  1. No worries Mark, we've all been there. Heck, back in the old day replacing the helmet was normal, and they are much cheaper now than they used to be.
  2. Will be good to see you there, Brian.
  3. Yes, that is me on the left. Well, OK, once I get a nice Hero helmet.
  4. Jesse used to make great ones too in runs, but I think he's out of the game. They are not overly hard to do yourself. The tricky part is the clips, if you want to get uber accurate. In the past people just used banker's clips.
  5. I agree with Steve - have you talked to Mike about it? That seems unusual. Unless his quality is slipping, but that would seem strange too.
  6. You can also try blutak too. I've never had this problem thankfully. Superglue impregnated t-shirt I have seen in other areas and seems to hold up, though some swear more by E6000.
  7. With any luck *every* day will be a meet & greet over drinks for FISD staff
  8. Well, some never know about the 501st at all, how else would they know?
  9. Great! Nice to see new blood on staff
  10. I worked on OH-58's (Bell Jet Rangers) for 7 years and we did indeed call it the Jesus Nut. Man, some great stories on here - reaffirms my love for you all
  11. Why not both? Have one helmet that's your best prop replication, and the second is for you to have fun with.
  12. The nice thing about sci-fire is you can drop them on concrete and not cry like a baby when it shatters (e.g. resin). $350 is great - heck back in the deal they cost much more. They've done a good job of keeping prices down.
  13. I think it can be what you are used to. I used to think a de-ac Sterling would be too heavy, but it seems normal now. I used to carry an M-60 back in my Army days, and that was 21 lbs. The M249 was about 14 lbs and very manageable. The MG-34 is about 26 lbs. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MG_34 I mean, 21 lbs was pretty darn heavy. 26 lbs is a lot - figure it's like carrying 3 M-16's plus some ammo. I guess it could be cool for a bit, but man you'll need to do some P90x
  14. Daetrin is from "The Madness Season", by C.S. Friedman. One of my all time favorite books, and Daetrin is my favorite character.
  15. See ya there!
  16. Ah, Smitty. Alas, what a good bloke. Yeah, the search can be hard - it should be a sticky unless someone moved it? Ah, I see. Someone moved the TIPS & HOWTO's to a sub-forum at http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/forum/79-tips-and-howtos/ Maybe the mods will put it back as a top level to make it easier to find? It's in such a state of disrepair. So sad, all that hard work...and it's been left to rot since 2011...
  17. Well, it's a lot easier now. In the past we had to cut open our FX ab plates and make our own little keyhole cutout. Now, most TK ab plates come that way out of the box. The diamond knee plate used to also be a "make" item, but now I think you can buy one too. The rest is all take-aways, e.g. remove the drop boxes, O2 cylinder, and shoulder bridges. Ensure you have a stunt helmet (which is easier now, as nearly all TK helmets come stunt. Back in FX days, you and to drill out that extra tooth on each side and get different helmet decals) with no lines in tears/traps. Weathering can be easy if you go Braks Buddy method (e.g. using tempura paint). I think if I had to re-do a kit today, it's maybe 2 hours of work, max, and no drilling!
  18. Truth!
  19. I think most ladies just put it down their under armor tops? Well, I did see one lady trooper with a pony tail, but that was at a con...
  20. Yaaaay. Couldn't happen to a better man.
  21. True, an HWT is essentially an ANH Stunt TK with accessories.
  22. You may be starting a trend...
  23. Wow - you look great! Well done Tony
