Hi Jonatan, and THANKS for your submission for ANH Stunt EI! CRL and EIB Application Requirements: All required photos have been submitted, and on behalf of the entire D.O. staff we are pleased to welcome you to the rank of Expert Infantry. Congratulations! Other-Armor Fit/Assembly; In this area we review observations made by your fellow troopers and the DO team. Some observations may lead to suggestions to improve the overall look of your armor, and please keep in mind that we consider both text (CRL) and pictures (screen caps/reference images) when reviewing submissions. First of all, I want to congratulate you for the excellent work done to improve your armor. I know how much work goes into those shims to make them perfect. So, congratulations Trooper.. Here are a few recommendations to improve your armor: -The screws on the ears should ideally align with the rear angle of the trap above them, and the bottom should angle back a little bit more. The right ear could be improved a little. The left ear is almost perfect!!! Reference images -Troopers who are tall have this "problem" with their forearms. Your biceps are perfectly positioned, and cannot be lowered more. However, you can try to lower your forearms a little more so they are a little closer to the handguards, and thus, you will avoid the "long arms effect" a little bit. Reference images -Just a dressing issue. There shouldn't be an excessive bunching here. Maybe you can overlap the pants and it won't look so wrinkled. Reference image -Another dressing issue. Always check that the armor is perfectly aligned and symmetrical on both sides (you can always ask someone to take a look before trooping). Reference images Centurion Requirements: In this section we prepare you for our highest tier of approval. Because Centurion photos must show more detail than EIB, items pertaining to Level 3 might be seen there and not here and additional photos may be required. We try to point out all that we can from what we are able to clearly see, but the final accuracy is the responsibility of the trooper. -L3. The plastic shoulder straps need to be held down in the back via a white elastic band to the white fabric that connects/bridges the chest and back piece. Although it is a little difficult to see it in the photos you have added, it seems that the white elastics are there... In your Centurion application(wink, wink), you can add photos where we can see them more clearly... Reference images -You have done an outstanding job with the belt. As we have seen that you like to take care of the details to the maximum, you could trim this part so it doesn't look so rounded. Reference images -The plate of your TD needs to be rotated a little. The ribbed area should be more towards the bottom, with the O-ring at or near the top. Reference images -You appear to have a slight overlap between the ab and kidney (right side). Ideally, they should meet but not overlap. Reference images -Regarding the return edge on the right side of the ab plate.... The originals had little to no return edge, which allowed them to sit more flush with the kidney. Yours sticks out so far that it casts a large shadow. We think you should trim that down, which will also help you with that overlapping problem. Reference images -The angle on your sniper knee plate should be a little sharper (don't make the corner a sharp one). Reference images That' s all Jonatan. As you can see, Centurion is at your fingertips... Again, thank you for taking the time to improve the look of your armor. Congratulations!!! Don't forget to request your Certificate HERE...2 points

Ari, Thanks for reaching out. I've been away from home for a while, so I didn't see your post initially and apologize for the slow response. I'll continue to update my work and I hope the thread helps you out during your build. I reached out to the designer and asked if he minds me sharing his info, but I haven't heard back yet. If he gives me permission, I'll share their info. However, the files Glen posted have been used by quite a few people and I've worked with the designer previously; he's very helpful. @Cricket put up a great build thread when she used these files for her son. You can find it here: Regardless, I have a few updates I'll be making later this week and will post them here. For now, here's a picture I haven't posted yet. I finally got everything smooth on the main helmet and have since coated it with another layer of filler primer. This pic was from the first time I did a test fit using screws instead of loosely setting the pieces in place. So far so good. What's good to look at though is the differences between the initial primer layer I posted on August 3rd and this one. Plus, it looks even better now. 3D printing is fun option for doing these, but it's a ton of work. Please keep in mind though, that with these type of builds, 3D printing is the hobby not costuming. I've covered it previously in other build threads, but if you're looking for a costume to jump in, there's other options available that'll save you a lot of time, heartache, and in some cases money. I only say that to give you a head's up, not to discourage you, primarily because Halloween is very close. For a 3D TK, you might want to set some extra time aside. Typically, it takes me around 3 months at the quickest to assemble a full 3D costume and that doesn't account for the lead time on soft parts and assembly. Regardless, I will gladly jump in anytime to help you out if you have any questions and now that I'm back in town, I'll start updating my threads again. Thanks for the interest2 points

Hey troopers, If you’re new to trooping, or just fancy a look, this video might be right up your street. In this video, I run through how to put on a complete stormtrooper suit, along with tips and tricks along the way. For those aiming for accurate armour, this could be a good resource. The suit of armour I’m using in this video is a combination of super screen accurate as well as troopable. I hope you enjoy the video and find it educational. If you have any questions, please comment below or in the YouTube comments. Best wishes Dan1 point

As already noted the SDS kits do need some work for basic approval, there are other kits out there which need less work Here's a couple of threads with builds and modifications of the SDS This also has some great info For all your other Stormtrooper needs and info check out this thread Good luck with the research1 point

Welcome to Expert Infantry Jonatan!!! Looking good! And looking like you might be one afternoon's work away from Centurion?1 point

Welcome to FISD Jake! Without putting them on blast, you might research SDS suits and the issues required to get it approvable. Do some searches with the forum search function. It's much more work than other suits, even after you have a fully built one in hand. You mention not having a lot of time... and that suit will require a lot of it. Search for Shepperton. I know there's at least one current build by Oldracer. And though I'm not 100% sure on this, I think it's very hard to get in the US as I don't think they ship directly here. You might need a middle man in another country to send it your way. There's a number of makers who will do you up a kit to your measurements. Hit the thread Mario linked above and see what there is to see. Off the top of my head, I know AP and RS Propmasters do custom builds. However, like every suit, it will still require some work on your end for final fitment and approval.1 point

