Have you considered a resin blaster instead? I get the sense of security with a rubber blaster but to be honest I haven't heard as many stories of damaged blasters as you would imagine. I have trooped my resin Doopy blaster for 6 years and only had to do very minor patch jobs on paint chips. I think 3D printed blasters are far more prone to easy damage than the resin variants and you should hopefully be able to find a vendor if Doopy don't have stock. RS Prop do rubber blasters, perhaps contact them and see if they make one suitable, I have only seen their ESB variant.

I think it is important to note that ABS indeed can have slight changes from batch to batch and manufacturer to manufacturer. This is why we see difference in colour even from the same armour maker, when they buy a new batch of plastic, or need to source another supplier for what ever the reason may be. I have seen an Anovos crack due to thinness on the members very first troop, but that doesn't mean every Anovos will crack in the same way. Also some may troop outdoors more frequently than others and UV has an effect on all plastic, yep even the so called UV protected plastics can still discolour unevenly in areas, so there really are too many factors and possibilities to nail any one maker unless there was a solid consistency across more than one batch of plastic. It is great to hear stories, both good and bad on how armour has stood the test of time and rigors of trooping. Also great to see an old thread like this one resurrected.

Welcome to FISD Jason! We have several very detailed ROTK build threads which I highly recommend you take a look at, also if you haven't already check out our getting started section. You are going to love this place and its very helpful members, but know it's time for you to continue your research, ask loads of questions and start your journey to become a TK of the 501st legion. Good luck on your journey sir. https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/forum/38-getting-started-read-this-first/ https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/forum/162-rogue-one/ https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/forum/196-rogue-one-build-threads/

Sly11 replied to Troopergirl97's topic in Getting Started - Read this First!
Welcome to FISD Felicity!! Glen has shared some great resources there to get you underway. The most important aspect of this hobby is research and we have plenty of threads laden with rich information and images to help you on this journey. It can be overwhelming but we have plenty of troopers on hand to answer all your questions and offer great advice if you get lost. Once again, welcome aboard. -

Themaninthesuitcase SE-44C build

That is hilarious, made me laugh out aloud Glad to see you back on the band wagon with your builds. -
Welcome back Brit, helmet looks good and happy to see you are moving forward again. The shape of the helmet looks skewed and I'm guessing because it was taken on a phone. The key to getting a better photo is to zoom in x 2 then take the photo so the phone lens doesn't distort your photos. You will find the proportions look much better

Kia Ora Georgia! Excellent that you are on a good path to the dark side and a nice set of armour too. Glad you have not considered the local TK armour available in NZ as it is far from accurate, Your garrison commanding officer and I have spoken about that a few times. I chat with him on Zoom every couple of weeks. You are going to love the 501st and the awesome bunch of troopers in Outpost42, i also think you will love it here in FISD, lots to see and do. Welcome abaord.

I do the same as Glen, and keep the icomm and Aker in the chest. I do have the hearing assist in my helmet but seldom use it.

Question about fan noise and speed
Sly11 replied to Shinyarmour1's topic in Electronics for Helmets / Blasters
Hey Marc, you should create a sales thread in our Ongoing sales forum, rather than advertising in this thread. It is part of our forum sales rules and the reason we have a home for ongoing runs just like yours. You can have a permanent home there as long as you check in and bump the thread every few months so auto archive doesn't move it. (only required if there is no activity in your thread) Makes far more sense than having it get lost in a separate threads all over the place and helps us keep the forums a little tidier. You can then also put a link to your thread in a post which is allowed. https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/forum/16-ongoing-sales-project-runs/ -
Welcome Kelvin, great photos by the way.

Haven't found one in a Myer store in Brisbane yet, looks like they are $199.00 Australian though. -
Is now a good time to start a build?
Sly11 replied to TK Monkus's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
Check the list of our approved vendors for the details of what is available. AM is definitely a thicker armour if you are after durability, but any of the makers supply a decent product all at varying prices. Who to avoid -
Just an FYI, the image Chris has shared is the composite view, every part is broken down into the correct pieces so you can print and assemble the same as you would a vac formed kit. Chris has printed and pulled the helmet as can be seen in the images a few posts above so we have a better idea of how it can look in ABS.

Happy New Year Troopers. 2020 was a challenging year for everyone, and I would like to thank you all for being here on FISD and supporting this wonderful community. 2021 hopefully gets better and better as the days go by and we can all see something that resembles a more normal life again. Stay well, stay safe, look after your family and keep paying it forward where you can

Black Series Captain Cardinal FO Helmet Discussion
Sly11 replied to Ericnathan811's topic in Off Topic
This looks more accurate than the Anovos TLJ helmet. The Jib and beak shape on this looks much closer to screen because Anovos simply changed the beak and added the teeth to their TFA helmet shape. -
Welcome to FISD James, I see our troopers have set you on the right path, good luck with your journey.

OT TK armour needs some flex to deal with the rigors of trooping. I have not yet seen an OT armour 3D printed and trooped in nor approved. Those that are modeling the armour would simply use the printed components to start bucks for pulling in ABS. The difficult prospect of 3D modelling and printing armour that was sculpted and organically created will be the biggest challenge to get it to look similar to the rest of the vac formed armour currently available. Good luck on your journey and welcome to FISD.

TK-36544 Requesting TFA Captain Phasma EIB status (KB)
Sly11 replied to Surgtech's topic in Request Expert Infantry Status
Hi Kaden, The Phasma CRL's need a lot of work and we rely on our resident experts to help with this process. This year has been very tough on some of those, so unfortunately the project has not been able to move forward as far as we would have hoped. These CRL's are long overdue and will take time to make them just right, I know members dont want it rushed this time around as it was originally, and yes we want to have a good EI and Centurion level fleshed out as these costumes so rightly deserve.
