I just would like to see that it is absolutely necessary for you to shim the sides. Have you had someone really squeeze the kidney and ab together? If you do that and the sides touch but the torso seems a little snug so be it! You become more "one" with your armor if it's snug. Use webbing instead of elastic on your connection points on the sides to keep it from seperating

Centurion specifics needed. HWT specifics also needed
gazmosis replied to ukswrath's topic in Assembly, Mods, and Painting
What Tony is talking about is the hardware to attach the holster to the belt. He would like it if he could use the same belt for both Stunt and HWT so he is making the holster remove able. There is no requirement for the kind of attachment hardware you should use to attach the holster to the belt. As I see it, you have two options; either use chicago screws, or since every snap has a hole in the center, you could rivet the snap to the belt. If you do that, don't squeeze the rivet too hard. Depending on what brand of snap you use, popping the rivet all the way down might warp the snap. Just pull hard enough to set it. Whatever method you choose, just make sure you paint the outside white so it blends in against the belt better. As for the backpack. Make sure you have all the proper components just don't make it dirty. A little scuffing and weathering is fine. -
This build is something for the records! The metalwork on the pistol grip is unreal. So is everything else. Anyway, I am sorry you are having issues with the magazine and housing. Keep in mind that the magazine is a direct cast of a Sterling mag. The doopydoos mag housing has thicker walls than the real weapon. Although you nay believe it will be very fragile, you can still take some off the thickness of the walls. Take out only what you need for the mag to fit in its proper place. You can trim the mag down a bit, too. Once inserted, the magazine will reinforce the housing walls.

Belt to AB plate snap placement

Center your plastic waist belt on your ab. The snap placement will be under the last belt box on each side -

Hmmm........have you ever thought about a Vader???

It doesn't surprise me that you have some part overlap and have some other parts sitting really close together. According to your height, you are about 4-5 inches shorter than the original armor was built for. Which is why it doesn't surprise me. I have never heard of RS building suits to match specific heights. Body and arm diameters are another thing. If you are 140 lbs, I would suspect that you are very thin. But remember that the armor can only be made so small. You are also about 30 lbs lighter than the original suit was made for. The last time I was told, RS still uses A superglue type adhesive for their assembly. If your suit is just to uncomfortable, I would talk it over with them.

Can you post pics of your sides with your arms raised? Also, what is your height?

ATA helmet has arrived and Im.....

We won't tell her!!! -
Welcome aboard official trooper!! Definitely hit those side rivets and thigh pack rivets with paint. Leave all other hardware unpainted.

6-8 inches of shim, really? This concerns me because TM armor is not a one size fits all armor. This armor was carefully sculpted to mimic the original suits which actors AROUND 5' 10" and 170 Lbs. wore. The weight number cannot be taken literally because everyone carries their weight differently. But the measuring tape doesn't lie. TM fits a max body circumference of 36 inches around the belly button. Anything beyond will be very tight or require shimming. But it's not just about the main torso, if you carry weight in your legs and have large thighs or calves, a set of armor for larger troopers like RT Mod might work better for you. If you do pull the trigger on TM, just make sure you get the extra plastic for the shims from him.

DVH Pipe Build with Extras

Yes they are upside down. It was an honor to help out, sir. Best of luck to you but you have done some serious homework so I am certain it won't be needed -
Having some shin trouble. What do I do?
gazmosis replied to cm325i's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
What exactly is your trouble? The only thing I see is the return edge on the very bottom needs to be removed. -
Nice job on the assembly so far. The ears on your helmet are really thick still. You have a lot more that can be taken down.

It's darn nice looking armor!

Truthfully, I wouldn't really worry about either one. The absolute last thing you want to do is bring a heat gun near your helmet. That is just too large of a correction to try to make. Plus it's on the underside of the helmet towards the back. As long as the front is in good shape troop on!

Awesome so far! I love the new and improved MTK kidney

What to do in the meantime
gazmosis replied to Stevetheemu's topic in Getting Started - Read this First!
Start researching your build procedures. Decide how you are going trim your parts, what you will use as an adhesive, get clamps and magnets to keep things in place, oh and did I mention research? We can offer only so much advice. You are the one that will need to glue the parts together. You will need a holster as well. Hit up TK Bondservnt (Vern) or Darman (Bobby) for that. Both have great holsters and great customer service -
Exceptional!

It doesn't, though. When Leia gets shot at the bunker( and Han TOTALLY feels her up) ,Han raises his hands with blood all over them.

Beautiful addition
