  1. Guys - this is a HUGE WIN. Not many dets (if any) can say they are 100% complete. Where's the fanfare? The rockets red glare? Alderaan bursting in mid-space?
  2. Agreed. A long slog, but what you'll remember is that you got there, and are accepted to the ranks.
  3. Can be either.
  4. Thank *you* for being inspiring to others
  5. Yup. FYI that it's not considered polite etiquette to discuss armor pricing on the open board, e.g. that is up to the vendors to discuss if they so chose, but not for us to reveal. And yeah, TM is the shiz if you can get it.
  6. This is for TK's only. You can go Deployed and SWAT on MEPD though...they are the equivalent of EI and Centurion respectively.
  7. I would say that most new folks go EI out the gate, but maybe are missing one detail. The real push will be getting 350 existing members to spend the ~$50 and an afternoon to take the plunge.
  8. They are usually runs 2-3 times a year. At least that's how I did it. Darth Aloha has that program now.
  9. This is from a response in a different thread, but I thought it relevant enough that I'm posting this to the Announcements area as a call to arms. The question was "Is there any Centurion specific merch". My answer... No, there is no centurion specific merch. The point of the coins was to get more people EI. There are 2526 TK's in the 501st. There are 352 EI's for 14% of the Legion TK's. There are 110 Centurions, or 4.4% of the Legion TK's, or nearly 1/3 of all EI. Our goal is to get to at least 33% of the Legion to EI, or to about 842 EI. In other words, getting EI to go Centurion is not the problem. Getting base TK's to go EI is, hence the coin for EI, as this is the metric/behaviour we're trying to change. So our push for 2014 should be to double the EI's from 350 to 700. I mean if every EI got just one other person to go EI, that would be a huge accomplishment for the Legion, especially now that LFL is starting to judge applicants for some Legion events. Glory, honor, empire, blah blah blah. In the end it's about pride in our costume. The "backbone of the Empire" should be the best looking costumes in the Legion, no?
  10. Welcome to FISD! I'm not sure how creating a 3D model and printing it (or making a master) is in the end different from sculpting from scratch, when it comes to acceptability.
  11. Congrats on the purchase - am looking forward to seeing pix of the build.
  12. Cool build thread - it's neat to watch your journey. Thanks for sharing & the pix
  13. Well, they are now having a second type of event where you have to have LFL approval to troop. Sounds like they are formalizing what LFL did occasionally. Wonder how far it will go in the next 5 years.
  14. Agreed - much could change between now and then. Also, while these details may be needed for Centurion, they'd be fine for regular and EI levels, I'm sure. I troop with a de-activated airsoft, and actually like the weight.
  15. What Derek said. You can certainly call it whitearmor, however you cannot use FISD, 1st Imperial Stormtrooper Detachment or any other 501st branding in any way, shape, or form. You can't even say it's a place for 501st folk at all either. If there is any confusion, you can always loop in the LMBO & LPRO for clarity, as only they can say whether or not they want some disclaimer on your site. EDIT: It's also a good chance to remind people about forum rules. We're all adults here, so let's please keep things civil.
  16. Doh! And I'd give a big thumbs up for KWDesigns. He's one of the highest quality, highest integrity people in the Legion.
  17. Hmmm...will be interesting to see how this all comes together.
  18. Congrats Gaz - couldn't have happened to a nicer fellow.
  19. You deserve every kudo Todd. We are simply recognizing the accomplishment.
  20. Will be great to see updated photos. Germain's advice was spot on and it's looking really good. Almost there...
  21. Pretty amazing Todd. You are right on both counts - no one has ever tried to do what you're doing, and both would be unique events for the Legion & FISD. Wish you the best!!!
  22. ROTJ troopers are rare, and I think there only was one other person who got a Rubies 501st acceptable. Todd has really come through and has a singular talent for taking something b-grade and making it a-grade. I agree with Steffan - go for EIB!!!
  23. The most comfortable boots I ever wore were the Cheng boots that were available back in the day. Did 5 miles at the Rose Parade in them with zero issues. Ahhh...the good old days!