Congratulations Gerald!!! And well done on persisting and getting over the fitment issues for approval. Lesser troops would have washed out. Wishing you huge smiles under your bucket.1 point

Hi Christine, and sorry for delaying. Life turns a bit crazy from time to time. We are a few steps to grant your Centurion Badge, but as you may know, Centurion is the top level of accuracy and we check the applicants a bit more detailed and consider not only the Crl but the screen reference images. Bellow are some fixes we need you to do that are Centurion level requirements . CRL for Basic: Frown is painted gray and does not leave the teeth area. This is a common issue that can be easily fixed. Carefully using a toothpick with some paint disolver (non acetone) or sharp tool like a cutter or knife point. Reference Images CRL L3: Ear screws shall be slotted, flat topped, countersunk and painted white. The ears top screws are perfect but the lower ones need to be changed to the flat topped requested in the crl. Reference Images CRL L2: Correct Aerators/Hovi-MIX tips are present. Screens used shall be of a wide type mesh, with the rim of the mic and the inside white or painted white. This is an easy fix with a few minutes of painting session. Reference Image Your small ab plate looks like having a return edge that it's not present in the screen used references. A little trimming time will be needed to solve it. Reference Images CRL L3: No return edge on the inside of the front of the forearm is allowed. There is a remaining little return edge. Just a little sanding job, easy and quick fix. Reference Images CRL L3: Canvas belt must be firm / sturdy in appearance. No creasing or sagging There are some creases that are quite prominent, a possible solution could be to tighten the canvas a bit and if that doesn't work a replacement will be needed. In my experience with Anovos canvas belts, I had to carefully remove the ABS belt because the square covers are glued on tightly (if the belt got damaged, I would fix it with an ABS piece behind it) and install a new one. I consider this one the toughest issue but we are confident that you can do it Trooper. We are here to help you if you need. CRL L2: Sniper knee plate must be aligned with the ridges on the shin. You did a great advance with the first fix requested in your EIB submission, but sadly, the sniper knee is still a bit lower (red lines) and should go aligned with the shin (blue lines). To fix that, It would be necessary to take it off and re-glue it higher to match the ridges correctly. Remember you can contact any of us in the DO Dpt. for assistance.1 point

I found spade drill bits to be very good for this kind of work, because you have more control while drilling.1 point

If its for pre approval I would post your photos into that area https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/forum/193-request-tk-pre-approval/ If it's photos for updating your costume you could post here or perhaps in the ANH builds area1 point

Starkiller, I haven't actually submitted my application for costume approval yet. I wasn't sure if I should post my photos on this thread, or post in the thread for pre-approval with the photos I have, or take better photos before I submit my application for costume approval?1 point

Sorry for the delay, procrastination and bad memory are real problems for me. Anyway, I finally sewed on the shoulderpads! Here it is, all parts are now (finally) assembled, I am almost done!1 point

A bit of an issue here, but I shall persevere.. Since I will be adding in a coiled wire spring, I had to remove the area in the cocking channel. I caaaaarefully used a Dremel with a thin grinding attachment, and it came out OK. Lots of sanding to be done on the inside of the channel to get it flat and smooth still to come. The issue is that this is one of Bryan's "heavy duty" prints. Awesomely super thick to withstand years of trooping, but it had a PVC pipe glued in (pic 1) for even more strength. This obviously narrows the interior, but I though I could drill out the pipe without damaging the printed outside using a 1" drill bit (2). This way, the wire coil would be the correct width. Here's a hint: Don't try this. It worked well the first inch or so (3) but then started to bind up. I stopped there, as I got the feeling it was going to crack. 1 2 3 I will have to make adjustments and do the best I can with this once that time comes. Suggestion: If you do add an interior PVC pipe for added strength, when installing it I would only use it in the center part and stop at the end of the bolt. This will allow you to add a full size spring.1 point

Again, thank you everybody for your replies and well wishes! I didn't expect to see this many more comments. It has made me smile and feel better upon seeing them, and I appreciate you all for your comments. I'm almost done running my helmet electronics. I have to make some adjustments to install the Hearing Assist mics and speakers, but the fans, my ICOMM, Hovi-tip speakers, and amplifier are all working perfectly fine! I was gonna post photos but the file sizes are way bigger than the 512kb allowed.1 point

I appreciate the words of kindness and the welcomes! Yeah it happened Dec 6th 2021, and it's just so weird for somebody to be there everyday, then the next they're not, and there's nothing you can do to fix it. I'm 48, have always loved Star Wars since the Original trilogy and my very first 3.75" figure, C-3PO. Almost 7 years ago, Black Series 6" figures brought me back into collecting v Star Wars toys, which opened up me to buying original vintage playsets, and newer release figures and vehicles, cause the articulation was way better, and the better paint apps, and I have a few Hot Toys also, haha. Ever since I was a kid, I swore to myself the one day, I would have a set of Stormtrooper armor displayed on a mannequin, standing at attention, in my house one day. Purchased the armor in April, maybe May, and had to return the mannequin because it was too tall to get so the armor on it. I literally have 1 room full of toys, and almost 2/3rds of another room for the rest. It's predominately Star Wars, but I also collect Marvel Legends (mostly Spider-Man characters), McFarlane DC Multiverse (mostly Batman), GI Joe Classified, and other random toys from the 70's/80's that I had as a kid.1 point
