  3. I would wait until you have the rest of the upper armor complete before tackling those, Jonas. That way, you can see how they are going to fit with your chest/back/biceps done and in place. When it's time to fit them, just use tape to make sure they are going to be good to go. (They should be).

  4. So, I'm back, how was everybodys christmas? Mine was a bit sickly... Fortunatly mostly just irritating. Anyway, today I took another shot at the gloves, I sanded them a bit more and and put on some hand sanitizer on it all. The guards became a little sticky at the bottoms so I hope they will glue better. If this doesn't do anything I will just buy new ones from Joseph. Here is how the straps for the arms came out: Do they look good? I also finally put on the elastic straps for the shoulders: Next I'm planning on putting on the bell straps, which should I start with? Bell to bicep? Bell to shoulder? Now, something else, does these look right? Are they not cut a bit too much? Shouldn't they be straighter?

  5. Got a little more trimming done tonight. What I thought was a small box of small stuff (mainly belt and ab boxes) ended up being a LOT of trimming. All those extra corners really add up! Worked on the forearms for quite a bit and even though it’s rough, it felt pretty darn good to slide on a piece of the armor for the first time. I have all day Monday to myself. I plan on lots of clean up work on all the edges from today and then maybe try to dry fit some things to see how everything lines up. I’ll try to post up some detail pictures as I get things done. As a side note, I have had a few Dremels over the years, my latest being a 3000. But I happened to pick up a Stylo+ over the holidays.. man what a handy tool! I have to use the 3000 for the cutting and rough trimming, but the small and super light Stylo+ is amazing for detail work. A highly suggested piece to add to your arsenal and under $50! http://www.amazon.com/dp/B077Y86FKJ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_ngdcEbSC7N8B8 Sent from my iPhone using The Force

  10. Actually the trim does not need to be glued (well, unless you are bend on having the both side of the trim just under the tip of the tube strips sit perfectly flush). Cut the space filling material a bit longer than measured, the pressure from compressing the rubber will keep the trim in place. P.S. the screen used prop has the join point at the back. So in case you obtain a full new S-trim, do not cut at the exact length straight away, cut it a bit longer that measured and trim your cut bit by bit, apply some pressure to the S-trim until both ends meet each other.

  18. Welcome to the FISD, Jenny, and congratulations on your TM purchase! Lots to learn before it arrives, so you have some research in front of you. Know that we are here for any and all questions you may have, so always feel free to ask! If you haven't already done so, I would suggest getting in touch with Daniel @TheSwede He serves as the Imperial Attache for Sweden, is part of the FISD Command Staff (Deployment Officer) and is a wealth of TK knowledge.

  20. Thank you for the input Husky68. I have been working with Mark at AP and have plans for each issue at moment. First, I have removed the cover strips from rear of thighs at moment and am getting shim materials from Mark to be able to make a single curved shim as a wedge from top of thigh where it will be a few inches wide to the bottom where it will be 1". I used inexpensive abs sheets that don't match to test the theory and it appears that this will solve the thigh issue. My kidney plate has been extended by a much smaller amount than I have seen some troopers be able to do so that helps tremendously. Sides fit snug and close well. As for the chest plate I found a couple things. First, by moving the snap locations in the bottom of the chest to slightly higher in the plate it tends to want to pull it lower and allows overlap. I am working with this and once the thigh work is done I will make it permanent. This also needs a slightly lower line on my neck but whereas it appears it will be only roughly an inch compromise on height it should not create an issue. Once these modifications are completed then I will share some pics. Thanks again for the response. -Rick
