  1. I think you will find what you are looking for here : -----
  2. The detonator mounts to the belt, not the butt plate. The biceps hang from straps attached to the shoulder bells, or to the shoulder straps and run under the bells.
  3. I don't think anything needs trimming except the forearms and remember the armor is supposed to cover the black. About the only tweak to make is hike the shoulder bells up a little closer to the shoulder straps.
  4. If your goal is 501st membership the Rubies Supreme out of the box is not 501st acceptable. So far no one has tried to get one up to Legion standards. First off the helmet has to be replaced. There are a couple threads around here about the Rubies, but not a mod thread. If your goal is a stormtrooper costume and you are happy with it, we'll offer any help we can along the way. Good luck with the project.
  5. As far as I know the EFX and the MRCE are the same helmet but from 2 different companies. They may be doing their higher end TK helmet first, just like there are the MR helmets on ebay that generally go for 400-600 bucks.
  6. The father of the FISD is the first to hit a huge milestone. Paul has hit the 5000 posts mark. If it weren't for Paul's hard work the detachment and all of us would not be hanging out here today. Thank you sir .
  7. When I have painted frowns, I don't mask them. I just get a small brush and take my time.
  8. Well I'm still up to do a reference DVD, but only one person contacted me with reference material. Having an online reference section is on the staff to-do list since last March, we just haven't had time to get around to it.
  9. Welcome to the FISD Zach.
  10. They don't look as tall as most trooper boots. The on concern is if your shin armor will stay over the tops.
  11. I've also put on heat gear on top of cold gear when I was in Thanksgiving Day parade. I still froze, but I was standing in snow for almost 3 hours, once I got moving it wasn't that bad.
  12. Now we need those great closeup shots of your helmet and blaster. Looks good Nathan.
  13. That's all fine, there is plenty of room for idealized and screen used.
  14. My FX armor and AP helmet are on the hands of a 501st trooper in training. I upgraded (but that is for another thread).
  15. I have 15 on my current helmet. Keep in mind Scott M's 16 decal strip is only a little longer than the 13 strip. So you can fit 15 any place you can fit 12-13 because the stripes are narrower.
  16. Movie helmets varied from 9-16. Most stunt helmets had 13-16 range, and the hero helmets were in the 9-11 range. My AP would only hold 11 per side and no one ever noticed.
  17. I know I'm a couple posts late, but I wanted to congratulate Bernard TK8280 on being the second FISD member to break 3000 posts. Thank you for contributing so much to our corner of the Empire. Keep up the good work trooper.
  18. Assuming Nathan and Lisa get theirs in, we will only need four. Lets get'er done.
  19. The snow was great last year. Unfortunately when we turned the snowblowers off there were some problems, so they will probably stay in storage this year. The melting snow caused the sandtroopers stationed on the deck below us to get all wet. General Veers was pleased to see their armor clean again, but it wasn't worth the months of complaining from the TDs.
  20. Leather is hard enough to get white, but PVC is non porous and could be much harder. You'll have to paint them instead of dyeing them, and the challenge will be getting a paint that will bond to the PVC and still flex when you walk in them. I'd try a bumper paint first from an auto supply store. Good luck.
  21. I can't answer all your questions, but I'll answer the ones I know. 1. ----- Great company to deal with. 3. The trim that comes with the AP helmet is fine as is. Also consider upgrading the mic tips/aerators that come with the AP helmet.
  22. Good looking set of armor trooper, it should be an easy pass. Just have to wait for Scott to give the all clear.
  23. You quoted a post over a year old. Back then that was correct. Also I think the first 5 of any costume have to be LMO approved. But now we are getting way off topic.
  24. I believe it's U channel aluminum. No idea where to track it down though.
  25. If they have your size, these aren't bad: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...em=180311440763
