As I read it, it ships out in 1-2 business days, but takes 6-9 days for delivery (ground). I also pulled the trigger. When it doubt, double down, right?2 points

All’s good. But yes without sounding like a jerk which is going to be impossible there were different levels of armor accuracy within our group. I will admit that because of the SO Cal blaster ban I didn’t have my accurate E-11 with me so by the grace of an awesome fellow trooper he had a, I know shame on me, Rubies blaster that I borrowed. So there’s a little Easter Egg for you, find the trooper with the Rubies blaster.2 points

Thanks ukswrath. FM blaster is fabulous. So, after 3 layers of primer to be sure not to forgive any portion, I did several tests on aluminum bars to find the good black color. I also wanted to test textured paints for the scope. The flat black primer was good (not a flat black but not satin anyway). I finally decided to use a real flat black paint (MOTIP MTP-M04006). No textured layer for the main tube, just on the scope. Picture n°1 : you can see the M38 scope as Chris sells it. Picture n°2 : I applied 3 layers of a flat black primer (MOTIP MTP-M04052) on all the scope. After drying, I masked the two brass extremities. Picture n°3 : I used a dark grey hammered paint to give its texture to the scope (MTP-M04017 ). Wasn’t satisfied by my tests on aluminum bars, so I followed Tino’s idea. To enhance the texture, I used a brush to tap the paint when it was drying (sorry Tino, I didn’t use kitchen paper). Picture n°4 : After drying, I unmasked the scope and I applied 2 layers of flat black paint on all the scope (MOTIP MTP-M04006). Et voilà ! I will enhance the text in white later. Will also do some weathering.2 points

Hey party people, Justin "TheRascalKing" R. here. My Anovos ANH-S TK is starting to show some wear and tear after 3 years of trooping in it pretty frequently, and I've decided that it's finally time to start moving towards retiring it. That being said, I'm a stormtrooper through and through (Centurion #396, TK Mentor for SCG, working towards Armorer), so I knew I had to replace it with something else white and shiny. After some research, (at time of writing) it looks like Jim Tripon ("Jimmiroquai") from the Philippines' kit is the only high quality one currently available (aware of 850AW soon at least). But I liked the idea of flexible fiberglass and I was very impressed with some of his Praetorian Guard suits that SCG members have. Plus, it looked most similar to the material used for the suits I saw on set (recycled from R1 and Solo). I already knew shipping from the Philippines was expensive and group buys were the way to go, so I started reaching out to others in my Garrison to see if we could get something going. Turns out another member was already starting to do the same and we were able to get together a group buy of at least 7 suits! Parts are starting to come off the line and Jim has been great to work with. I'll post back with more when BBB day comes, but I thought I'd start a thread and get things going. I'll do my best to document our build, as there isn't much out there on these suits yet. We have some experienced builders and we plan to loop in some master Clone builders as well, as this almost has more in common with a Clone or FO build in many ways. Teamwork makes the dream work. Planning on getting Jim's undersuit and having it tailored if needbe, and having a friend who has his own paint business spray the kit for me (he mostly does motorcycles, but has sprayed helmets in the past for me and does top notch work). Boots from Imperial Boots, gloves from Endor Finders. Excited to get started and I'll post more soon! Thanks for the interest and keep checking back!1 point

I know it's not real leather but I think it came out pretty good. I had some material and I decided to give it a try. I still plan on making one out of real leather but this will do for now. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk1 point

I am going to say Mandalorian because they actually look like the exist and the Anovos are vaporware and only prototypes and broken promises.1 point

Okay, thank you, I kinda thought the measurements for the corners were off1 point

Hey everyone! Here is a quick update. I have done some pretty heavy mods already to this helmet, but it is already starting to take shape. First, here are some reference images I am using. Next, I have the cheeks cut out to give them a more accurate shape. Here is a shot of the ear details made by me. And I also added the forehead crest. That's pretty much it for this update. Until next time1 point

I did not like the way the strip looked and decided to exchange it with a new one: And the finished look...1 point

I'm not as expert as many people here but in my experience what I have done was just Hot water and rubbing hard with a cloth. It worked for me more than any chemical. regards1 point

Welcome Bill. Glen being the master of information around these parts has started you off with some great info. Adding to that there's no one armor kit available that's better then another, at least for the time being. Each has their benefits and challenges and all will require a lot of work regardless. That said here on the FISD you'll find the best informed group of FOTK builders willing to help you along the way.1 point

Hi Justin, I had exactly the same issue. What I did, may be it can help you, I used some wood pieces to extend the pressure over the cover strips, and qhere the wood and clamps did no reach especially de center, I used some magnets. I have take some pictures so you can figure out what I'am talking about. Remember to give the E6000 enough time to get dry. Cheers1 point

Hello and welcome aboard. Which version of the FOTK? there are 3, here are the CRL's, base 501st requirements for costume approval TFA https://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:TK_-_First_Order TLJ https://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:TK_TLJ TLJ - E https://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:TK_TLJ_Executioner TFA builds area https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/forum/152-tfa-stormtrooper/ TLJ builds area https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/forum/195-tlj-build-threads/ Resources thread https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/34166-first-order-stormtrooper-resources/#comments A great build to follow is Tony's @ukswrath https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/31877-ukswraths-fotk-build-thread/ Research is the key so you have a bit of reading in front of you, have a look through some of the build sections, you may find armor maker info, good luck and hope to see a build thread from you soon1 point

Well it will be a tough question on a few levels. 1. It will be canon and so will those of us that were there. There are some continuity issues for sure since it’s supposed to take place after the fall of the Empire but the cast extras were Rogue One armor and we were ANH TK’s as far as I know. But I am not 100% sure every one of us was ANH. 2. We were technically extras but we were front and center and the actual extras were in the background. 3. I would suspect the CRL will be the standard ANH TK since that’s what was requested and per the Basic ANH CRL there are certain things not allowed like FX so I don’t see that changing. 4. Maybe there will be a Mandalorian variant like ROTJ but again I doubt it because we were all approved ANH TK’s. Maybe we will all become “Mandalorian Centurion “ ANH TK’s, LOL.1 point

Yea you have a lot of goodies in there that can be contributing to some helmet echo. Let me know if there's anything I can do to help. Bounce ideas off each other.1 point

Got the same email Glen, half tempted to order one (FOMO syndrome, fear of missing out) however, I'll wait and see who receives theirs.1 point

Since you’re doing a WTF, this build thread is one of the best I’ve seen. I’ve used parts of this build for my own. Hope it helps.1 point

These Brent emails have been popping up over the last couple of weeks. They’re keen to get some more revenue. In the last week a number of us managed to secure the Anovos SWGE TLJ bucket for only $299.00 - and some have already arrived. Happy days! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro1 point

Measurements are a guide and for the belt you wont the angled corners to match the belt, for centurion as per the CRL: The corners of the plastic ammo belt shall be trimmed at a 45 degree angle that that meets the outer edge of the cloth belt1 point

Hi James, Exciting times. Best of luck with your build. :-) Just a couple of things; • be cautious of the colour match if you’re using a different make of helmet. TKUK is inherently blue (for some reason) so is a tricky match • check other TKUK builds for tips on how to get around some of its unique features for the best appearance. Joining the TKUK builders group might be advisable for additional support Best wishes Dan1 point
