  1. Looks pretty spot on to me when I compare it to the renders. Well done
  2. I don't have the originals, but I can take photos of the calendar itself. I too would like to get copies of the photos - personally I think it was our best merch produced ever, and it would be great to do another one, even if we use the same images.
  3. Then I'd not sweat it. Over the years mine has faded differently such that the pants are slightly lighter than the top. As you note - from a few feet away you can't tell.
  4. can you notice from more than 5 feet away?
  5. Great work so far. You guys are going to ROCK the house
  6. Hey Troy - there is still life in that FX suit. As long as it's not yellowed, you can easily make it EI for about $50 and a weekend of work. Put on an AP helmet and call it good is your best budget way to go, IMHO. Anything turn-key is probably a bad idea. There are several people who will build to your measurements ATA, AP, TM, etc. armor if you have more money than skillz/time.
  7. For those that are curious... ** ***************** FX Helmet % Legion-Wide August 2010: 27% of respondents March 2014: 15% of respondents FISD August 2010: 9% of respondents March 2014: 5% of respondents MEPD August 2010: 2% of respondents March 2014: 0% of respondents ** ***************** FX Armor % Legion-Wide August 2010: 47% of respondents March 2014: 34% of respondents FISD August 2010: 24% of respondents March 2014: 12% of respondents MEPD August 2010: 36% of respondents March 2014: 13% of respondents Conclusions: 1. In the past 4 years, % sporting FX helmets has fallen in half across all boards. 2. % sporting FX armor ha also fallen significantly in the detachments, but also across the Legion 2. For all people claim FISD is elitist, FX percentages on MEPD are even smaller than FISD. 3. FX armor is worn at most by 34% of Legion respondents, and can no longer be called the backbone of the Legion by any stretch of the imagination. 4. FX helmets are used even less. Zero on MEPD, and at most 15% in the Legion. I think it's fair to say that the FX helmet is dead, but the armor still has some life left in it.
  8. At some point though, it's conceivable that some or much of this information will make it to the CRL. Each passing year the "state of the art" for the 501st requirements get bumped, so things like strapping could eventually end up there.
  9. OMG! You did it, you did it! These are incredible. I think you may have earned another award with these
  10. We've also said repeatedly that post count is not equatable with quality. This is why we created the FISD Achievement awards. Some people get high post counts simply by making a lot of "cool bro!" replies, but if you look at the AAM winners not all have big post counts. They earn that from making singular contributions to the board. An example is nothingrecorded and forlornhope who did much to nail down the TKC paint details when the costume was new, confusing, and we didn't have a clear path forward for people to do this costume correctly. TKDueno doesn't have a lot of posts either, but did some ground breaking work on blaster sound boards. Hope that helps...
  11. Outstanding newsletter - what a great way to start the year!
  12. Gorgeous! IMHO I find the TM still to be the prettiest. His really are the bees knees.
  13. True to everything Mark said. You have to be an active 501st member with an active TK costume in the Legion database to be a detachment member - this is spelled out in the charter. And, only detachment members can be attache's. It should be easy enough to get back on active status - simply do a troop. There is always something going on nearly every week. Once you're back on active status, it will be a trivial matter to have you back as an attache.
  14. OT... I'm with Paul It's not often men say they're looking forward to be teased by a woman. You should feel highly complimented.
  15. Cheers to Billy & Paul - two of the nicest members on this board.
  16. You truly are the Queen. I can't wait to order a few pair myself. These are sweet.
  17. You could also sculpt your own. There was a guy about your size who did that - his nickname was TK BIG. This is the only link I can find: http://www.studiocreations.com/howto/talesfromthetrenches/tk837_stormtrooper.html
  18. Open mouth, do it, do it, do it!!!
  19. A great start - we'll take a keen interest in your career
  20. In my garrison we tend to stay in character at events. There is some goofing around, but acting a fool makes everyone look bad. In the end it's your personal decision and the desires of the event coordinator.
  21. Zip ftw. Mine is sewn into my shirt, actually. Sent from my RM-820_nam_att_100 using Tapatalk
  22. Go Todd!! This will be EI #6. A new world record.
  23. Oh wait, I did say this stuff 6+ years ago Invoke: time machine... http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/380-the-stormtrooper-effect/
  24. Fascinating. And a new piece of information now sees the light
  25. The reason for FX breakout is because that is what people are trying to defend in standards, so we want that broken out.
