  3. Hi Georgia We apologize for the delay in reviewing your Centurion application, but unfortunately we cannot proceed and get that Centurion badge under your name until all the L3 requirements are met. Please post up the updated photos and we will get right on it! These are the things (as listed in your E.I. review) that need to be corrected so that we can move along.... 1. The corners of the plastic ammo belt shall be trimmed at a 45 degree angle that that meets the outer edge of the cloth belt. Also, drop boxes should be vertically aligned with the end of the ammo belt with minimal gap between belt and box. Reference images 2. The top of the ABS ammo belt should sit at or just above the bottom of the central and vertical abdomen button panels. Reference images 3. The back was overlapping your kidney quite a bit, so it looks like you have lowered the kidney. This has caused the back plate to go too low, covering the upper thighs. The bottom of the back needs to be trimmed (no return edge, like Luke's,). Thus, the back plate can be raised a little and everything will return to its correct place. E.I. app Centurion app Reference image No return edge(Luke´s) 4. In your E.I. app the cover strips on the thighs were perfect. However, in the new app the right one is facing to the side. We need new photos where the cover strip is correctly positioned... E.I. app Centurion app Reference image 5. We also need you to include an updated close-up photo of the of the ab/kidney connection (no belt, and without overlapping ). Something like this... That's all Georgia...We know it's a little extra work, but we're confident that you'll be able to make all these fixes, and thus get the Centurion badge under your name.

His friends have written an eulogy for him, as follows: It is with great regret that our dear friend Sebastien Veidt joined the Stars to become one of them. Sebastien shared with us so many beautiful things in life: Passion, Friendship, Love and his Joie de Vivre. From his TC – 2432, he is an ANH Stormtrooper, an Imperial Officer, a Shoretrooper, an Imperial Soldier, a Stormtrooper Concept by Ralph Mcquarrie and a Clone Trooper. New FISD Tri Fold Brochure We have just launched our newly revised Detachment Tri Fold brochure. It's been quite a long time since we actually had these available and since then many things have changed leading us to updating some of the text to include new costumes, and have more relevant information. Originally these were done in a limited run by the member who created them, but nowadays, we have moved this to a print your own service making them accessible to all countries around the globe. Files are available to all full 501st members on request, and are completed in a very high resolution to ensure quality in a finished product. 8. Thanks Glen, and with an important addition as well: Don't know Frog Tape, but in Germany we got this awesome stuff called "Kreppband". Multi-purpose, essential and on top of it painter's tape! I've used this tape for painting and fitting and it works super well for either. Never had a single spot with paint bleed and it was strong enough to hold parts when fitting. Something that helps would be balaclavas. I don't know about you guys but here in Germany almost everyone wears one of those, hides everything up to the nose, so nothing is visible through the frown (not guaranteed with mesh, unless you have a lot of layers one can often spot the skin underneath) and, more importantly, nothing is visible from underneath. Those kids are small enough, they don't care about our frown, but they can and will try to get a glimpse into our bucket from below and unless you got everything blacked out well enough, a balaclava would be your best bet. Just look at this photo above, even used those in Rogue One Guess that's just one of those preferences that can differ. I prefer to have a teeth gap visible, as for me that's just part of a screen accurate stormtrooper. I found a good solution that will have neither face, nor mesh showing, but still allows for that gap for my ANH helmet, so I'll be replicating that with this helmet as well. Side-view picture from my ANH Stunt build-thread As always, thanks for the feedback and the opportunity to talk about stormtroopers

  10. I guess I kind of already did this on my pre approval thread but figured I would post in the proper section as well. I was approved last week and really could not have done it without the help of many people here at the FISD. It was a long road (and not completely over) with some bumps, but in the end it was way worth it to build my own armor. I have learned a lot and competed something I dreamed of as a kid, so thank you all very much for the help! Can't wait to get out and start trooping. TK66007 ready for duty! Thanks, M

  14. I agree with Dan on this. I chose to use internal cover strips to reinforce the front of the calves (a potential weak spot due to flexing open from the rear to get them on) and also my thighs. I actually used internals to aid in gluing the two halves together from the inside first before adding my externals on the thighs and forearms and calves. It allowed me to align the parts easily. I also can get pretty active in my armour in the right environment, yeah I've been known to break out in dance lol. Funk RnB style that is, not interpretive I used CA glue on m entire kit and it is still going strong over the last 8 years. There is also the old "if you cant see it, it doesn't matter" so no, internal strapping and supportive cover strips will always be allowed and a personal choice.

  15. You can do this, Georgia! If you need any help, please feel free to contact us.

  16. Not at all, Paul. I always put interior cover strips on everything! Although not "screen accurate" they are not seen and provide extra strength to the seams. Even if someone doesn't want to use them for the other limb parts, I always suggest at least using them on the inside fronts of the calves. Those pieces get a lot of wear from opening and closing when putting on your armor so the extra reinforcement certainly helps. Another reason for using them is that some armor parts have more of a curve and the cover strips are flat. Having one on the inside takes some of the stress off the one on the outside.

  17. Guys! Thanks so much for the support here at FISD it means a lot to me. Question time, I know I should ask before doing but when I built my thighs, forearms etc I put additional coverstrips on the inside to strengthen the seam. Is this frowned upon at higher levels?

