  1. Hi! I'm Kit, TK44840 of the Philippine Garrison. Just wanna share photos of my First Order Judicial (FOJ? FOE?) / Executioner Stormtrooper (ETK? TKE? TE?) from the recently concluded Asia Pop ComiCon here in the Philippines...and Force Friday 2 here in Manila, Philippines. It's a Jimmiroquai TLJ FOTK set. Here are the parts we identified that changed: -FOTK bucket TLJ version -black shoulder bells with First Order emblem -back with black yoke -thermal det with solid black extrusion -overlap in inner biceps I say that the work Jim has put into the new TLJ FOTK is pretty spot on. Hoping this would help others who are building this particular character.

  2. Is there anyway to make it so a PM or post shows us who the member is with the real names, like the legion boards do? I get so many messages asking about money and this and that and 99% of the time I have to know a name, not a forum name. IM going crazy having to bounce around and search out a forum post to find out who they are so I can go find out what they have and so on.

  3. When I registered here on FISD back in September 2013 and began posting, I had totally missed to start with the usual introduction thread. Because of that (and my recent basic approval) I felt the need to now follow Tim’s (DarkCMF) call and at least formally introduce myself as a Stormtrooper What started out in pure intention to build a life-size TK display for my home, turned into one of the most interesting adventures in my life so far. After a very time consuming research, I decided to go for the Troopermaster ANH Stunt armor (1.5mm ABS). Like many others here, I used the waiting time to build a blaster. Okay, in my case it was more than just one. Not because the BBB-day took that long, but I got deeper and deeper into that specific topic. This led to other, even more time consuming projects like the Completion Sets for resin blasters and the FISD E-11 Blaster Reference. Somewhere in between all this, the big brown box arrived and “a couple of hours” were spent on this, too. It all kept me busy and the trouble to find a suitable mannequin for the armor caused a long delay. During this time I was encouraged by a lot of friendly people to join a troop. It took a while but I did it and this later changed the game for me. Meanwhile I am officially approved as Stormtrooper of the 501st-Legion and also found a good mannequin. Seems like the armor will either get a busy life between troops and the display, or another armor is needed. Just kidding. The next steps on my list are EIB and Centurion so wish me some luck for that. I would like to thank everybody who ever helped me to get an overview, to find the best options and to do things right. Really thought about naming them here but I simply worry to miss somebody. Many thanks also to the FISD and the people here. Have never before seen an online community with such friendly members, willing to help. Let’s keep that up. Thank you

  9. Sure I can do. Actually you only need to add peripherials you intend to desing in into your blaster. The Stardust board is fully integrated, i.e. all necessary stuff is included you need to: - drive LEDs - drive neopixel strings - drive other peripherials which need a driving stage with transistors (like a buzz motor for example) - drive OLED via I2C So for a standard setup you will need basically: - a Li-Ion/LiPo battery, most commonly used are those of the type 18650 - an 8Ohm/2W speaker (can be up to 3W and also 4Ohm, but you can easier source a 8Ohm/2W and it's pretty much the perfect one) - neopixels (single or stripes) or LEDs (standard or High-Power) for the lights - tactile switches for the trigger and optionally a 2nd switch - optionally an OLED display (I will mainly work on the engine for that in the near future) - any other peripherials you might want to add (buzz motor, etc) There are design hints in the User Manual.

  10. WOW, Tara! That is one fantastic AP build there, and I'm sure this will be an easy pass for your EIB. (It's always nice to see such awesome attention to detail). On the forearm photo, (detail below) is that the wrist opening? If so, I would suggest trimming it down to match the one seen in the second photo below. After your EI approval, I see a Centurion badge under your name as well in the very near future! GREAT JOB!

A: A chocolate chip wookie! Q: How to Ewoks communicate? A: With Ewoki Talkies! Q: Who was the first Mexican Jedi? A: Juan Kenobi. Q: Why did Episodes 4, 5 & 6 come before 1, 2 & 3? A: Because in charge of directing, Yoda was. Thankyou, I'll be here all week!

