  1. I'm proud to announce 501st honorary member Matt Busch is now a stormtrooper, and is the FISD's first honorary elite. Matt and I have been working on this project for several months, and it is finally complete. Way to go Matt .
  2. There are no links to buy vendors armor. If any fan armor is sold openly LFL comes down on them.
  3. Make the front accurate and shim the back. That way you always look god in pics. I'm also going to write a tutorial, when life gives me a break, on how to do really nice thigh shims.
  4. The meatstock is a recast TE helmet from years past. Don't know how durable it is as no one I know has or has had one.
  5. Since nothing is glued down yet I'd recommend the following. Move your shoulder straps forward so more of them are on the chest plate. Move the shoulder bells to where they almost touch the shoulder staps (your thin enough to do it). Trim a little maybe 3/4 inch off the bottom of the shoulder bells. Taper the thighs so they are more form fitting at the bottom. You do this by cutting out a wedge from the back and taking more from the bottom and very little if any from the top. Hope that helps, and take the mods one at a time and take your time. Getting armor to fit properly is alot of tweaking and retweaking, but in the end it'll be more than worth it.
  6. I glued the center, then one side at a time. Just my 2 cents.
  7. Are the lenses flat or bubbled? Overall it looks good.
  8. ----------
  9. Just use the sandpaper on the edge not the surface. I get my Novus 2 from http://www.skygeek.com/. Cheap price and really cheap shipping.
  10. That is what 400 and 800 grit sandpaper is for .
  11. Looks good for a first build. 2 minor tweaks I would try would be to shorten the drop box straps, and take a little off the bottom of the shoulder bells.
  12. It almost looks like a deep scratch over a crack. Can you see it from the inside of the helmet? If it is a crack I'd make a cloth patch bigger than the crack, and superglue it to the inside of the helmet. Is almost as strong as a fiberglass patch without the toxic glass resin.
  13. Just need closeups of the helmet to verify the aerators and lenses. Also for your elite profile pic, I need a shot that is evenly lite, the sun and shadow lines make it impossible to photoshop into a SW background. Good job on the armor trooper.
  14. Here you go: -------------
  15. For the simple questions. Are you 501st yet? and if so please add your TKID to your user profile and request 501st access http://forum.whitearmor.net/index.php?showtopic=16 On to the armor, are you shoulder bells attached to your chest piece or a strap that goes across your shoulders? That will make them sit more correctly. I'd also suggest an elastic strap from the top of the ab plate to the top of the kidney plate to pull them together. Your more than skinny enough to have no gap you just have to get the bugs worked out. Other than that a pic of the cut butt plate below the belt and closeups of your helmet and blaster and your golden.
  16. That's a great looking setup, I love the comlink and grappling hook option. Looks like you have the stock AP aerators on the helmet, which is the only thing that would need to be corrected.
  17. Use one of the tutorials online. The FX manual is garbage (literally). -----
  18. Welcome to the FISD Matt. That's excellent for a first build.
  19. Can't lock checked baggage anymore.
  20. While I don't know much about forming plastic, I do know that anything containing vinyl, even PVC, is very toxic when heated. I'd stick to ABS or HIPS/styrene.
  21. Going through some reference pictures, there appear to be both glossy and flat. Like most things in the SWOT there is no consistency.
  22. I use flat black.
  23. Looks good to me trooper.
  24. Actually most elite troopers are ANH stunt with 4 rivets on their holster. Elite is not designed to be 100% screen accurate. It's goal is to be a higher standard than the Legion requires.
  25. We have an advanced search. It's in the "click for menu" tab up top. But here is the direct link too: http://forum.whitearmor.net/index.php?s=&a...de=adv&f=24
