  1. I heard that some folk are holding back their applications as they are trying to time it so they can be EI#1000. I would encourage you guys not to do so, as you may find that due to how the applications get processed, you may end up as EI # 1001! :laser: So, don't delay - apply today! This is something you definitely don't want to miss out on.

  2. It certainly would appear that someone out there disagrees with your opinion. After seeing that, I'm done trooping in mine... I believe it was one of only 2 Centurion kits on set if that makes you feel any better haha

  4. First, i took some 200 grit sandpaper and sanded off the text that was on the side of the gun. Then, I started with the holes on the barrel. The dremel I bought came with a bunch of bits, and one of them fit the size of the premade holes perfectly. So I just drilled straight into the barrel with it and it worked perfectly. I cut out all of the premade indents. I plan on putting an inner barrel in there eventually, but more on that later. Next, I cut out the sights. I used a smaller bit and carefully cut out the sights for a more accurate look. I'm starting to like how these small modifications are going to make a big difference.

  5. For this week's offering of PDF resources I've now compiled this thread into printable/downloadable PDF form for builders who may want to either print it or store it on an iPad. The loathed photobucket overlays have even been removed by accessing the original images directly! This thread compliments the other Helmet Assembly tutorials I've compiled on my All-In-One Resource Post, and many thanks to David (OP) for this excellent how-to!

  6. It was only a matter of time before one of those lucky enough to have been part of the Mandalorian, would see dollar signs and decide to cash in. Me personally, I would have tried to get as many as possible to sign the armour and keep it as a memento of a truly once in a lifetime experience.

  7. Hey everybody. I joined the 501st UK Garrison as a TIE pilot in 2017 but have been lurking here for just as long. Finally picked up a TK kit from RWA and with Cableguy's tutelage on the Garrison boards acquired basic approval with it this week. Just waiting for full forum access now so I can go for EIB.

  8. I would agree on this 100%. There is so much craziness at least here in the US, it seems this is one of the few places where you can be part of something positive.

  9. $14,000 for a 501st approved costume, if only we could all sell ours for this, I'd be pumping out a set of armor every week At first I was like ok but it's not Mandalorian specific era armor BUT the Propstore has mentioned several times it's a costume created by the 501st and appeared throughout the series so the buyer should know what they are getting. At the end of the day it's a nice payday for the member and it did appear on screen and I'm sure the purchaser is happy. The helmet, those ear screws, "he cringes"

  10. Not to get too far side-tracked from the original purpose of the thread, but you'll be interested in the link below, John. =) https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/39650-anh-paint-colour-guide/

  11. Lots of helmet photos at the auction link. The original helmet went for $110,000 . Check out the wonky ear screws, they are in totally different spots on each side, and not lined up with the traps. It’s fun to see how different those original ANH helmets were. https://propstoreauction.com/m/lot-details/index/catalog/267/lot/62794/

  12. When I first posted this, it was about the helmet prop, an original In good condition that was never converted for ESB and has never been sold before. Really good Reference. I hadn’t noticed that the full suit was from a 501st extra, I assumed it was an LFL suit, but it says right there in the text description. Not only does this feel inappropriate to auction, but I feel like LFL would not be too happy with this either, after giving us a chance of a lifetime. Either those opportunities stop, or there is a provision in the contract against this in the future.

  16. During the pandemic pretty much all my interactions with individuals other than family members or coworkers has been here on FISD. Granted, having a baby had pretty much kept me from social gatherings outside of home or work for the past 16 months anyway, but at this point the only "friends" I interact with are the amazing Troopers on here. I look forward to the day when I can meet some of you fine folks in person, hopefully as a Legion member myself.

  19. I would get rid of that plus most, if not all of the return edge following the contour of the cod piece. That stuff won’t feel good after a lot of walking around.

  22. Welcome, Scout! Yeah, I did sort of the same thing... I ordered a kit from ebay before finding out about the 501st/FISD and found that it was not acceptable. Ouch. I would try to sell it on there just to recoup some of your funds, though. To answer a few of your questions: 1. "I have also found on ETSY a 850ArmorWorks. Does anyone know if they are a good set of Armor, I have not seen them listed here at all, but they have kits for $400." 850 is absolutely acceptable when built correctly, but note that is for Rogue One armor (different that A New Hope) and does not include the helmet. 2. "Does anyone know if there are is a site that shows how to build your armor right to Centurion level"? Since we at the FISD are the ones that approve troopers at that level, this is the site you need! A good idea is to look at some of the EI submissions located here, especially those with an approval number after the title. You must achieve Expert Infantry level before applying for Centurion, though, and looking through those will give you good idea of what we look for. If you are going for an OT (Original Trilogy) Trooper (A new Hope/Empire Strikes Back/Return of the Jedi) I have a thread here which will help, as it shows what the various differences not only from the films but in the different levels of accuracy required for advancement. Always, always feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to serve!

  23. I can’t believe that anyone would pay over the odds for a kit from the Mandalorian. Being brutally honest, it’s not even very well built or fitted. The topic of “oh, that makes [xyz] kit cannon” is a slippery slope. Let’s be honest, they are built to various qualities, as are the various armour suppliers. Personally, I believe that new-comers should be aspiring to replicate original, screen used suits, not copies.

  24. The mandalorien tk suit is estimated to go for eight to ten grand ... unbelievable . RS props will sell you a brand new ,exactly the same , for one and a half grand allin , built to fit you . The guy selling it has apparently already ordered a replacement from RS ...lol... good on him if he gets that for it ! Can't blame a guy for trying .

  25. Theres a reasonable number of HWT EIB. 12 at my last count but that was about 100 approvals ago so there may be a few more now. EIB numbers are issued 1 per person, so you get a number for your first EIB but not your second if you follow. So you may be 2-10 EIB approved costumes but only 1 EIB#.

  28. Hey trooper, Great to hear you’re aiming high! :-) For EIB and Centurion, you don’t actually need someone local - you apply here on FISD. As long as you have been cleared at basic by your GML, you can apply for EIB and then Centurion. The links are in this thread; https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/35371-eib-and-centurion-what-do-these-terms-mean/ Any questions, just shout. :-) Dan