  15. I definitely will not be one of the first. But I'm happy to be one eventually, that Laser Axe has a presence. I would think the crl wouldn't take too long, considering the differences aren't very drastic. Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk

  18. I know I've not been busy lately but I've managed to finish my magnetic closure system for the greaves.... it's been a long journey and I've taken them apart more times than I've had hot dinners .... but I've got there in the end..... I think These are the internal magnets on the greaves.... I think I may have used too many magnets as they stick together better than a sticky thing that gets stuck .... and I really have to pull them apart .... And stuck together..... Side on .... It seems to have taken ages... but I'm chuffed with the results ... So I'm on the home straight now.... we'll almost..... Just the thighs to complete, strap the torso and arms together, paint and fit the buttons, fit sniper knee plate and thigh ... I've forgot what it's called.... oh thigh ammo belt... I think.... oh and the main ammo belt I have that to do as well.... so I'm getting there..... Slowly slowly catch the monkey .... as they say..... Hopefully I will get there by Christmas..... which year ...... who knows ..... lol..... I originally thought I would be a TK by summer . ........delusional or what ..... 19. To add to some of the great comebacks here are some more: "Aren't you a little short to be a Stormtrooper?" I fought Obi Wan but he had the high ground I was sat on by Jabba the Hutt We can't all be Chewbacca I was stepped on by an AT-AT I'm a distant relative to the Ewoks so...

  21. Cheers, Chris. I appreciate the tips. I had the arms complete as a sleeve yesterday but couldn't reach my left arm across to "snap" my right shoulder bell to the bridge strap. I'm tempted to try the left shoulder bell and bicep connected before putting on the body - then attach the whole right arm as a complete piece (hopefully having flexibility as the left arm is not complete) - then attach the left forearm. Lots of experimenting to do. :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  22. I couldn't do some stuff my self initially but after a few suit ups I am able to do it all on my own now. Not sure if it's a practice thing or just stuff losening up over time. With how you have your arms, leave them whole put them on as a sleeve. I have my top strap glued to the shoulder bell so I have no choice but you don't so experiment which is easier for you.

  23. Damn bud, your boots are beat!!! lol my only critique would be on your black rank stripe on the ear. Make it thinner and even on both sides. Good Luck on your approval...

  24. Yeah, pretty much it's TKBoots and IPB. Funny as you note he mentions plastic. Heck, I remember my Mark Cheng boots - the first I ever owned and they were patent leather. Perfect for a TK at the time and the best money could buy. TKBoots really took off after he left and we banned Elvis/Mariachi boots. One thing for sure in this hobby is that nothing ever lasts forever and the market is always getting more and more accurate and/or lower cost. Anyone remember paying $1200 for a set of FX armor - a kit! - on Ebay and thinking it was OK? Too bad they can't remain as an option.

  25. Being all of 5'7" in armor, I've heard the "short for a trooper" line many times now. My comebacks depend on the troop, really. I've done the following in response to the line: staring silently until they walk away "Shhhh! (then taking them aside, whispering loudly) I'm with the Rebellion, and you're gonna blow my cover!" (said very, very seriously) "The Empire is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate against height." "I was crushed in the trash compactor last week and am still recovering." "But I make Lord Vader look tall. He appreciates that." I'm sure that I'll come up with others the more I troop. I didn't think I'd enjoy being on the short side for trooping, but I've really had fun with it!

  26. That could very well be the best "Aren't you a little short..." comeback I've ever heard!

  27. I'm gonna have to make myself something like this lol. I'm 5'8" and I KNOW I'll be having this short comment being thrown at me lol. This is a great idea!

  28. That's one of my favorites. It's best when it has to marinade for several seconds as they process what they heard... and then the lights go on. As for the, "Aren't you a little short.." comment, I say, "I don't know, I'm taller than Mark Hamill."

  29. Hi mate. Yeah, I'm on the UKG forum and building with guidance and in accordance with the UKG (as I'm from there) but I currently work on deployment with the British Forces in Cyprus. There's nothing 501 based out here so once I'm done I'm going to try and see about starting an outpost here. I'll likely have to stump up flights to the UK and take my suit for a full induction tho. Wish there was something here! Been difficult sometimes relying on the videos and waiting for armourer updates on my posts. A nice armour party with local troopers would have been nice!!
