  1. Wow - you must be tiny! It's clear a lot of love and sweat went in to making this suit look so good.
  2. Well, I could be wrong. To be honest it's been a long while since I've looked at the board configuration...
  3. We turned that off too, as in the past when there were some...interesting...conversations, people would flame someone and edit their posts, or worse delete their posts out of spite. Thus people could be jerks, then remove the evidence and claim innocence. Or, maybe they got in a tiff in their local garrison and then started deleting all their helpful build threads. It's happened...
  4. I'm just amazed people will pay $11.50 for something they can get for a $.50 stamp and an email.
  5. As a former Hero TK, I'm very keen to see how this goes too
  6. Would you know which ones? I have the DVD set and they have what they call original theatrical release, but the opening says Episode IV, e.g. they are the same as the LaserDisc editions.
  7. I'd suggest simply creating a Fire Team then - it's what they are designed for and require no changes / irregularities to the charter.
  8. Yes it would. You can always get your EI, then cut them out. EI/Centurion are recognition programs/awards, but there is nothing saying you have to keep your costume that way once achieved.
  9. Alas, I've never had a speaker system in the nearly 10 years I've been trooping. I don't like wires running down my neck, so what I really want is to have everything 100% self-contained. The downside is at one point I had 2 - count 'em 2 - RomFx systems ready to go, but 3 houses in 5 years and they've been lost. At some point, it will happen...but until then I don't speak much.
  10. Wow, excellent advice. You truly are TrooperMaster - thanks for sharing.
  11. If you're not geographic based, how would you coordinate events? You'll either be in some garrison's/outpost's territory, most likely. Or do you mean trooping in places like Iraq/Afghanistan where there is no long term imperial presence?
  12. Yup. Why give money to a bad person?
  13. And, chances are, aside from kids and adult Star Wars geeks, few will even watch this show. EP7 OTOH...that's where all the fan attention will be, so speculating on replicating an animated, stylized costume is probably not worth much until it actually airs, and someone tries to do it.
  14. I'm 100% with Mathias. AP looks really good, but if you are truly looking at the details, I'd go with ATA. You can see this for instance on the forearms, where ATA has square dimples (correct) and AP has rounded ones.
  15. Sniff, sniff. Seems just yesterday you were shiney and new to FISD. We've been blessed to have you these past 5 years.
  16. It depends on your head and helmet. I have a garrison mate who was able to fix RomFX, batteries, speakers, and fans in his lid, but he has a smaller nose than I do.
  17. And the tusks are oversized, and...and...well, we could go on, but the horse is dead.
  18. I'd finish what you have and troop the piss out of it. Gives you time to save up for something much nicer.
  19. Well, more accurately there were a few recasters, the person behind AM/FX was the most successful one.
  20. Last time we did a poll, most people paid about $1200. Maybe we should do a new one to get more data? Also, if people want a de-activated Sterling for their E-11, that can go higher than $280. Plus, some people pay to have their armor built - not sure if you want to include that? Lastly, maybe we should also poll for how much time it takes to put together a suit, start to finish? I say that in that it can be great to set expectations. For instance, Kevin W. once calculated that most clones took 108 hours to build on average.
  21. I wonder how it will really pan out. Even on the VHS/LaserDisc the sound was 2 channel. Derrek - how did you get the DVD's then? LaserDisk VOB's? IIRC the original version was never in DVD. Also, it's not the original anyway - it says A New Hope on the LaserDisk & VHS. In 1977 it just said Star Wars - no Episode IV at all.
  22. IIRC we turned off topic title editing for all but staff...
  23. Pix? I'm curious to see how it came out. I've seen it only twice in person - once was perfect (couldn't tell more than 1' away), the other not so much (bad cut lines).
  24. Wow - that new armor so rocks!!
