course, it’s a rubber blaster so has a few little rough edges here and there, however nothing that actually puts me off. I might use an exacto blade at some point on the front sight and trigger guard, however if really doesn’t bother me that much (and I’m fussy!!!) The blaster has a lovely weight to it and feels sturdy, however you can feel the flex in certain pieces. Not too much though - it’s certainly not floppy. For the price, (sub £100 inc delivery), I’m very impressed with this blaster. A good investment and a lovely company to deal with. :-) Best wishes, Dan Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  11. It’s always fun around here mate. :-) Hmmm... not sure about the scope rail. It’s ANH - might just look funny in the blurry pic. :-) Went for Imperial Warfighters, Chris. It’s really nice. More details here:

  12. Cheers mate. Yeah, it’s a really nice piece. Bargain too. Might do a little more tidy up at some stage but doesn’t really need a lot. Just went for subtle weathering too - used but not too battered. :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  13. Niiiiice! It's actually quite hard to differentiate the two blasters from the pictures, without a very close look anyway. I was thinking about getting myself a second, rubber blaster too so will definitely consider Ryan's ones Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk

  24. You know when your mind is occupied with something you are really interested in and you can't seem to think of anything else? Well, I start to see what I'm thinking about in the weirdest places and in the strangest objects. A small waste bin I saw on the weekend (in a funeral home) made me think of thigh armour. Hmm, no cover strips.

  25. I have more coming just need them to chime in on here, a lot of the guys I build for don't come onto FISD or don't put in for EIB. I try to build to EIB and Centurion from the get go, some don't want to post and I am fine with that. I started three years ago with my garrison because I wanted more accurate stormtrooper at our events, I never had any desire to post up videos but one of the guys I help got me started and the rest is history. Thank you all for the congrats and I will keep posting up video as long as people come over so I can help them build there kits.

  26. You might need to do the crescent cut for mobility during final fitting. So I'd build as normal and wait. Worse case you don't need cut and can fill in and cover with some abs paste.

  27. I saw TLJ Yesterday Afternoon in 3D. It was a mix bag. It was better than TFA. I did not care for a remake of ESB and ROTJ. A Chase, Ice planet with walkers going to destroy the base. An Apprentice killing his master. A Mining Planet. Here are some things I did not agree with about TLJ. 1. How can bb8's dome stays on when Poe is going full force against the Dreadnought while his dome comes off in an explosion in the Star Destroyer? 2. How can you drop bombs in Space? The Tie Bomber shot them out in ESB. 3. How could Leia survive the explosion and outer space? 4. What Jedi training did Leia receive under Luke? Is she a Jedi? 5. Why Kill off Snooke? Build him up and done, 6. How did Snooke not feel Kylo moving the Light Saber? 7. The 2 Code Breakers which one was the real breaker? 8. What happened to the one that betrayed Rose and Finn? 9. Tracking through Hyperspace? Should that have been explained at the end of Rogue One? How did Darth Vader track The Rebel Blockade Runner to Tattoine? 10. Explaining that Rey's parents were dunks was weak for her parents background? 11. How did Phasama escape? Is her character done? 12. How could Fin survive heading into the cannon at the end? 13. bb-9E? I thought that there would be more scenes with him in it? 14. How are they going to write out Leia in IX? 15. Too many subplots. As someone who has seen the Original Star Wars in 1977, Empire in 1980 and Jedi in 1983, It is very disappointing to wait 34 years to see Star Wars and then to see Han, Luke and Leia not together again and die off! I have said this before. George should have taken a page from Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings, and filmed VII, VIII and IX at one time and did it they way he wanted it as he told Mark Hammell, In Episode IX he hands his lightsaber to someone else. I hope that George releases VII, VIII and IX as novels so that we can see what he wanted. I was hoping that VII, VIII, IX would have been about tying up what happened from Jedi to now. Add some characters then after IX, Go from there.

  29. Whoo hoo!! Thank you so much Andrew. I’ll be very proud of this when I make my trooping debut! Thanks to you and Tony for your hard work and comments. :-) Cheers, Q. Congrats on your new FO armour as well. Looks great! Cheers Jesse. I’m such a muppet and have only just realised I’ve been cleared! I missed the notifications over night (now 8am here) and had no idea. Now, when’s your next blaster update? ;-) Thanks, Mark. I’ll thank you properly now that I know what going on! Lol Thanks again for your input and guidance along the way. You’re doing a sterling job for the UKG. :-) Cheers Brien. I saw your message and thought you’d lost the plot! As above, I didn’t realise I’d been cleared until I saw your message and noticed my thread title had 366 in it! Silly Dan... so, thank you! I’m very chuffed to have joined the ranks! :-)
