  1. It won't effect elite at all. Anyone can sit down in armor, just ask anyone who did the Rose Parade. The one thing it does help with is nature calls, take the belt off and the ability to raise the cod a little is a life saver.
  2. Are you talking about attaching the plastic belt front to the belt, or the screws to hold the holster to the belt?
  3. The flood controls are set depending on your access. Put in a request 501st or TK access in the and they will be reduced. Top pinned thread: http://forum.whitearmor.net/index.php?showforum=38 The view new posts will show multiple days, this is the first I've heard of anyone having a problem with it.
  4. If you don't shake up Humbrol paint really well it can come out all sorts of colors.
  5. You can sand Devcon after it completely cures. Generally glues don't stick to themselves very well. This is especially true with CA/superglue.
  6. I just wish that someday they will put the Animaniacs Star Wars special out on DVD, or any format.
  7. I wet sand all the surfaces with 400 grit, and primer the helmet and any places that glue may be showing just in case of a paint interaction.
  8. Looks like FX, at least that's how mine was packed.
  9. I used rivets and glue on the knee plate, and glue on the thigh strip.
  10. There is some great info here: ----------
  11. That is all.....
  12. I don't know of anyone who sells just strips. I'd call your local plastic companies and see if they have any scraps. I've gotten some almost full sheets for 80% off thanks to the scrap bin.
  13. Excellent as always. Can't wait for the next one.
  14. Sorry guys, FISD forum rules prohibit real world politics discussions.
  15. That is Trent from the MWG, but I thought he was using bowling bags.
  16. Here are the helmet bags I use. Unfortunately they were 15.99 but have gone up a little like everything else. ------------
  17. Well if you want a happy medium, get the FX lite kit and an accurate helmet. But honestly your the perfect size for accurate armor. Also please don't post prices on the boards.
  18. From the reference shots I've seen there are 2 versions of the Felucian trooper. They seem to flip flop between TK and clone backplates, shins, and there are several ab plate versions. The only consistency is that they all have clone shoulder bells. Thanks for the reference shots, keep them coming.
  19. That falls outside of the scope of the FISD. Check out this excellent forum for all your armor forming needs: http://www.tk560.com/phpBB2/viewforum.php?...5495c077e8a873b
  20. The narrower gaped side goes over the plastic. If you cut off the thick ridge it will stay on the helmet better. Maybe that us why AP uses the same U channel trim for the neck and brow.
  21. Many of the screen used suits had some material trimmed out of the top of the calf and bottom of the thigh. By all means trim it down a little.
  22. Acetone is semi safe for ABS, but the shine will be gone forever. Try a naphtha based celaner such as the white cans of OOPS! Multi-Purpose Remover.
  23. If you used Devcon plastic welder, superglue, white glue, etc... getting it apart is really easy. Throw them in the freezer for an hour and flex them a little and they will pop apart. If you used ABS plumbing cement you sill have to cut them apart (good luck). Since you need them shorter you have a golden opportunity to make the contour more accurate at the same time. If you do this leave the middle strip length alone and start cutting the contour first. Notice the steep angle on the outside curve, and how deep the inner cut out is. For shimming them so they are bigger at the top and smaller at the bottom. First figure out how much you need to trim off the bottom if you need to. I had to trim about 3 inches off the left just to get them to match. So I cut a wedge taking about 3 inches off the bottom and none at the top. Then add a wedged shim to give you however much you need at the top while keeping the bottom nice and contoured, and reinforce from behind for a stronger hold. I'm working on a tutorial on a better way to shim thighs as we speak. I've been helping a local recruit with this very problem. Hopefully I'll get it up in the next week or two. Good luck.
  24. Under Armor Cold Gear is what I use. I know some people get a thermal wetsuit and install a fly so you can make nature calls.