  18. You can cut on an angle or leave flat either is fine, really depends on the make of armor, I prefer the more finished angle look, albeit they get covered by your shoulder bells You can see screen used armor had angle cuts to the cover strips in places A few threads on the subject https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/51701-arm-cover-strip-alignment/ https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/26736-cutting-cover-strips-at-an-angle/

  19. Flexible fiberglass would that be Jim's? The materials list was made prior to more recent costumes and the use of flexible fiberglass is somewhat recent and the initial list mainly covered original trilogy armor and makers but no reason it can't be added to the material list. Sorry to hear you have not had a good experience and have encountered issues. I've no idea what may be happening between a supplier and club officers and I've definitely not heard locally of anyone receiving freebies or discounts from suppliers but that's not to say it doesn't happen. As a GML for some years (about 8 from memory) I can tell you that every costume I review is unbiased and nobody gets a friendly pass, but again that's not to say it doesn't happen elsewhere. I would encourage you to message our Detachment Leader Andrew @Sly11 if you would like to talk about your issues in depth, I can't say whether he would be able to help or not but it is always helpful to know if there may be issues with a particular supplier. If you have issues with your GML and the approval of a costume again you could speak to Andrew or contact the LMO's (legion membership officers), I'm sure they would be able to assist, email for them is [email protected]. If you do have solid evidence of some impropriety with your garrison command you could reach out the the LCOG's (captain of the guards) and ask to remain anonymous to protect yourself from any reprisal, their email is [email protected]. I hope some of that information may be of help to you.

  20. Agreed, mesh was not seen on any TK frown in the OT, thus the part of the CRL that states "Mesh MAY be used to obscure the face of the wearer". However, TKs seen onscreen had the advantage of lighting techs that (with a few exceptions as you showed) managed to hide their facial features underneath. BUT... When we troop, we are not characters on a screen. We are there in person.. close up. Sometimes mere inches away from a fan who wants to take a selfie. I personally would rather my teeth openings be obscured by 50 cents worth of bug screen and add to the perceived image rather than look like some stranger in a cool costume.

  21. Here's a good reference of the "front fall/angle" from one helmet Just out of interest this is what it looks like swapping sides of the decals. Note no real change on one side but on the other the fall/angle increases Yet in this comparison of decals and helmet there does not appear to be much of a front fall/angle It's not as easy to change this fall/angle with ESB decals as they are one piece BUT with ANH being separate stripes you can tweak how you like. There are lots of other references with very little front fall/angle Sorry to hijack your thread

  22. RS provided my decals which they said was printed from an actual helmet. I was given 2 sets and in each set there was one side with more even spacing between the lines and the other side not so much. I chose to use the decals from each set with the more even spacing as I didn’t think it mattered which side they went on. Is this not the case?

  23. OK Paul.. so.... WOW! You are nailing this build, sir! SUPER nice alignment on the shoulder bell/shoulder bridge connection (no gaps) and a fantastic job on the ab/kidney rivet placement! Not sure if you are aiming for higher levels of approval (E.I and Centurion) but I think I can speak on behalf of the entire D.O department when I say I (we) hope so! Keep up this solid job, sir, and keep those photos (and questions) rolling in!

  24. I must admit I've never listened to the whole file, only used it a few times in my pack. But yes I agree if you would like to share your edited file I'm sure many would be interested in a copy

  25. Great tutorial right there, nice work. For anyone following Humbrol paint does not like to go on thick, it can wrinkle when drying so two light coats are the best option, also letting the coats dry fully before applying a second coat. Not sure if you have a similar tape in your neck of the woods but stumbled across Frog Tape and my local hardware a few year back, this has a finer layer of adhesive and great for fine masking and less bleed, could be something to keep an eye out for.

  26. Helmet Paint As this is an ESB there weren't many areas that needed paint: the ears, the frown and the vocoder. Due to a need for two layers of paint and the high air humidity we got right now this took me a bit longer than I anticipated, but still got done easily enough. As I already had my paint out, I also took care of the ear screws and gave them a coat of white paint. I got the outside of the brow trim at the angled look you got to see in the previous pictures and as I had left the inside straight, it was a simple matter of putting the brow trim on the other way round to fix this issue and give it those straight edges. Hope this looks better No full bucket pictures of this yet, gotta wait for me to add the green lens foil (and the fabric behind the frown) next. Almost done, this went quicker than I had hoped, even though I stretched the work out a lot just to have something to do for a bit longer

  28. Great news, nothing better than BBB's, now wait for the excitement to end and the panic of "were do I start" sets in Good luck with the build and remember there are no silly questions only silly mistakes from not asking them

  29. BBB day is finally here after 6 1/2 months due to supply chain issues. This is better than Christmas morning. So excited and a bit nervous to be honest. I think I will follow Panda troopers videos with respect to the order and building as I found them very easy to follow.

  30. Hi, as glen pointed, you can trim it the same size

  31. I normally cut my large tab down on the back to the same size as the other tabs, you don't really notice any difference in appearance of the tabs. A couple of references Some references from Josph NOTE: As seen in the photos below, there are no large tabs on the rear of the shoulder bridges. This is not specifically mentioned in the CRL, but removing them is highly recommended if possible.

  32. Much happier with the posterior now. Added the v tabs, trimmed and added the snaps. I still have to add the split rivet to the cod area and make the strap. I was able to get the wife to take some quick pics with it on. I should have taken them with the under suit on instead of a t shirt and shorts, but I grab her when I can... Let me know if anything seems off or could be better. I know I said the belt is next, but I forgot I need to do the shoulder bridges next.
